Quick Review: Lancome Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner

Edited @ 8:26am: Fixed photos!

Lancome Artliner Precision Point EyeLiner ($29.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a liquid eyeliner with a nifty applicator that makes lining much, much easier than traditional brushes of liquid liners (which can be too thick, too long, too flexible, or too stiff!). They have a slightly watery texture, which means they glide on easily and never skip, but they may need a layer or two to look opaque. The applicator is a foam tip is pointed while having a little bit of give and flexibility, and you never have to worry about too much product on the applicator.

  • Noir is a dark black.
  • Navy is a medium-dark navy blue.

While the applicator is fantastic, so is the formula itself. It wears all day without smudging or budging, but they never feel dry or tight on the lid. When I tested it, it seemed waterproof, too, but I didn’t see that noted in the official description, though it certainly seems quite water-resistant at the very least.  If only the price weren’t so steep–even for high-end, it is an investment.

Welcome to Swatch-all-idays! To start 2011 off on the right foot (or post, as it may be!), Temptalia is going through a backlog of products we have photographed, swatched, and often tested but in a slightly different manner. Quick reviews may be partially incomplete, such as a blush may only be swatched on the arm rather than shown on the face. It is our hope that what we are able to provide is still helpful!

I got the black in a gift set and LOVED it. This was before I was being diligent about checking out issues of animal testing, though, and Lancome is sadly on the bad list 🙁 I still use it because I don’t believe in throwing things away (e.g. still wear leather shoes from before I decided to give it up) but I won’t be repurchasing. I’m hoping another “nice” brand makes something similarly foolproof one of these days.

Artliners happen to be my absolute favourite eyeliners ever!!!! It wears for hours!!! I don’t find it water proof exactly, but definitely water resistant. My only gripe with this product is that I don’t think you get enough for the price.

YES! I was just going to put this. I actually bought an Artliner and it did NOT last that well. Tried L’oreal Lineur Intense – allergic. Tried Maybelline’s Line Stiletto – amazed to find my HG of liquid eyeliners. It lasts alllll day on very oily lids without flaking or fading. I’ve truly been amazed by this product.

I like what you said about never having to worry about too much product on the applicator. I love the look of liquid liners but I hate that I always have to dab it on a tissue before applying to get rid of the excess product. It’s such a waste! I also like that this looks easy to use since my hand isn’t the most steady. $29 is really steep for a liner but as you also said, it’s an investment.

I’ve been using this stuff for half a year and I can’t see ever going back to pencil liners, or even other liquid ones. It IS definitely pricey, but imho…it’s a nigh-flawless product. Plus mine has lasted for a long time already with no sign of letting up, so! I was pretty nervous to use it too as I’d never even tried liquid liner before, but after maybe 1 or 2 practice runs I’d gotten the handle on it and now it’s just simple. Love it love it love it!

I’ve been using this for about a year and a half (in noir). I absolutely love it!!! Although, the limited edition sparkling noir, I wasn’t impressed with and unfortunately I bought 2 of those.

for those who like this liner, see if you can find a Designer Fragrances & Cosmetics Company Outlet (DFCCO) near you. They sell Lancome stuff around 20 or 30% off retail (think CCO for MAC), and every once in a while they do special deals. sometimes the special deals are for less popular shades though (like i got the vibrating mascara in bronze and gunmetal for $15 each last xmas) but it’s still definitely worth checking out.

I’ve been using this liner for about 4 years now and I loooovvee it. It’s the only one I’ve ever used that doesn’t budge during the day! Love it love it love it

If you’re looking for a cheaper but near identical alternative, try L’Oreal’s Carbon Lineur Intense – the tip is exactly the same, application is the same, etc-but it’s at a nicer price point. I love both of these eyeliners, they actually make lining easy.

I reaaaally want to love this eyeliner, I love all the other products Lancome creates. I even collect its blush subtils but this eyeliner severely smudges on me. The black paint never sets, it runs from my upper lash line through my cheeks. I’ve never had something like this with another product 🙁
