Look - Soft Yellows & Browns
This look is from last week — March 30th, to be exact — so still pretty much prior to getting hit with the nasty cold bug. I did a look this morning, and would you believe that it’s a similar look to this? I was like, “Geez, I finally put on makeup while I’m sick, and I end up doing the same thing!!” It was a little frustrating 😉 My wiggle-worm (aka Mellan) keeps wiggling onto my lap insisting I stop posting and get to feeding him, LOL. Hope your Saturday is filled with as much laughter as mine has started off with! 🙂
P.S. – If my face seems lighter than my body, it’s likely more an issue of SPF and reflection with flash photography (which is why I always advocate skipping SPF for any special occasion photography!).
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Rose Blanc eyeshadow (soft white-gold), Going Bananas eyeshadow (bright yellow), Texture eyeshadow (medium red-brown), Urban Decay Lucky 24/7 Liner (copper penny), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Refined mineralize skinfinish (peach-nude), Dior Coral Riviera blush (soft coral)
- Lips: Sci-fi Delity lipstick (raspberry), Chanel Candy Glow Aqualumiere Gloss (shimmery pink)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Rose Blanc = Nylon; Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Sci-fi Delity = New York Apple
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base. On the inner lid, apply Rose Blanc eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Going Bananas eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Texture eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Texture eyeshadow using the 226. Sweep Rose Blanc eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Lucky Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Refined mineralize skinfinish using the 129, then highlight with Dior Coral Riviera blush with the 188. Apply Sci fi Delity lipstick to lips, and then top with Chanel Candy Glow Aqualumiere Gloss for color and shine.

Very nice, Christine. Hope you are feeling better.
Thanks, Laura! Slowly but surely I am 🙂
this look is seriously gorgeous! i love how when you have such differences in the crease and lid colors, you don’t end up overblending like i do 😛 otherwise when i open my eyes you can’t see any difference! awesome job as usual 🙂
feel better!
Yay, thank you so much! 🙂 LOL, trust me, it’s hard to put down the brush and stop myself from blending more!
Amazing!
You are gorgeous!!!
Aww, you are too sweet! Thank you, Vivian!
pretty pretty love this !!!
Thanks, Melissa 🙂
:O
This is SO going to be the inspiration for my next look! I’ve been on a massive yellow kick lately 🙂
Ohh! Did you end up trying it?
Thanks!
I love the lips! Hope you are feeling better.
Thank you, Erin! Not quite 100% yet, but better than before!
Gorgeous! The lipstick is really lovely.
Thanks, Aubree!
Very summery!
Thanks, Rachael!
So pretty! Love the lips!
Thanks so much, Gio!
Beautiful color combo and that liner looks awesome with your eyes!
🙂 Thank you so much, Stephanie!
Oh this one is so pretty the colors go really good together.
Thanks, Heather 😀
Thanks for the tutorials with yellow shadows! I just bought bright sunshine, and am trying to figure out how to use it.
No problem, Andrea 🙂 Bright Sunshine is fab, you’ll love it!
This looks gorgeous! I love how well everything looks together.
Glad you like it, Sher! Thanks 🙂
I love this look! Is the yellow color you used part of the permanent MAC collection? I was in Macy’s earlier and asked if they had a yellow shadow and the artist suggested Bitter, which looks nowhere near yellow to me (more of a bright green).
Thanks, Tami! Nah, it’s not, unfortunately 🙁 Bright Sunshine is similar to Goin Bananas, but it’s only available at PRO stores. There’s no real great yellows in the perm line!
Thanks for posting this look! Texture looks so good with your amazing eyes. P.S. Your skin look so clear and glowing.
My pleasure!
My skin has been doing GREAT lately!! Thank you for noticing 🙂
Very pretty colours! You always look amazing in yellows and golds ?
Thanks, Stef! They are my safety net, LOL!
Very nice and summery. 🙂 The lips are just gorgeous! Hope you’re feeling better now.
Thanks, Anitacska! I’m on my way to better, but not quite there yet, unfortunately!
I really like this look. Prob one of my favorites. very soft and flattering. really like the lips too.
Thanks so much, Dawn 🙂 Glad ya liked it!
well I own bright future and as of yesterday I now have coppering..maybe I’ll get around to figuring out the reds, golds, and other orangy colors now cuz this look is very pretty. I have been slightly afraid of these types of colors for some reason.
You should definitely try them together 😀
ok well I got experimental and used something more subtle first before I break into bright future and coppering together…..I used creme de miel, coppering and a touch of star violet in there.
Christine do have looks posted where you used star violet? I want some new ideas and combos to try with that color so if you have any ideas please share. 🙂
I don’t own Star Violet, actually! You might want to look for looks with maybe Sketch or Cranberry (since they’re sort of similar). I’d use it with golds, purples, berries, wines, and warm browns.
