Makeup, Hair, & Nails @ Erickson Beamon S/S 2012
WOW! The styling at Erickson Beamon was ridiculous–and I mean that in the best way! After seeing a lot of nude/neutral colors and looks at other shows, it’s such a breath of fresh air!
Nonie from Butter London for Beauty.com created pops of color on the nails using a neon orange, chartreuse, magenta (with a little touch of shimmer), and teal. The magenta and teal shades are definitely part of the spring/summer collection but she hasn’t decided whether the other two will come out (I totally voted for chartreuse!). They put a different color on each fingernail and toenail. The backstage area was so cramped, there were Butter London team members sitting on the floor and crunched in some really awkward-looking positions!
PHYTO for Beauty.com was styling the hair, which was sleek and twisted to wrap around each side and pulled into a ponytail. It was designed to be understated, because the makeup and nails were already so bold and vibrant.
MAC was responsible for the makeup. Chantal Miller, MAC Senior Artist, was the key artist for the makeup look, and she used a lot of PRO products, like Paintsticks, Glitters, and Pigments. The models also wore hand-cut paper lashes, which the models said were odd at first but after a few minutes, they were used to them. Lots and lots of glitter along the brow bone and underneath the eye, as well as a bold lip with more glitter patted on top. It was a superstar team back there; I also spotted Senior Artists Fatima, Romero, and Neil (UK) at work. (Fatima even told me she reads Temptalia, which was totally a “No way!” moment for me.)
Check out more photos!
I can’t see me rocking these looks at the office, but I do like the pops of colour. Love the lips!!
Nice…loved the paper lashes. Do you know what paper can be used for that?
I don’t, but they seemed rather thick and a touch glossy!
Love the color combination… Very creative!!!
Just love how close your camera takes a close-up of every minute detail…and the pics are untouched. I dont feel so bad now that I had severe acne in my youth.
Honestly, these models look so gorgeous in person. They weren’t wearing foundation in these photos (Chantal said no base on skin to keep it raw/modern, since you can get away with less on the skin with so much going on the eyes/lips) as far as I know!
That would be a total “NO WAY!” moment! Awesome! Congrats 🙂 I’m loving this makeup too (probably no big surprise)!! LOL
I know – when she talked about Paintsticks, I was like, “DUSTY IS ALL OVER THIS.”
omg I must have all those BL shades!!! TDF!!! I love their lips and what great photos!
Garish but really fun! I love how the models actually look lively. Very cute. 😀
Words can not express how much I adore this. Don’t usually pay any attention to nails and never wear polish myself, but the models totally sold me on every colour their wearing. So nice to see some creativity after a slew of boring runway styling!
I did love it, although the pink in the hairline bothers me. It seems so faded and badly applied in the first pictures!
I love the lips, though.
Love the hair and nails! And the makeup is so unique and colorful.
Those looks are really awesome. I love the nails! I love doing multi-color themes on my nails. I’m gonna totally duplicate the nail look even though it may seem crazy to others lol.
🙁 personally it looks like a 5 year old did it. i hate to be rude! but they dont look finished or flawless and theres not alot of fine detail or precision.
i used to be a mac fanatic, now i dont but it at all. shame
@johnfiend
It’s high-fashion, it’s not supposed to look ”finished”. S/S looks are usually a lot less angular, sharp and precise than F/W. S/S is usually about softness, smokiness, and an airbrushed feel.
finally someone!!! agreeed!
These pictures are seriously gorgeous!! thanks for sharing!! 🙂
Seriously, this makeup look is a copy of a fantasy look that Sam from Pixiwoo did back in March… Check it out here:
