Make Up For Ever 30 Years 30 Colors 30 Artists Palette

In celebration of their 30th anniversary, MAKE UP FOR EVER partnered with 30 elite makeup artists from all areas of the industry including celebrity, fashion and beauty, TV, film and theater as well as Brand Creator & Artistic Director Dany
Sanz. The brand’s unique story is shared through the eyes of these artists who helped shape it into a cult favorite for professionals and the public.

Makeup artists have been devotees of MAKE UP FOR EVER since its beginning in 1984, when it launched an eye shadow collection featuring 100 shades. Now 30 years later, the brand has revolutionized the product that put it on the map by introducing the new, advanced Artist Shadow. Staying true to its roots, MAKE UP FOR EVER presented the first preview of this new collection to the community that helped bring its name into the spotlight – the professionals.

Curated by these artists, the spectacular limited edition collector’s 30 Years 30 Colors 30 Artists Palette features 30 Artist Shadows inspired by each artist’s unique journey within the industry and personal experience with MAKE UP FOR EVER. The palette is divided into three black trays each carrying 10 shadows in the following 3 categories: smoky, brights, and neutrals. These highly blendable and vivid shadows allow consumers to explore this palette’s endless possibilities by mixing and matching their favorite shades, and experimenting with new bold shadows.

That’s a really great value as well – less than 10$ a shadow!

Christine, do you know if they will be offering a pro discount on this set as well, or is it only priced for retail?

Nicole Avatar

I called into the store in Toronto and they told me that the pro discount is not offered for this palette since it is so limited. From what I was told they will only sell 10 in each MUFE boutique, a total of 20 in Canada. There is a waiting list as well for the 10 spots.

Nicole Avatar

I completely agree. I will have to confirm with the manager of the boutique, though the associate I spoke to made it very clear to me that it is an extremely exclusive palette. Perhaps you folks in the US are luckier 😉

Christine Avatar

Ooh, possibly.

I just got off the phone with MUFE Boutique at Valley Fair (California), and she said it is limited and they’re expecting between 10-10 palettes but aren’t sure exactly. Interesting enough, but I would almost expect that actual stores would have less inventory since it IS $250 in one go, but then again, there are so few boutiques!

Beautiful. Not a brand I regularly buy so not likely I’ll get it. $250 is a lot and I probably have dupes for many of the shades (not sure since I haven’t seen actual swatches). I love when all the holiday sets come out! The brands always do such an amazing job!!!

MakeupTray Avatar

After getting this, one would never need another eyeshadow again. I would be interested in getting this but waiting for your ratings first.

On the one hand, this really is a great deal, and alot of the shades look like ones I’d wear. On the other, I’d really like to see this in person before committing such a large amount of money…

Looks awesome!!! I love when brands feature makeup artists. But, dear oh dear, did they just misspelled Kabuki’s name on the actual promo image under I-922 colour? I really hope it’s just that one picture because an artist with his immeasurable genius talent deserves much better. Unless there is Kubuki makeup artist who seemed to be worthier of a choice. I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of the original Kabuki and just couldn’t help to notice.

Also, just want to sent tons of love to Lottie as well, what a wonderful true artist!

Each individual shadow retails for $21, therefore making this set valued at $630. $250 is a more than fair price and these shadows are incredible and worth every red cent I promise you that.

Genna Avatar

This looks so amazing! I actually don’t have any MUFE eyeshadows, but I love everything else of theirs that I have tried! The colors look awesome & I love Ve Neill, might have to check this out!

OMG. I could have just waited for this. Nice Mug one too. *shaking my fist* I feel your pain now, Christine. Wow..80 more to go.. Do you know price details? 🙂 Any insider into on the sephora friends and family 20%? I seriously shop at the army times. 🙁

Lotus Avatar

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE YOU! You literally just saved my bank. (I wish I had for warning before I ever spend as you may have noted in my comments that I just spend everything right before a great deal, ALWAYS, so I’m in need of a break! Lol, so happy to know to wait and save!) Bless you!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 😀 🙂 xoxo!

Lotus Avatar

YOU ARE KILLING ME. But I feel for you. I’m guessing half face days are coming? OMG. I totally could have just waited for this.. Well.. No. It’s too much that I wouldn’t touch it because I can’t make up my mind what to use! That’s why most sit, unused.. The variety overcomes me. Lol. BRILLIANT JOB MUFE but why TEMPT?! Grrrr 😀 Yay for all who get and enjoy this! What a professional arsenal!

anne Avatar

Yes this is exactly what i was thinking, maybe $100 per palette? I could have justified that as besides the price i wouldn’t use the brights

Soo if this does come out for VIB Rouges on Tuesday…that is my birthday so I should take that as a sign to get it, right? 🙂

In all seriousness, the colours look beautiful and I will seriously consider buying this if I get some Sephora gift cards for my birthday, and if they have it in my “local” store, 45 minutes away. You can’t use gift cards online if you are in Canada for some inane reason.

MUFE’s eyeliners and HD finishing powder are HG products for me but somehow I’ve never gotten around to trying their eye shadows. Looks like a lot of warm browns though…I don’t use them that often and already have plenty.

Kathleen Quinlan Avatar

I love these shadows! I got the palette and they are so blendable and pigmented, great color payoff! Can’t wait for this palette!

Karana Avatar

I know it’s already out in my local Sephora inside JCP, it was four for $16 each without the empty palette. This is a better value!

Christine, do you know how many are they releasing this set online?

Hannah Avatar

What a beautiful palette:) Do you know if this palette contains the new formula they now sell? Also, will you be purchasing this and reviewing it before it releases? I am interested in this but would love to see your review on it before I make my final decision 🙂 Thank you!

I was on the waiting list for the NY Boutique since it was impossible for me to attend the pro event (we need a boutique in GA!). I didn’t expect to get a phone call for it since it was in such low supply (all boutiques except for the main NY one was only going to get around 9 palettes each)….and I just knew it would sell out during the pro preview event. So I was surprised to get the call today that I could get one if I was still interested.

To those that asked (if it’s already been answered I apologize) there are no additional pro discounts on the palette. Not too surprising since it is so deeply discounted as is. ($8.33/per shadow). I know they are supposed to have some of the palettes at The Makeup Show Dallas but there won’t be many.

I just ordered this and I’m so excited to get it. All the colors are so beautiful i already own 9 and i love them …6 of the ones i own are on the palette so thats kinda sucky lol
