Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow TriosKaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trios ($21.00 for 0.09 oz.) are compact, sparkly eyeshadow trios that come in four variations. I saw ’em when they popped on Sephora before, but I wasn’t racing to try them until I saw Tara (one of my favorite people to watch on YouTube!) talk about how sparkly and shiny they were — sold! bought four! and here we go with swatches!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I’ve been wanting to try this brand for a while, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. Seeing these swatches definitely helps me make a decision on which colors I should get. Their swatches on Sephora weren’t that helpful to me. I’d rather have a straight line than cutesy design swatches. I’m excited for your review.

I disagree. I don’t think a cosmetic of such size and resources would intentionally obfuscate any of their products. The studio lighting when they do these product photo shoots is incredibly different from the lighting a person has at home – inside or outside. That said, I don’t think that the choice to use studio lighting is made with the intent to distort a product’s integrity, rather, they’re trying to show you as much detail as they can possibly through a camera lense and into your computer screen.

Seems like the best light is natural light; however, I think that would be viewed as less professional and thus is left for internet bloggers to cover.

Just my thoughts.

Sorry pretty. I’ve been meaning to pick one up, but I keep forgetting with all the new releases that come out. I saw Tara’s reviews, too, and they’re so sparkly! I have to get one.

I saw these at Sephora and thought they were really cute. I love that the packaging shows a color on the outside vs the other stack (Melt) that they all look the same stacked on top of each other. These were a smidge too glittery for me to feel like I’d wear them that often, but they were buttery smooth and really lovely (at least swatched on my hand).

I bought orange blossom and sparkling rose a few weeks ago, I to saw them online and didn’t think twice about them until I went to sephora and saw them in person ???
They are amazing glass like sparkle . I am looking forward to seeing other products in the future. Definitely luxe level and the price point is decent as well??

Orange Blossom (lately, the air outside smells strongly of real orange blossoms!) and Rosewater are perfect looking for a sparky, yet non-convoluted look. I am definitely interested in seeing how and if you like them!

These are so cutely tempting with their packaging, but I wish they had some different colors than the norm such as purple or gray-silver. Pink is so over-done. I fear when we all look back on the 2010s we are going to associate pinky-red eyeshadow with it the time the way I think of blue eyeshadow and the 60s/70s. Not in a good way.

I hope not! I know I’ll look back on every trend fondly, because at the time I enjoyed it, which was the whole point!

Considering Kaja is a Korean brand, it makes sense for them to have those colors. Pink and red eyeshadows are not a fad but the norm in Korea, partly because that’s how makeup traditionally was worn in olden times, at least in theatre.

I’ve eyed these (and all the Kaja stuff) every single time I’m in Sephora. They’re adorable and a relatively good price. I don’t know why I haven’t made a purchase yet.

Christine, (only if you don’t mind), would you share who are some of your favorite YouTubers?
You are my number 1 source for makeup-purchasing decisions. Lisa Elridge is the only Youtuber I follow for tutorials.
I’m just curious who you turn to (I hope my question is not considered nosy, it’s coming from a place of trust)

So, I don’t personally turn to YouTube for makeup reviews (it’s one area of my life that I don’t research ahead of buying!) – I tend to watch popular YouTubers to keep up with the community in general, and then I have some that I consider, at the very least, internet pals, that I keep up with as well (like we interact outside of YT) – but leaning toward get ready with me, tutorial, or lifestyle content. If I know in advance that it’s an in-depth review, I usually avoid that type of content or if I know it’s featuring a product I’m going to review soon or hope to review, I’ll skip it as well or skip that part of the video.

Here are just some that I watch regularly: Chloe Morello, Sam Ravndahl, Nyma Tang, Katy, Jaclyn Hill, Tarababyz, Fleur deForce, Gina Shkeda, NikkieTutorials, Linda Hallberg, Karima McKimmie, Jamie Paige, Raw Beauty Kristi, Too Much Mouth.

Like you Christine, Tara is one of my favorites hence my referencing her so often here on the blog. I was worried with my no/low buy that watching her Saturday night haul videos would be too much temptation for me but luckily I have been able to resist while also keeping on top of luxury makeup releases. Not to say she doesn’t do DS but most of her purchases are HE. I saw her swatch these and knew that at some point they would be mine. I love the pinks of course. I do feel like the lightest shade in each of the stacks lack a little base pigmentation but it may be that it is just a very pale shade. Actual reviews will help with that and could just be the lighting of the swatches. I am excited though because I have never met a shimmer/glitter that I didn’t love and these looked wet on Tara’s arm when swatched. Thank you for such quick swatches, Christine.

I’d love to see a review of their new Moon Crystal cream eyeshadow in the squeeze tube. I love the packaging, much less mess with a thin tip than sticking your fingertip into a pot! But I’d love to see swatches and know if the actual product is good.

I wish the shadows matched the outside packaging colour better. All the colours are so bright, even the darkes colours are more like mediums. The eyeshadow colours felt so MEH when compared to the packaging.

I’m so happy to see you reviewing these, Christine! I, too, saw Tara’s video and thought these looked so pretty, but I was worried about the sparkle factor. Now that I see your swatches, I know I can make it work. Rosewater shall be mine 😉

These look so pretty.
Does anyone know if the bran is on any other retailer than Sephora?
Sephora.com doesn’t ship to EU countries it seems 🙁

Thank you Christine.
I’m not sure they ship internationally, I sent them a message asking. If not I’ll just drool, like I do when you review BITE lipsticks. 🙂

I bought rosewater when they were first released last year and it’s a darling trio.
I havn’t used it in a while, so thanks for the reminder.
I do seem to remember with the lightest sparkle, champagne cream, it’s best to use glitter glue.

I was so impressed with the formula of 3 of these stacks that I saw instore, I picked up ORANGE BLOSSOM! I can use it without a primer as well if I’m in a rush for a short day look. 😉

Is there a lot of glitter fallout?? I want something shiny and sparkly and fun but I found the marc jacobs glitter pot shadows had SO much fallout. Also- for anyone with brown eyes, what color would you suggest??!

I have brown eyes and a bought them all lol everywhere I go I get compliments and asked what are you wearing on your eyes?! I apply with my fingers then use my crease brush to bond them out and perfect the application a bit more. I use the Tarte eye primer pencil under mine or just foundation, no powder! They last all day no fading no fallout!

These shadows are amazing! I first saw them on Babsbeauty and decided to give them a try! I love them so much that’s practically all I use daily lol I put the Tarte eye primer pencil or foundation on my eyelids first and apply right over that with my fingers. Then I use my crease brush to blend them out and perfect the application. I experience No fallout or fading they lasted 10+ hours on me!

I own rose water, it is beautiful. It leaves a sparkle and shine that I love. I need to pick up some more colors. Thank you for the swatches.

They contain borosilicate glass, which is safe for use in cosmetics. This family of ingredients is found in many eyeshadows from brands like Urban Decay, Marc Jacobs, Stila, and Pat McGrath (and those were just the first few I looked at).
