Lip Lust: MAC Rockocco Lipstick & Hothouse Lipglass
I love Rockocco; it’s just such a vibrant shade of orange-based red. I don’t wear it often, as readers prefer bold eyes so I often lean towards those in my looks, but I wanted to wear it the other day, so I pulled it out. I actually look quite terrible in Rockocco alone–the orange-based red does not suit my skintone/face/anything about me. It just reminds me of “clown red,” rather than “sexy red.” My favorite way to make a lipstick wearable is by pairing it with an unusual suspect aka gloss. Hothouse works for me, because it’s a purple-fuchsia color, pigmented enough to change up the color of a lipstick once overlaid.
Possible dupes include…
Rockocco Lipstick
- Clinique’s Red-y to Wear
- MAC Russian Red (though blue-based)
Hothouse Lipglass
- MAC Magnetism Lipglass (LE)
- MAC Ms. Fizz Dazzleglass (LE)
- MAC Flashmode Lustreglass
Pretty!
Thanks, Lydia!
Bold and beautiful!!!!!
lol! Definitely, Sidra! Thanks!
Wow! That looks so sexy! Is this a new lippy/lipglass?
They’re both pretty old, unfortunately 🙁
I tend to wear less eye makeup and more lipstick so I like to see the different liplooks. When you show an eye look, I always check to see the lips you’re using to see if it would work for me. This is beautiful but a big bright for me. But someday maybe… Thanks for showing this.
You never know 😉 I used to hate bold lips, but the more I put them on, the more I like them!
i feel the same way about rockocco!! currently i’ve been using it with cult of cherry lipglass, but now i think i’m going to try it with a dazzleglass when they come out. thanks!
Ohh, let me know how it goes!
Were Rockocco lipstick and Hothouse lipglass LE?
Yes 🙁
so pretty!! i could never pull it off though.
All lies, Danielle. You KNOW you could 😉
OMG!!!! that is such a beautiful beautiful lip color!!!!
I knowww! I love this combo.
I love Hothouse.. I actually bought it because you were wearing it with so many looks when it first came out! Very nice combo.
Oh, wow 🙂 I love Hothouse, too. I gotta pull it out more often.
