A Warm Pink That Works
Maybelline Inked in Pink Color Tattoo Metal Eyeshadow ($6.99 for 0.14 oz.) is a pinky-mauve with a frosted, metallic finish. When it’s sheered out, it loses some of the pinkness as it lays over my naturally warm skin tone (so on cooler complexions, it might look pinker when sheered out). MAC Sweet Acting is lighter. MAC Rose Light is a touch lighter. Urban Decay Provocateur is a bit more mauve and glittery. Urban Decay Bordello is more mauve. MAC Neo Nebula is very comparable.
I wore this alongside Barely Branded, and it lasted a full twelve hours without fading, creasing, or smudging.  It also worked well as a complement to Barely Branded and both were easy to blend into each other so it didn’t look too divided (but I didn’t want to blend too much, as I was primarily testing wear).  It applied with full color coverage without needing to layer the product on, so I would say this is quite pigmented and you’ll want to use less if you intend to sheer it out.  The consistency was creamy and lightweight, and once it dried down, it was set for the day.

I have at MAC Fresco Rose and it looks very close to this. Do you have that one? Its more of a pearl finish that is pinky-mauve 🙂

Is this the same colour that was released in the UK? Here we have one that looks similar called ‘Pink gold’ that was released a few months back.

It’s a shame Maybelline/L’Oréal don’t think us continental Europeans worthy of most of the pretty colours in their product range.

Everywhere else where Maybelline is sold didn’t have this colour – obviously, as it would’ve been pretty nice.

My color tatto came with these little bubbles on the top as well and I was afraid to use it, but now I see it is not only mine and maybe it is normal?!
My guess is moisture was on top and then dried in place!
I like this one! I wore it on New Years Eve with Nocturnelle e/s in the crease, Fig 1 e/s in the outer v, and Sweet Lust e/s (all MAC) to highlight. Talk about pretty!
It looks so much like Givenchy eyes that kill in sweet fire (though perhaps Givenchy’s is a bit more dull – as in not as bright as this one)! For something that I’m not going to wear everyday, I’ll probably going to go with this one!
Oh dear, they just keep coming up with more colors, and I so wanna try this one now. I might set my Rubenesque paint pot aside, and try this one out!!

Okay, wore it out to dinner tonight. I’d say it definitely wears pinker on my skin. It has almost an underlying silver sheen on me and wears cooler. Gorgeous shade either way. 🙂

It looks gorgeous in the pot and on your arm, but there is no way a pink color looks good on my eyelid or lashline. I just look like I have an infection. Sadly. It’s very pretty and so reasonable.

I love situations like this where an item is cheaper and better than an expensive brand.
I have to ask, is there some sort of secret to applying these? People rave about them, but the three I own all go on patchy and melt off my lids after an hour even with primer.
Which three do you own? The only one I had major trouble with was the purple one!
You’re right, the purple one is the worst culprit! I also had trouble with the silver and taupe colors, but I think I’ll try reapplying them with a better brush and maybe setting them to see if that helps..
I applied the taupe with my finger, and it worked pretty well. I found that it’s definitely not as good as the bronze, though.
I agree with you Claire…I cannot get these to work for me. I’ve tried several colors & have pitched them all in frustration. They crease within an hour on me unless I use a primer & setting powder. I’m better of just using a powder shadow for the work these require for me. Totally bummed because I’m definitely in the minority with these!

It’s creamier, thinner – it can definitely be used as a base!
I grabbed Barely branded and Inked in pink today! I love the cor tattoos! They don’t crease on me like paint pots! I can’t wait til Temptalia reviews the dark blue one!

bring me a matte or satin finish, i’ll lap it up. i m over shimmer in my eye products. pass for me. but i m sure it’s great stuff for what it’s supposed to do. a brown matte, 1, like the mac paint pots. yeah!!!
Have you checked out Tough As Taupe from this line? It’s a matte grey-taupe. Sounds like it’d be right up your alley.
I’ve had success with mixing a fingertip of these with a tiny bit of Urban Decay’s Eden Primer Potion. Cuts the metallic down to a satin.

This color makes me excited. Can’t wait to give it a try. I really like that it’s not such a strong color as some of the other Color Tattoos
So glad they have a lighter pink.. it’s a very usable color for me. Anyone who is afraid of the shimmer just put on a light layer and top it with a less shimmery shadow, the shadow sticks really well and covers the shimmer just fine.
This is really, really pretty and surprisingly wearable–definitely more so than I thought it would be! I might have to grab this next time I’m at CVS now!

I have this color and, for whatever reason (maybe I just got a bad one?), it does not have the staying power of the other Color Tattoos. I’ve tried it on it’s own, over a primer, setting it with a powder eye shadow, applying it with my finger and applying it with a brush, but it just smears right off no matter what.
This product looks phenomenal under Mac’s Beautiful Iris! I bought this specifically for that color because alone Beautiful Iris looks a bit ashy on me.
