Items of Intrigue, Vol. 004

Items of Intrigue, Vol. 004

Whew — there are so many new holiday products, kits, and sets coming out this month!  It can be so hard to keep up sometimes!

  • philosophy holiday shower gel duos ($15.00) are popping up, and it’s SO SO hard to resist! I just keep looking at the cabinet full of shower gels to keep myself from adding them to cart, but ahh!
  • Chanel Recourbe Cils de Chanel ($34.00) recently debuted, and as a long-time fan of shu’s curler, I am interested in seeing how this performs. Interestingly enough, one of the artists I saw working backstage at NYFW had this in their kit and raved about it!
  • Cle de Peau Vintage Holiday Palette ($125.00) looks gorgeous, but I am very curious to see if the product is as good as the design. I like that the exterior of the palette is designed, too.
  • Bobbi Brown Ruby Sparkle Eye Palette ($45.00) is one of several holiday palettes that have already launched online at Neiman Marcus. This looks so pretty in the compact, but I wonder whether there are fall out issues.
  • Guerlain Nuit d’Amour Eau de Parfum ($250.00) caught my attention from the elegantly designed bottle. I’m also a total sucker for orange + pink color combinations, which is really why I was like, “Oooh! Pretty!”

What beauty products have turned your head this week?

Ooh, that Cle de Peau powder is gorgeous! But the price, less so, lol. I’m currently lusting after the entire Guerlain holiday collection, so far I’ve managed to buy the blush/highlighter, lots more to go, lol.

I’ve always used the lash curler from H&M, and it curls fine, but my lashes naturally stick straight out, so they never hold the curl very well. I’ve often wondered if it’s the lash curler not doing a very good job (it’s almost too damn cheap), because I’d definitely be willing to fork out some money for a really great one if that was the case. I do have quite long and rather thick lashes, so I’ll need a good one! + a Chanel lash curler, that’s a totally luxurious item! 🙂
Does anyone of you have any experience in that area?

I have really short/sparse lashes, however mine ALSO stick straight out. I found that Tarte’s curler is the only curler that I’ve tried that keeps my lashes curled for most of the day. It’s my HG curler 🙂

Love the colors in the Bobbi Brown palette. That Chanel curler gets me every time – I have to stop myself and realize that it is overpriced, limited edition (so falling in love with it would lead to frustration when it’s gone), and I love my shu anyways lol

I love Bobbi Brown products, but unfortunately, the sparkle shadows fall out. They also tend to work better layered with other shadows. I hope that they’ve improved the formula, though, because those colors are amazing!

***CHRISTINE*** I don’t have a comment on the products.I just wanted to let you know(if you did not),that Temptalia was listed on the blogroll at realbeauty.com!!! They have a relatively small blogroll,so I was really impressed.Congratulations!!

What would intrigue me is seeing dolce N gabanna items here. None of the above items listed here intrigue me….the Philosophy bath products smell good, but produce wimpy bubbles…Sabon has better bath products….Chanel curler was listed in the previous intrigue post….Cle de peau cost too much….I can buy a week’s groceries….Bobby Brown’s is bleh…..the only pretty item is Guerlain’s parfum, but it’s too rich for my blood also..

I bought the Chanel curler yesterday and it works great! I had to (finally) retire my Shu one and I had to return the new Urban Decay one after bruising my eyelids with it. My item of intrigue is Guerlain holiday highlighter… I love peacocks! Oh, and the new Benefit highlighter… I love highlighters too!

Probably practically sacrilege considering the price difference, but the color combo of the Guerlain perfume reminds me of Viva La Juicy!

Things that I find intriguing, but can’t shell out money for right now include: anything Inglot, the new(ish) Shiseido cream eye colors (especially the brighter ones!), Armani gloss d’armani, and Lorac multiplex 3-D lip gloss!

I feel kinda bad paying over $20 for a single cosmetic product (unless it’s foundation), so these will probably stay there for awhile!

I really want the Giorgio Armani Master corrector and High Precision retouch concealer. Unfortunately (for my inperfections…fortunately for my wallet however), I won’t be able to get it until Thanksgiving weekend 🙁 I know they aren’t new, but I’ve been debating purchasing them for so long and my skin hasn’t been looking great. Sigh. It’ll probably set me back about $100. Ouch.

I’ve been interested in looking at so many different items I can’t remember them all! I am intrigued by the Clinique Black Honey collection, eyeshadow and lip items. I don’t know if they are unique enough to justify but Rae on The Notice makes them look beautiful:)
