About this Look

I started with the intent of doing a simple, cool-toned purple, matte eyeshadow look, but something took over and all of a sudden I was slapping glitter on my eyes.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: used a sample of the Milk Soft Blur foundation as my eyeshadow primer (Medium - which is much too light for my skin tone and the other 3 I received from Sephora are even lighter) and set with translucent powder.

Palette: Kevyn Aucoin NudePop Pro Eyeshadow palette

Step 2: sweeped Canvas all over the lid

Step 3: blended Sculpt above my crease, this shade has to be built up for me bc it’s a fairly light shade for my skin tone, but it is very nice and a good shade to have in the palette. Then mixed a small amount of Sculpt and Canvas over the brow bone.

Step 4: blended & built up Hue in my crease. Beautiful shade.

Step 5: mixed Design, Sketch, & Sculpt onto my outer v and then began to take the leftover product on the brush up in the crease (only half way). Then used a clean blending brush to blend it out into my crease. Design is a very dark plummy purple and I didn’t want it to overtake everything. I took my time here bc I didn’t want this to become too smoky.

Step 6: I took a stiff pencil brush and blended a thin line of Design along the lash line.

*I had planned to stop here, do my base, and then complete my lower lash line, but my love of shimmery things took over.

Step 7: I used a damp brush to pack and buff Gleam Girl (Marc Jacobs See-Quins single glitter eyeshadow pot) onto my 3/4 of my lid, taking care to not go over the outer v. Making sure that it blended in seamlessly with the outer v by using the brush that I did the outer v work with and adding a tiny amount of Design.

Step 8: I took a thin, flat brush to focus Design as close to my lower lash line as possible. I blended that out with Hue, then a small of amount of Sculpt & Canvas.

Step 10: placed Portrait in my inner corner.

Step 11: used Milk’s CEO pencil liner to line my waterline and to tight line.

Lips: Hourglass I Woke Up

Foundation: Dior Airflash Spray Foundation in 501 (it’s pretty. But not worth the money, but I purchased it so I need to use it).
