Make Up For Ever Launches Aqua Shadow

Make Up For Ever Launches Aqua Shadow

Simplify your make up routine with an eye-catching new collection of smudge-proof color that stays put no matter where the day, or night, may take you. The latest addition to MAKE UP FOR EVER’S coveted Aqua family, new Aqua Shadow is a range of long-lasting, easy-to-use eye shadow pencils created for make up pros and novices alike.

Aqua Shadow was in high demand backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim in summer 2011, where artists had only minutes to create runway ready make up looks that wouldn’t crease or smudge under hot lights and humidity. Aqua Shadow was created for make up artists working in extreme environments as well as women wanting high performance make up they can wear every day, making it a must-have for all, whether backstage, on-stage or in real life.

Formulated with silica powder, Aqua Shadow’s creamy texture glides on smoothly and blends easily, providing immediate color payoff and an event result. A combination of waxes, oils and polymers create a flexible film that locks water out to guarantee long lasting, smudge-proof and crease-proof color.

Aqua Shadow is available in 12 hues from neutral to smoky with matte or pearly finishes. Swipe your favorite color across your lid for a quick and easy look, or create a multicolored effect by layering on additional shades. Apply Aqua Shadow directly to the upper or lower lid and blend with the fingertips or a brush. Allow the product to set for five seconds before blinking. Aqua Shadow is compact and portable, making it great for on-the-go application.

It’s interesting that they are introducing quite a selection of neutral shades, usually I see more vibrant bright colours. I guess this is like their own version of Urban Decay glide on shadow pencils?

Excited to see reviews of these, the pearly peach one shall be mine I’m sure, love a peach wash of color on the eyes during the summer!

As usual in Poland we don’t have the whole range. We have the light colours but from the dark ones only the black :/ I HATE it! Can you believe we aren’t getting the MAC Extra Dimension and Tres Cheek collections either? I can’t stand it 🙁

These look great! I loved the NYX big fat crayon but it didn’t stay put; so for what it’s worth the UD ones are fantastic because doing eyes in a rush with crayons is soo easy! I’d recommend them to travel with a sharpener and a blending brush. These colors look amazing! The formula sounds bombproof and may not need primer- the UD ones don’t and I’d expect MUA to blow past UD, lol.

I wonder how the 32E (pearly white) will look to brighten my inner eye? I have used Benefit eyebright for years, but the formula can be a bit dry and rough during the summer months…cant wait to play!

I think they’ll be excellent for layering as a base with brights over the top. Say if you use the palest 32E it will be a bright base so if you put fuchsia over the top it would really “pop” Or a very neutral one close to your skin tone would even it out. I THINK that’s what they intend more than using them as shadows alone, but we’ll see. Maybe if it’s a success they’ll bring out more neon ones!!

I was near a Sephora when I saw this post, so I quickly went there to check them out. Taupe was barely noticeable on my lid, Coper was salmon-y, pink, peach and beige were nice, but I ended up buying pink beige.
All the colours looked true to description, soft and creamy on your hand, but on the lid, most tended to look very understated and subtle. They’re only good if you want a nude/barely there shade for everyday (which I did :))

Oh I hope they’re not like the NARS eyeshadow pencils and more like the NYX ones! From the images they look more like the NYX Jumbo Pencils, but there’s no way to guess the formula without testing it. I hope it’s not another crease-city one as they’re a nice range of colours for bases there.
