Looks - Talent Pool is Super Teal
I wore this look yesterday, because I figured it was time for a brighter look 🙂 I did a neutral look on Sunday for my sister’s birthday dinner (happy 18th!), but I’ll post that tomorrow!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Gilded Green pigment (cool pastel green), Talent Pool eyeshadow (teal), Deep Truth eyeshadow (dark blue), Smoke & Diamonds eyeshadow (gray with gold flecks), Femme-fi eyeshadow (cool neutral), Mystery kohl power (teal-black), Lancome Oscillation mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Nuance mineralize blush (soft peach)
- Lips: Style It Up lipstick (creamy nude), C-Thru lipglass (nude)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Gilded Green = Lucky Jade; Talent Pool = Shimmermoss; Smoke & Diamonds = Silver Ring; Femme-fi = Shroom; Mystery = Minted + Smolder; Nuance = Peachykeen; Style It Up = Cherish
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Gilded Green pigment all over the lid as the base with the 239. All over the lid, apply Talent Pool eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Deep Truth to the outer edge of the lid and dragging into the crease. Darken the outer crease with Smoke & Diamonds eyeshadow. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Mystery kohl power on lower lash line, and black mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Nuance using the 129. Apply Cherish lipstick to lips, and then top with C-Thru lipglass for color and shine.
Lovely ..U r looking a pure SEA BREEZE!!
Happy Birthday to ur sis !! 😀
Zzainy…
Thanks a lot, Zainy!!
I love the combo of blues/teals, it’s beautifully done 😀 I’m usually not a fan of teal-y colours, but I really love how you did this! It makes me want to revisit these colours 🙂
Thanks, Kella 🙂 Teal can be fun, though I’ll admit I don’t wear it as often as I used to!
I love this look – it’s gorgeous, and the colours suit you so well…they make you look so summery and exotic 🙂
Aww! Thanks so much, Victoria 🙂 If I could look exotic everyday, I would!
LOVE this on you. Can’t wait to try it! Waiting for Smoke & Diamonds to come through the mail 😉 Happy birthday to your sis, too! Ah, to be 18 again…I feel so old 😉
Thanks, Elle! I liked the bit that Smoke & Diamonds added to it 🙂 Worked well with the teal.
LOL, I turn 22 in under two months, and I feel a little old, but I’m also kind of nuts!
I love this look ! Teals are gorgeous on you. The lips really pull the look together nicely also. I’m still trying to decide if I need Smoke & Diamonds =/
Thanks so much, Ashley! I don’t think it’s a must-have – it’s nice, but it’s not terribly unique… at least not to the point where you couldn’t use a similar color in a look to get the same effect.
I really love this lipstick..i dont have anything like it, surprisingly
Oh, wow! It’s a nice color 🙂
This is gorgeous! the colors really suit you
Thanks a bunch, Gio 😀
This is a brighter look – but you pulled it off so well it looks natural! =)
Thanks, Jeannie 😀
This is beyond gorgeous! I was having issues getting Talent Pool to pop for me yesterday. I’ll have to try using a green base under it.
Aww, thank you! It looks great over the green base – what base did you use?
Lovin’ this e/s combo!! I like that you change up the looks here 🙂 Some neutral, some color, some bright, some subtle. very nice!
So… Talent Pool is getting all the raves (and I see why) but it also seems super duper close to Parrot. What’s your take?
I second that question..
Christine, can you swatch them side by side, pretty please?!?! :o)
Lovely look, greens and teals look equally great with your brown eyes *jealous*
Hi Eva,
If I get a chance, I will!
Thanks 🙂
Thanks, Ariele! I try, LOL, but it is hard to sometimes 🙂
It’s similar to Parrot – I like that it has more color pay off than Parrot, and it’s not quite as frosty. But they’re similar, and if you don’t wear Parrot a lot, no need to get Talent Pool.
Ooooh, I love this one! Good choice on the lip color too!
Thanks, Morgan! Glad you liked!
Such gorgeous colors!
I love teal, although the most I wear is a thin line on the upper lash line in an otherwise neutral look. But it is a start…
Your expression in the second full face pic is especially pretty!
Thanks! I like teal, too – it’s hard not to like it, LOL.
CHRISTINE, CHRISTINE, CHRISTINE!
You look incredible, babe!
I love this look on you! It really made ur eye color pop!
Aw, thanks, Sash! You’re too sweet!
*drooling*
Aw 🙂
Super teal, alright… looks gorgeous 🙂
Thanks, Stacey 😉
Love the look!
Would you say that Talent Pool is similar to Steamy because I wanted it but I already have Steamy and Parrot?
Nah, I wouldn’t say it’s similar to Steamy. It’s closer to Parrot! I’d say if you don’t wear Parrot a lot, you can skip Talent Pool.
man i just love this! i’ve been loving the neutral looks too….keep em alll coming honey! u cant turn back now. it’s like the highlight of my day to see ur looks!
Thanks, Charlene! I love doing neutrals these days 🙂
Absolutely stunning! You look gorgeous and I love the teals! How the hell did you learn to do your makeup so well???..lol.. I got this one so I’ll have to see if I can pull it off like you..keep them coming 🙂
Thanks, Susy! I just keep practicing, it’s a neverending process 🙂 But seriously, practice and just playing with makeup has gotten me this far!
Really pretty. 🙂
Thanks, Naomi!
super pretty
i love talent pool
I totally agree!
Thanks, Claudine! How have you been wearing Talent Pool?
It’s a beautiful look.. I’ll have to try it myself.. I love teals although I don’t wear them that often.
Christine did you use a primer before applying the pigment?
Hey Monica!
I use mixing medium with my pigments, otherwise no primer 🙂
Thanks!
oh wow. the colour is gorgeous!! and it looks amazing with the nude lip. love it! 🙂
Thank you, Viv 🙂
ONE OF MY FAVES!!!
YOU LOOK AWESOME!
Thanks, Vanessa!
I think you look beautiful, these colors really compliment you well. Question I had seen that Talent Pool was compared to Parrot, do you think Shimmermoss is a better comparision?
Teresa
Thanks, Teresa! It’s similar, but I find that it’s a bit more blue. Since I used a green base, it is greener (hence more like Shimmermoss), but it’s not naturally so.
I’m so new to this site… but I must say I luv teals!! N u really did such a great job of combining these colors!! This look is great! I have a question n plz don’t laugh, but what does (LE) stand for?
Thanks, Diane!
LE means limited edition 🙂
This is off the wall. Wonderful!
Thanks, Haydee!!
