Warm Purple Smokey Eye
About this Look
Confession: I couldn’t find my glasses today. I was worried wearing contacts would make my eyes red…so I decided to beat them to the punch and wear a warm pink & purple smokey eye.
On my face, I started with Nyx’s Dark Circle concealer in Fair. I wore Revlon’s Colorstay for dry skin in a mix of their two lightest colors, mixed with a little bit of their Skinlights in Bare Light, and their Photoready Cream Blush in Charmed. I use a bit of their translucent Colorstay powder under my eyes to prevent creasing and I contoured lightly with Nyx’s Happy Hour eyeshadow, and used the Wet ‘n’ Wild Shimmer Palette in Rose Champagne Glow to highlight.
For the eyeshadow, I started with a base of e.l.f.’s Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Soiree, patted on the lid and just a bit past the socket line. The inner corner highlight is a light pink mineral eyeshadow I’ve had for years; it was from an independent line called Hope Quest cosmetics, which is unfortunately no longer in business. I used a little of Sephora’s Geisha Kiss eyeshadow all over the lid for a warmer color. On top of that, on the inner third of the lid, I used a medium bright pink color from the Maybelline Color Explosion palette in Pink Punch, and on the outer two thirds I used the deepest color from the palette, a burgundy color. I also used a bit of the shimmery pale peach highlight color from the palette on the browbone. On the outer third of the eye and in the crease, I used the Black Purple color from Sephora’s Moonshadow Baked Palette in In the Dark. To blend out the Black Purple, I used Nyx’s Happy Hour. The mascara is Maybelline’s Great Lash in So Very Berry (which was unfortunately a limited edition color). My eyebrows were filled using e.l.f.’s brow kit in medium.
On my lips, I wore Maybelline’s Warm Me Up lipstick, with Jordana liner in Rock n Rose.
(Pardon the little lines on the photos with flash–I didn’t realize my phone’s camera would pick up the peach fuzz above my brows so well!)
