Look - Bright Summery (or Springy?) Greens
Green look for today! I really didn’t intend to wear eyeshadow–I was shooting for something short and sweet, mostly wanting to try out Honey Light high-light powder. I learned a few things today, though: line lower lashline before mascara, or else lower lashes clump together; do not put another mascara over lashes with fully dried mascara or else clump-city; and finally, it is hard to go green without REALLY going green. I ended up taking off the eyes and just doing black mascara (but kept the rest of the face/lips) 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral base), Juxt eyeshadow on (soft pastel yellow-green), Bio Green (medium green), Wondergrass eyeshadow (medium deep green), Humid eyeshadow (dark green), Femme-fi eyeshadow (soft neutral highlighter), Urban Decay Graffiti 24/7 Liner (green), Zoomlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Honey Light High-Light Powder (peachy gold)
- Lips: Chanel Monte Carlo Aqualumiere lipstick (pinky-gold), Chanel Tangerine Dream Aqualumiere Gloss (coral)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Wondergrass = Kelly; Honey Light = Drizzlegold; Femme-fi = Shroom
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Juxt eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Bio Green eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken the outer lid using Wondergrass eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Humid eyeshadow using the 226. Sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Graffiti Liner on lower lash line, and Zoomlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Honey Light highlight powder using the 129. Apply Chanel Monte Carlo lipstick to lips, and then top with Chanel Tangerine Dream lipgloss for color and shine.

Lol, I agree, it’s very bright! But pretty nonetheless. Also loving the lips. 🙂
Thanks, Anitacska 🙂
The cheeks just needed to be less orange-y, I think!
the lips are great…..greens r pretty too
Thanks, Susie!
ahhh i totally would have done this look yesterday! love it
lol! Thanks, Jess 🙂 My belated St. Patrick’s Day Look!
Yeah, it is super green lol. When I want to go green(or any color) without doing too much, I just use colored eyeliner. Super simple.
Beautiful look. Love the lips! would’ve been the perfect st. patty’s look. lol!
Thanks, Nicole! 🙂
Lip combo looks hot!!!
Thanks 🙂
It is very bright but I think it’s because you blend the crease color all the way to your eyebrows. I think I’ve noticed that in most/all of your tutorials… so it looks more dramatic and intense that way. There’s no room to put a neutral colored highlighter with this particular style of application.
But I like it nonetheless! I sported a green look yesterday – a very bold one – for St. Patrick’s Day. 😀
I was actually thinking the cheeks were just too orange to really blend with the look itself! I am wearing Femme-fi as a highlighter, which is neutral, but I guess you can’t see it, lol!
I HAVE to find out if I have those lip colors! Wow – totally love it!
Aaaah, they’re from the new Summer collection! Picked them up yesterday 🙂
I hope you do!
I did a similar look yesterday. Did you rock green y-day?
Nah, I didn’t, LOL. I meant to, though. This is my belated look!
This is very bright and beautiful! Love the lip combo!
Yay, thanks Gio!
I love the greens! You might like Fyrinnae’s Greens, such as Dragon’s Wing, Dragonskin, OMGWTF, and their newer ones. The lips look great, too. I love love love Juxt, and I normally like to pair it with black or teal/turquoise, and only recently tried it with another shade of green, but love it on you!
Thanks, Phyrra! I’m not really a fan of loose mineral makeup :/
Juxt is one of my all-time fave greens!
Lovin the combo girl!! Especially the lips:-)
Thanks a lot, Megan!
Where is the Honey Light High-light Powder from? I love the way it looks! and is Drizzlegold an e/s or something for the cheeks as well?
Naked Honey 🙂
Drizzlegold is a loose beauty powder available at PRO stores!
Oh, you hotty!!!!! I missed seeing you like this. Winter looks can be soo gloomy! You are summer! I love it!
Did you do your eyebrows for yourself? I love ’em.
x.
lol!
Thank you so much! Yes, my brows are done by myself 🙂
i have loved the colour of wondergrass e/s for sooo long already! but i can’t seem to get my hands on it even through MUA. 🙁
but this look is absolutely gorgeous on you Christine! very springy indeed! ;p
try ebay 🙂
yeah i’ve thought about it, but i’m too scared to purchase cosmetics off ebay! too many fakes out there – especially MAC 😛
Aww, it sucks that you haven’t been able to swap for it yet 🙁 Hopefully soon!
Thanks!
I’m not so sure about the High-Light powder for some reason…I can’t quite put my finger on it but it doesn’t look right with the eyes…I think I would’ve liked a more pink blush maybe…I’m still not sure what it is.
I agree with lil, something about it just doesn’t seem right; you look gorgeous anyways though. So this is what’s going to be the highlight powder released in naked honey? Look’s like I might have to get a backup.
It’s too orange in this look, which makes it look bolder than it is in real life (it didn’t seem to be too much when I looked in the mirror). It’s too much – the lips are noticeable and the eyes are bold, so I think it all competes instead of complements. I think the powder may photograph much like Other Worldly blush — OTT in photos but just fine in person (unfortunately!).
I really LOVE the high-light powder, but it looks like it doesn’t photograph so well 🙁

WOW, very bright! I think you look best in green eyeshadows!
Aw, thanks Rachael!
gorgeous smile!
Thanks, Kirsten!
I’m loving the lips … green e/s doesn’t work for me, but it is a nice springy look.
Why doesn’t green eyeshadow work for you, Margot?
Oooh, this is so pretty! It looks really nice and zingy with your eyes. I love green eyeshadows!
Thanks, Saira 😀 I love green too!
Love the wearing o’ the green, but sorry to say your mascara is terrible, too clumpy and does nothing for your pretty eyes!
I mentioned why that was in the beginning and how I learned some makeup tips 🙂
Where’s the honey light highlight powder from? Is it MAC?
It’s from an upcoming MAC launch — Naked Honey!
i love the lips! can you suggest a mac lipstick and lipgloss that would be similar? i wish there was somewhere to get chanel makeup close to me!
You could try Bombshell + Lychee Luxe!
I love this look! I need to get more better quality brushes so I blend better.
Thanks, Crystal 🙂 What brushes do you use now?
I have to get those lip products. They are gorgeous!
Oh, definitely, if you can, Colleen – get ’em!
It’s soooooooo beautiful!
Thanks a ton, Mikki!
I’m in love with these lips!! 🙂
Thanks, Rachel!
