Look - Soft Pinks & Purples with Butternutty Shadestick

Here’s one more look featuring MAC’s Sugarsweet products! I think my next look will be using either Stila or Chanel’s summer quads 😉

Oh, and psst, I was interviewed by All Lacquered Up yesterday! 🙂

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Butternutty shadestick (neutral-pink), Sugarshot eyeshadow (frosty white), Pink Papillon eyeshadow (light pink), Dear Cupcake eyeshadow (pink-coral), Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow (fuchsia-purple), Club eyeshadow (dark green-brown-gray), Hush eyeshadow (soft neutral highlighter), Urban Decay Underground 24/7 Ransom Liner (dark purple), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Blossoming blush (neutral pink), Perfect Topping mineralize skinfinish (pale pink)
  • Lips: Sweet Thing lipstick (fuchsia-pink), Tasty tricolour lipglass (sheer dark pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Butternutty = Baselight; Pink Papillon = Pink Venus; Dear Cupcake = Paradisco; Blossoming = Well Dressed; Perfect Topping = no dupe; Sweet Thing = Lustering; Tasty = Palatial

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Butternutty shadestick all over the lid as the base. On the inner lid, apply Sugarshot eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Pink Papillon eyeshadow to the middle of the lid, overlaying Sugarshot slightly. Apply Dear Cupcake eyeshadow to the middle-outer portion of the lid, overlaying Pink Papillon slightly. Darken the outer lid using Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Club eyeshadow using the 226, then overlay with Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow in the lowest part of the crease. Sweep Hush eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Ransom Liner on lower lash line, then overlay it with Stars ‘n Rockets eyeshadow using the 219 brush, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Blossoming blush using the 129, then highlight with Perfect Topping mineralize skinfinish with the 188. Apply Sweet Thing lipstick to lips, and then top with Tasty tricolour lipglass for color and shine.

Really pretty. 🙂 Can’t wait to get Stars ‘n Rockets and Sweet Thing now. Oh and let’s not forget Perfect Topping. 🙂

Very pretty. Nice & soft but w/ that splash of spring color we all love. Great Look & interview by the way. Your reaching celeb status…LOL 🙂

I love this look!

Christine, do you think sometime you could do an “Old Hollywood” look just for fun? You have great coloring for it. I was thinking a brick red matte lip would look awesome! I’m trying to think of what book it’s in, but Kevyn Aucoin did a look on Janet Jackson that was slightly similar and it’s one of my favorites of all time. I’ll have to go through my KA books to find it again.

Just a thought! 😀

Oh, I’d never seen that look before! Yes, this was very similar, but I think Janet had gold lids and a deeper matte lip (maybe something like Del Rio by MAC?). But this look is wonderful too – the cat eye is perfection!

Oooh, this is my favorite Sugarsweet look so far, although I love them all. I was dying to see you use Sweet Thing, and you know I absolutely love pinks and purples. I just need to find a dupe for the eyeliner.

I’ll try that. I have a few purple eyeliners. Pop Iris Liquidlast, Iris Accents Softsparkle and Rave Pearlglide, so maybe one of those will work.

That is soooo pretty! I’ve been debating whether I need stars and rockets, but I think you made the decision for me. (Especially since I have that UD liner too!)

i love this look! I do have a question though.

It seems like in a lot of your looks, particularly the newer ones, you do heavier lining on the lower lashes, but little/nothing on the upper. Is this right?

I’ve found my best routine for it is to do a heavy lining on teh outer 1/3 of both upper and lower lashes, blending to minimal inwards. Do you try other shapes now and then, or is this one you’ve picked because you like the way it suits your face shape and eyes?
