Look - Super Simple Weekend Look
This was a look I wore last weekend, super, duper simple. I normally wouldn’t have even bothered with colored liner, but I really wanted to try out my Guerlain Lagun Bleu khol, since I haven’t had a chance to yet.
What’s your super duper simple look?
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Guerlain Lagun Bleu khol (teal-blue), Guerlain Bleu Cerise mascara (dark blue)
- Cheeks: Margin blush (dirty coral), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
- Lips: Sunsational lipstick (sheer gold-peach), Gold Rebel lipglass (sheer gold-peach)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Sunsational = Bronzer Shimmer + Tanarama; Gold Rebel = Love Nectar
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Lagun Bleu on lower lash line, and then apply Guerlain Bleu Cerise mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Margin blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Sunsational lipstick to lips, and then top with Gold Rebel lipglass for color and shine.

You lucky cow, you can totally pull off the no makeup look, you’re obviously naturally beautiful. Heart the lippies you’re wearing and the Guerlain Khol. I’m a huge fan of the Guerlain Khols and already picked up the Lagun Bleu. You’ve really worked it, I’ve only tried it on the waterline yet.
Can’t wait till thursday when Style Warriors comes out in the UK. I am so getting the lipsticks and bronzers.

Wow, I didn’t realise that Style Warriors was coming out on Thursday in the UK! So excited – I really want to check out Bright Future and Vibrant Grape eyeshadows, as well as Brave New Bronze lipstick.

It’s absolutely stunning on the waterline, richly pigmented.
Wore it in the eastern way today, with Nars Isolde duo on the lids. Really good look, especially with a nice tan.

I didn’t know that it could be used outside the waterline cuz that’s where I keep applying it. I also fell in love with the kohl powders and now own 3 of them: bleu, blue lagoon, and oriental metal. They are all gorgeous. Been trying like crazy to get my hands on the LE Guerlain kohl kajal noir intense…:-( Impossible to find!!!
I was wondering though, since the Guerlain kohl powders are richly pigmented fine powder (in a way, they remind me of MAC pigments) could they be mixed with a liquid medium and used as an e/s in the same way as the pigments?

I imagine they could be, though it doesn’t seem like it’s a good usage of the product, LOL, if only because it doesn’t seem like you get a ton, you know? But it wouldn’t hurt to try… 🙂

Hiya, I would like to recommend an eyeliner that is not by MAC but it is one I swatched and is a gorgeous teal colour but they didn’t have any left! 🙁 … Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Flipside 🙂 x
MAC technakohl liner in smoothblue is a beautiful teal. I wear it frequently in the summer on its own with some mascara and I always get compliments.

I like Minted. Aqualine liquidlast liner is fantastic, but it can be hard to work with.
Liquidlast liners sorta scare me a bit. I have Fuchsia-ism, Pop Iris and Greenplay and those things are close to impossible to get off. Aqualine is on my want list though after I saw a C Shock look you did with it. I think I may end up getting Peacocked Softsparkle Liner as my teal. I found it on EBay for a good price. I love eyeliners.
Try oil-based makeup remover to get it off, and I primarily will put it on a q-tip and take off liner just with that, for the liquidlasts. Even plain ol’ olive oil will do the trick! 🙂

Great look! I like simple looks for the summer and I think colored liners are the best way to get a fun, easy, colorful look without spending a lot of time and using tons of products.

have you tried the guerlain kohl the tradition/eastern way? i think they look best when used that way, where it tightlines and waterlines at the same time
How should this khol be used? I’ve always wondered (if we’re talking about the same little bottle).
you can use the kohl like a normal eyeliner, but it is very messy and i dont recommend it, so if you want to use it like a normal eyeliner i suggest dipping an angled eyeliner in the loose kohl and lining like you would with an eyeshadow. you can use it as an eyeshadow, and it wears like eyeliner.
the best way IMO to use this kohl is the eastern way:

It can be used how you like it, I don’t see any limitations on that! I imagine they intend for it to be used on the waterline and for tightlining.
I haven’t been able to do that, as my waterline is too sensitive and waters much too much to do it well, unfortunately.
Very simple and clean! I think it totally brings out your natural beauty! 🙂 How do you like Guerlain Kohl thing that you used for this look? I gave in for the quad (just couldn’t resist it!) and am now debating whether I should get the kohl eyeliner thing or not…. do you find a lot of use for it? Do you think it’s worth the price tag? BTW I’m loving your cheeks!

I like it, though I don’t know if it’s a super must have, you know? It’s so pretty, but I don’t know how often I’d wear it. You’d probably be better off buying a color (because the product is great) you’d use often.
I’ve been wearing a look similar to this lately. I love a natural look, but wanted a punch of color, so I wet a brush with Too Dolly and swiped it under my eyes.
Sunsational is so pretty on you.
