That pastel eyeshadow palette just doesn’t do it for me at all. It looks so pale and boring and like you’d really need to have other shadows or palettes on hand to get any sort of eye look. I do like the look of French Toast but that’s about it.

Susan Avatar

Whoa, boring eye shadow palette. I like light shades but don’t know what I’d do with something this pale.

And this is an honest question, not sarcasm — why would anyone want a seafoam green highlighter for your face?

Chip Avatar

And ‘eggs benny’ is green. Is that a Seuss joke because green is not the first color I think of when it comes to eggs.

Mmmmmm I want to believe maybe the colors will perform differently on the skin? Hot sauce, bloody mary, and sunday funday all look like they’ll blend together as a single mishmash of color. After too faced’s chocolate chip palette, I’m not convinced on pastel colors :/

Robin Avatar

Love the color source in pink and coral and the lip products. Ugh! I had plan to purchase one of the new Clarins cheek stamp blushes; LORAC may make me change my mind! Will try to wait for y9ur review.

I hope you get news about Mellan soon!

Sarah Avatar

The Limelight highlighter appeals to me but I think the NYX Prismatic Shadow in Mermaid does the job! I’ll wait to see the reviews for it. Also, I had to double check that this palette wasn’t a repromote of the Sephora x Pantene palette!

This palette does have me curious if nothing else. Depending on how well pigmented these swatch, they will either be quite pretty for this spring’s pastel trend, or they will be a powdery mess, especially for us not-so-light folks.
I already know that the lipsticks won’t work on me at all, nor the 2 blushes. KCD Alchemist Emerald is as green a highlight I’m willing to wear.

My first thought was maybe this would be a palette to compliment Pastel Goth. But then I noticed there’s only 1.5 cool shades in the whole damn thing. It’s basically a warm, neutral palette that the existence of the green and blue can let them say “we do color” without actually doing it. Boo. ?

Laurie Avatar

I would love some of these shades … I’m dying for some lighter grays that aren’t silvery … but not all of them, and not for $44. Between the new Kat Von D, the MAC pastel Palette (one of the small ones) and the Dior Tutu Palette that I picked up on sale, I guess I’m set. That may sound like a lot, but the Dior requires a judicious hand due to the shimmer.

Christine, your review of the Sephora Watercolors Palette is why I won’t buy it on eBay. I wish light, matte colors weren’t chalky, but I guess when you blend a color with white to lighten it, that’s what happens.

Oooh, I love the idea of pastels for spring, but there have been SO many pastel shadow disasters (Sephora Panetone , Laura Watercolor Mist palette) that I’m super wary , and Lorac’s kits are hit or miss. So I won’t buy without seeing swatches or reviews first, but if it’s decent, will definitely go for it, esp. if on sale. Not sure about the pastel lipsticks, they don’t tend to look good on me, but I’m game for the pastel highlighter (green is so intriguing), blushes, and lip glosses.

Alison Avatar

I can’t wait to see reviews on these! People are saying that palette looks boring, but to me it looks very unique! I hope it performs well.

Jackie Avatar

This collection is easily a skip for me. I wouldn’t know what eye looks to do with such a light, pastel-y eyeshadow palette. I may take a look at the apricot blush but the rest of it is surely a skip. Pretty to look at, but not very usable.

Bonnie Avatar

Pretty! Guess I’m old school (or maybe just old – lol), but this eyeshadow palette looks like spring to me! I’m tired of dark, warm colors. Holding my breath though…I don’t have confidence that this will swatch well. Especially the mattes. For the life of me, I’d like to know why it’s so difficult to produce a creamy, pigmented matte.
Also have my eye on Foodie & Barista gloss and lipstick combos. Thanks Christine! ?

I really like the highlighter! And the palette is gorgeous to me, though I’m worried it won’t be poc friendly (which doesn’t affect me personally but it’s still something that I take notice of). But since I missed out on the Pastel Goth and the Sephora Pantone palettes I’m really looking at this one

janine Avatar

I’ve never used Lorac before but these are all so pretty! I’m a sucker for pastels! They look great with a tan but I usually use darker shadows. These are so pretty I might have to try it!

And loving that pink highlighter and all the lip stuff!!

Hex Avatar

hot sauce, bloody mary, and sunday funday all look exactly the same. gluten-free, pancakes and moonlight likely will translate the same on the eye, and so will lavender and smoothie I reckon. I like pastels, but i’ve decided I’d rather buy single shadows of my choice rather than a whole pastel palette. but then, i take makeup too seriously haha i don’t like hoarding colours I won’t wear.
Actually if anyone remembers the Lime Crime Antoinette palette from back in the day, that looked good. but it’s no longer available and I don’t buy from them anyway.

MoMerrell Avatar

Ya know, I totally understand the love of pastel but come on now this looks like it will perform badly. This can only work a few skin tones if that. It looks chalky in the package. I get pastel lipstick and gloss but you can’t sell me on pastel eye shadow because I don’t see it performing well no matter the formula, it just looks cheap.

Cailee Mullins Avatar

Oh dear, if it’s on par with the Pro formula, that palette will be mine. I’ve never seen them do pastels before, so this will be interesting!

liz Avatar

[heavy breathing] I have been craving a pastel shadow palette for weeks now. I may or may not pick this up ($$$) but, I really like the looks of it. and if it’s really the Pro formula, it’s gotta be good.
