Items of Intrigue, Vol. 006
It’s amazing how many new products roll out each week–how any one person could actually keep up with them all seems like an impossible feat to me! Here are five items that caught my attention this week:
- Sedu Icon Prive Dryer ($700.00) might be one of the most expensive hair tools I’ve ever come across. That’s not a typo, you know! I’d love to see this in action.
- Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Gentle Foaming Hand Soap ($5.50) is a new-for-fall scent, which I haven’t tried, and I keep my apartment stocked with these hand soaps. They’re almost as easy to collect as Philosophy Shower Gels!
- Hourglass Powder Brush No. 1 ($65.00) just made me aware that Hourglass made brushes. What? Where have I been? Now, I’m generally a big fan of Hourglass’ products, so I might just have to venture to Sephora to see if these are on display.
- Illamaqua Shimmer Blush ($24.00) is new for fall, and I’m eager to see how it performs against their matte blushes. I love that Illamasqua has a lot of matte finishes, but it’s nice to mix it up.
- Jo Malone Fragrance Combining Cologne Collection ($95.00) is something I’d definitely like to try — and I love the idea of small-sized scents, because I know it takes me forever to get through a bottle. And I really mean forever, because I’ve never finished a perfume.
That cologne collection is so pretty! I love little cute bottles like that 🙂 Nice compilation!
I have the sweet cinnamon pumpkin soap, and it’s lovely. It’s not overwhelmingly strong, and it’s also not overwhelmingly pumpkin-y.
B&BW Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is a seasonal favorite that has been around for a few years. It is hands down one of my favorite fragrances from that retailer. It just isn’t fall at my house until that comes out.
I’d love to see the Hourglass brush in person! I have yet to be disappointed by any of their other products that I’ve used.
I swear by Pangea Organics Egyptian Calendula cleanser, but I heard they released a cleanser for oily skin. I’m curious to know how that will work. My oily skin loves Egyptian Calendula so far, but does that mean the new cleanser will dry out my skin?
There are expensive, and there are outrageous. That drier is the latter. That is just ridiculous pricing.
The only intrigue for me is how a hair dryer could cost $700! O_o
Perhaps there’s button that allows you to change your hair color for a night.
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin has been around for over 10 years! I still have a stash from last year (like 8 or 9) so you can have ’em Christine! I’m very interested in that blush. Can’t wait to find a way to try it because my Sephora doesn’t sell Illamasqua.
If I had the funds available and the claims are true, I would be tempted to invest in that Sedu dryer. I would love to wash and dry my hair with more frequency (it’s extremely curly and frizzy, and near my buttcrack when straighten out). If it were to cut my drying time from 40 minutes to 20 minutes, that would be amazing! I don’t know about it cutting down drying time to 12 minutes though, the 70% that it claims. But I would take 20-25 minutes drying time any day!
I own Illamasqua’s Ambition blush, which is one of their new shimmer blushes, and it’s my all time favorite blush. On my NC20ish skin, it is the perfect softly “flushed pink” color on my cheeks and the shimmer is barely noticeable once applied.Like Illa’s other blushes, it stays on all day for me. I am not one who notices a big difference to my face after applying blush; I usually just use it to finish a look. But this one makes me say “WOW” every time. I could wear this blush every day, with any look; I feel like it really compliments my skin tone.
I wonder what a $700 hair dryer can do that a $50 can’t? Dry your hair in under 30 seconds? Turn straw into gold? Summon a genie from the realm beyond the howling abyss to grant your every wish?
Right!? It had better shoot out diamonds for that price!
Seven hundred dollars for a blow dryer? Please. No hair dryer is worth that much money; I don’t care how fast they claim it can dry hair.
The Hourglass brushes are amazing. I purchased two eyeshadow brushes from their line about four years ago and they’re still going strong. I’m not sure if they sell those specific ones anymore (the number 3 and 4) but I’m guessing that their face brushes are equally amazing! The Illamasqua shimmer blushes are nice, but they don’t leave a lot of visible shimmer on the cheek, which I find a bit disappointing, since it is a SHIMMER blush. Otherwise, they have great pigmentation and the purple-y shade Morale is quite unique.
o. m. g. and I thought my SIL was out of control with a $90 hair dryer. no way. but a lot of people say the clarisonic is overpriced and I disagree there. what I want to try this week is magnetic nail polish!
Oooh, if you do check out/buy the hourglass brush, please do a review! I have been tempted to get it for a while now. 🙂
I hope the price of that Blow Dryer is a typo. Even the greatest blow dryers are not that expensive. Kandee Johnson said the Sultra blowdryer was the best ever, and it doesn’t even cost half that, or a quarter that amount.
I love Hourglass brushes! They are amazing!
I’ve been intrigued by all the new holiday sets on the sephora website…and I’m curious about that hourglass brush
I had a really bad experience with Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin soap a few years ago. It was a limited edition release in a Halloween themed dispenser. I must have gotten a bad batch because it smelled terrible! I hope they fixed it.
Lol, I just bought a hair dryer for twenty bucks (Helen of Troy) and I’m happy with it. I couldn’t imagine spending more than fifty on one, let alone 700. I’m intrigued by the Hourglass brush too.
That hair dryer costs as much as my car. Does it turn your hair into gold??
I loveeee BBW handsoaps!! I’m using the creamy pumpkin scented one right now 🙂
The Bath & Body Works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin sounds amazing. I am going to have to check out their scent of that.
ha and people thought I was out of my mind for owning a 250 dollar dryer. Would love to see if it outperforms my T3. Shoulder length thick hair and I’m good to go in under 10, I dont think it could get much better than that!!
I have that hourglass brush and it’s awesome. It great for liquid foundation and/or powder. It can be a little heavy in the hands though.
The Illamasqua blush is really pretty!!
That Hourglass powder brush is flawless. It is my favorite product by the line, however ALL of their brushes are fabulous. LOVE them! I know they have them on display at Barney’s.
these are my favourite posts that you write!<3
i want to get illamasquas shimmer blushes, their matte ones are the longest lasting blushes ive used on my skin!
