Look - Darker Neutrals with Gold Mode
I really, really liked this look! 🙂 I’ve been totally loving more neutral looks, but I can’t let myself forget about all the beautiful colors I have in my palettes. If I had any holiday parties to go to this year, I think I’d do something similar to this!
How’s everyone doing today? What have you got planned for today? I spent all day at my mom’s house yesterday, so I have some catching up to do today here at my apartment. But hopefully I’ll have some time to maybe wrap a few gifts today 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Gold Mode pigment (coppery-gold base), Rose Blanc eyeshadow (soft gold), Patina eyeshadow (cool antique gold-brown), Woodwinked eyeshadow (coppery-brown), Bronze eyeshadow (dark brown), Make Up For Ever Bronze Aqua Eyes Liner (dark gold), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Enough Said blush (soft peach)
- Lips: Fast Thrill lipstick (medium pink with shimmer), Calvin Klein Taffy Lip Gloss (pink with gold shimmer)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Gold Mode = Indianwood; Rose Blanc = Nylon; Enough Said = bronzer; Fast Thrill = Bombshell
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Gold Mode pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Rose Blanc eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Patina eyeshadow to the middle and outer portion of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Woodwinked eyeshadow and drag into crease using the 239. Darken crease with Bronze eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep Rose Blanc underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with MUFE Bronze Aqua Eyes Liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Enough Said blush using the 129. Apply Fast Thrill lipstick to lips, and then top with CK Taffy Lip Gloss for color and shine.

OMG Christine! You and I must have ESP. I’m totally wearing almost the same exact look today…Patina and Bronze neutral eye with a neutral pink lipstick (Stila’s Ariel). Love it!

dark gold threeway!
Haha!! Great minds think alike 😛
did u trim your hair? it looks shorter..
Yes, it’s shorter!
Beautiful!!
What do you use for your brows? Do you use a wax or anything? They’re very pretty.
Thanks! I get them threaded every few months, otherwise I pluck and trim (brow scissors) 🙂
That is a gorgeous look!
Thanks, Katee!
Another fav for me, lovelovelove. 😀
Thanks a lot, Kella 😀

I’ll try!
This looks suits you sooo well 🙂
Thanks, Maria!
Hi Christine,
I love this look, especially the eyes. I would like to duplicate it but I only have gold mode and nylon 🙁 however I was wondering would you have any suggestions for a look using the pigments from the warm collection 🙂
Thanks so much, Tami! Hmm, you could use any goldish toned pigment. I don’t remember exactly what was in the Warm collection.
Very, very pretty!
Thank you, CeeBee 😀
wow hon u know i love the neutrals…i really really love this look!!
i don’t know if it’s too much to ask, but i dunno, cud u corporate in your ‘looks’ posts just one pic with all the products u used so we can see them? (it wud just be the eyeshadows, cheek and lip)
pls think about it!!!
🙂
Thanks, Charlene! I try, but I just don’t plan my looks so I just pick and go with what I have. My eyeshadows are all in palettes, and it’s a pain to remove them 🙁
Do you know how beautiful you are, Chris!?
Such a soft, subtle look, yet you look so radiant!
Aw, thanks, Sash!
This is one of my favourite looks of yours! Your hair looks damn cute, too.
Thanks a ton, Amanda 🙂 Glad you like the hair, too!
Love this look! I tend to wear coloured eyeshadows a lot but have been thinking of trying some more natural looks with beiges, browns, etc. This look has really inspired me to try something more neutral!
Thanks, Saira 😀
your eyebrows are super nice! do you still go to the threading place you mentioned awhile back?
do you always fill in your brows with powder? what color do u use to fill it in?
Thanks, Amy! Yep, I still go there–but I only go every 2 months or so. Basically, I try to maintain and keep ’em in line on my own, but I go back to get them re-shaped and perfected via threading.
I pretty much always use powder to fill in my brows! Right now I’ve been using Anastasia’s Brow Kit that I posted about a few days ago 🙂
