Lancome Kitten Heel Color Design Eyeshadow

Lancome Kitten Heel Color Design Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.042 oz.) is described as a “golden peach-y pink” with a shimmer finish. This is one of my personal favorite Lancome shades, because I’m all over any peach-pink eyeshadow! What I like about this one is that it is decidely pink with a golden sheen; often, these types of shades lean more orange (think MAC Melon pigment). I love that it’s more of a yellow-toned pink as the base color with the golden shimmer-sheen. The closest dupe I could think of was MAC Goody Goody Gum Drop which is similar but slightly cooler-toned and with a less noticeable golden sheen.

The texture is good, but it could be a touch smoother; when applied to the lid, it seems to be better than swatched. It’s not bad, it truly is good, but I think the texture has a little room for improvement. This is a great one-and-done shade, though, and it has more oomph than a beige/champagne wash of color does. Bonus? It could totally be used as a blush or highlighter. Lancome’s eyeshadows are supposed to be long-wearing (without a base), and while I don’t quite achieve all-day wear, I get around eight hours with subtle creasing, but I don’t have any creasing issues if I use a base underneath.

I thought of Mac’s Expensive Pink as soon as I saw the picture, but I suppose it is a bit different. The swatch also reminds me of NARS ‘Orgasm… must be nice to use as a blush or highlight too.

It’s much more pink when swatched than I’d have expected looking at it in the pan (where it looks awfully “close enough” to MAC Naked Lunch or All That Glitters). Pretty shadow, and I love the name.

I completely agree! The Strawberry Fudge Duo is my favorite shadow ever! They look ALOT alike, but Strawberry Fudge is prettier in my opinion! Plus, its cheaper 🙂

Lovely! A bit pinker than the Coastal Scents shadow/liner called Ignite (reminds me of this one)…and say, a very pink version of MAC Beachbound lipstick. Great color.

Ohhhh I am suck a sucker for peach-pink e/s shades! Urban Decay X is almost my #1 favorite e/s, along with NYX Chrome in Geisha, so I may have to grab this to add to my peach-pink collection!

Yay… I have only two eyeshadows that I would consider “staples” if I had to forsake all other colors, and this is one of them. The ultimate go-to color when I need to get ready quickly and wear something that will be flattering with whatever else I put on.

Finally! The perfect pink! I’ve been searching for years for something similar to this color, but everything I came across resembled Urban Decay’s X or MAC’s melon pigment. I know this is going to be my one and only shadow I hit pan on after purchasing it. I’ve never bought anything from Lancome before so really hoping it doesn’t disappoint. Thank you for reviewing/swatching this. You made my day 🙂

wow, i have this shade in one of the gwp quads, and never thought much of it, but i also don’t think i’ve used it right. now i really wanna give it another try. your swatch makes it look gorgeous! and i can see what you mean by using it as a blush…albeit a very shimmery sheeny blush!

I have this color; It’s amazing! Even I can’t make it- or me- look anything but good in it. Goes with everything! Even green will dance with it politely. Pretty sweet with Nars Outremer too.

i love this eyeshadow. i got it in a sample and then bought the big size. the only thing is i feel like the big size is poorer quality then the sample.. it falls out so much

I grew to like this color but it took a lot of trial and error. It’s the first eyeshadow I’ve had that works better when applied with the cheap sponge applicator versus MAC’s 239 brush. It looks great with MAC Copperplate in the crease and Smut in the outer v.
What I don’t like about it is that it seems to REALLY emphasize the fold of my lid. I have a slightly hooded eye and even when I just apply this to the inner half of the eye it becomes plain droopy looking.
