This is a really hard one for me. I have a solid four or five blushes I use religiously…I guess I would say MAC’s Hipness. I think it would go with most looks. Runner up would be MAC’s Azalea Blossom, since I wear a lot of purple.

Hands down it has to be Urban Decay afterglow blush in “Fetish”. A great neutral balance of not to pink & not to brown. I used to be a loyal Tarte Amazonian clay blush user (Exposed, ofcourse), but for some reason it started looking chalky on me. Maybe the formula has changed?

In all likelihood, it would probably be UD Afterglow Blush in Rapture. It can appear cool or warm, seems to morph with whatever else is on face. A year ago, I would’ve said Nyx Pinched, which while I still love that one, it doesn’t have that crazy morphing thing goin’ on!
Now, if I owned TF Pink Glow, oh yeah, that would be it!

Nicole Avatar

You know Nancy, I have both Pink Glow and Rapture. I prefer Rapture a little bit over Pink Glow. Maybe it has to do with the packaging too -maybe. I’m not into the big “face case” . I tend to forget about it. But, Rapture wins here for me.

Nancy T Avatar

True, the size of it in that palette would *maybe* begin to be a pain, but I really hope that Pink Glow comes out as a single one day!
Of all my blushes that I actually own; Rapture is #1, followed closely by MAC Burnt Pepper (I have BP on today).

I feel like I’d go for something pretty tame as then it wouldn’t matter the season or situation, and so the first one that popped into my head was Tarte’s Exposed blush. It looks very natural on me and works with my super pale skin tone, and it’s buildable so I could be more heavy-handed if necessary.

Lindsay Avatar

I love that color tipsy! It’s the only color of that brand that I own but I won it in a sephora gift card giveaway! I picked that color, I’m so pleased that I did it’s so beautiful!!

Natalia Avatar

Hmm, a tough one. If only for a year, it would probably be Please Yourself from MAC (I know it’s a shimmer central, but it is not that apparent on the cheeks when applied with the light hand and the color really suits my skin tone) or UD Rapture.

Nars Doucer, it’s a very natural dusty pinky Brown on me and goes well with almost every lip/eye color combo I wear. I think I read somewhere that it is discontinued so I am going to take care of it like its a family heirloom.

I just hit pan on NYX soft spoken. Once I’m done with it (imagine actually finishing a blush) I’m going to try some of the MAC dupes listed as the lasting power is lacking. I would wear a blush in a shade like this for a year.

Ashleigh Avatar

I used to only have one blush- L’oreal true match in Precious Peach. I never got tired of it until I hit pan. I should repurchase that…
From my current collection, Tarte Exposed it what comes to mind!

Heather Avatar

Oooooh, this is tricky, because my most versatile blushes aren’t necessarily my favorites!

Probably Tarte Exposed if I chose a powder blush, and Josie Maran Coconut Water Gelee in Poppy Paradise if I went with a non-powder. The first is a neutral plummy rose on my VF-N/W skin, and the second is a sheer pink flush that stays put until I take it off. (It once survived a full day of snorkeling and other beach shenanigans!)

KJH Avatar

My question is WHO COULD DO THAT? It would have to go with red, purple, brown, nude, orange, and the rare pink. (Note the conspicuous absence of coral. I’ll leave them to you, Ms. C)
So, it has to be pretty innocuous, yet fit with a range of colors. Think I’d vote for one I almost forewent. Nars Madly. ‘Seashell pink,’ ? Not quite. Never got the color description, so didn’t look at it. When I finally got it, I found it very versatile.

Raeanne Avatar

Oooo… tough call. I would have to go with Urban Decay Indecent. It’s a matte peach, so I could cheat and add highlighter and bronzer to change the dimension of this blush. Plus it goes with every lip and eye combo. Hourglass Mood Exposure and Chanel Alazene are very close behind, but Indecent just inched ahead due to being matte. 🙂

Leslie Avatar

Chanel Pink Explosion. I have several pinks and plums and it’s always the one I come back to. It’s the most flattering on me. If I’m tired or not feeling well, it always lights up my face.

Anna Avatar

This may seem strange but my favourite blush is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting POWDER in Mood Light, not the Mood Exposure blush but the powder. I am so fair I make Casper look tanned. So this is perfect for me because it gives a super natural flush without ever looking clown-like.

Rachel R. Avatar

Tarte Exposed, because it goes with any makeup look. It can be worn lightly for a natural look or built up for more oomph. I can change the look of it with different color highlighters over it. It’s long-lasting.

Close second: Milani Rose Blush in Coral Cove. It’s super-flattering on me. It works with most makeup looks. It’s long lasting.

Erin Avatar

What monster would enforce such a rule! I’d go with my Armani Sheer Blush in #2. It wouldn’t last a year though as I hit pan on it last year! I need to find a replacement because it’s discontinued. It’s the perfect blush, it’s buildable, and it makes my rosacea covered cheeks look nigh on perfect even in a flare up!

Kat Avatar

Urg, this is so hard! I’ve gotten to love blush so much in the past 6 months or so. I’d have to say NARS Madly, it’s a beautiful finish, neutral enough to go with pretty much any eye or lip look, and yet has enough “oomph” to give my complexion some life back.

Vanessa V Avatar

Wow what a question… If I had to choose of all my blushes I think it would be Bobbi Brown Nude Peach, its a blush that when I take it out to use I have to force myself to put it away otherwise I’d use it all the time…

txabela Avatar

I have been using Bourjois cream blush in 01 for about 6 months now… practically every day. Most days I top it up with Rimmel’s humble Santa Rose.
( I have Mac and Nars, zpalettes with Benefit blushes, Tarte exposed and dollface in about 6 handbags, various Milanis, Maybellines, number 7, seventeen and about 10 little round pots by bourjois but the TWO above are what I have pretty much used this year)

Elizabeth Avatar

Guerlain – Power blush in wonder violet (Bloom of Rose – Rose aux Joues’ Blush). I’m also fond of Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Bronze when I want a more subtle color. Of the two – I would live in Guerlain’s blush hands down.

Maggie Avatar

Either TheBalm’s Frat Boy or Benefit’s Majorette. Both are gorgeous light peaches with a satin finish. They look so natural on my extremely pale, cool skin.

Elizabeth K. Avatar

What a fun question! I’d wear Smashbox Softlights in Prism. It’s the perfect super-pale cool pink for me and yet goes with everything.

Krista Avatar

Milani Luminoso! Nikkie from Youtube – NikkieTutorials loves it too! It goes with everything and also works on my light medium skin! I never would have thought I’d love a drugstore brand!

Ellen Avatar

Very few duplicate answers!! Only two I saw were HG Mood Exposure and UD Rapture and maybe Tarte’s Exposed!! It all depends on one’s skintone. I had a beauty supply store square shaped blush named “Santa Fe”, like the name, it was a southwestern palette type of shade, pinky peachy brown. I can’t even find it now, my poor organizational skills, but I never found a dupe for it. Closest might be MAC prism, doesn’t look like much in pan, but is beautiful on my fair skin. Maybe a drop pinkier or mauvier than Santa Fe, but close. If anyone knows of this Santa Fe color, and how to buy these no name colors, or a dupe for it. I’d be grateful!

MAC’s Full of Joy, I think really cool toned (lilac based) pale blushes work best with my NC15 skin, and I like that it can create pretty unique looks. Also I am a big fan of frost finishes. It is probably a limiting colour to choose but I like the unnatural look of it.

Kaitlyn Avatar

If I could pick one blush for a year I would go with Mac Melba. I wear it almost every day. It goes perfectly with my skin tone. I’m very fair with yellow undertones and natural red hair and freckles. Melba always gives me a great flush of color. I recommend it for all red heads!

Susan Dowman Nevling Avatar

I used to be addicted to Mars Orgasm but now there are several blushes I like, including Clinique Peach Pop, Berry Pop, and UD Afterglow in Rapture. Since I’m limited to just one, I’d have to pick Peach Pop by Clinique but I would pout for a year,I think. 😉

suzi Avatar

I have so many blushes that I love and I honestly change up my blushes very often. But if I could only choose one for a year, I would want to pick something neutral so that it goes with any look.

Stila Convertible Color in Lillium would be perfect, and I love it so much! I used this blush so much that the writing has rubbed off on the back of the compact. It is very well loved and I will repurchase when I run out completely, even though I have tons of other blushes! 😀

Artemis Avatar

NARS unlawful, no annoying gold shimmer blends so easy and despite looking bold in the pan suits my pale skin well. However I do love a blush so it is tricky.

Candice Avatar

I’d go with Luminous Flush from Hourglass (the one on the left of the 3-blush palette). It’s my go-to. I like a subtley luminous blush and this one suits me best 🙂

IRockFaces Avatar

Nars albatross or taj mahal. They go with every makeup look no matter what, they also eliminate the need for a highlight since they do both, and you only need one tiny tap to do your whole face. Nars blushes for life.

Emily Avatar

What a difficult question. I tend to change up my blushes for the seasons but maybe NARS Oasis, I just bought it and I love its pinky nude plum tone. It also has some shimmer so works as a highlight. I almost picked exposed but Oasis just is a bit more special.

Violet Avatar

I think I’d go with Sin by NARS, although this is a hard choice due to me loving so many and sometimes you need something stronger, darker, and/or something more natural, more cool or warm like a pink vs a coral to match the rest of your look…

I decided finally on Sin because NARS makes the best blushes in my personal opinion, they stay on long and true to color and also because Sin is just my perfect color! I can go very natural with it or build it up for more drama and it has a very slight, very natural sheen to it. Finally, I chose Sin because if it just happened to be my only cosmetic product I could apply it everywhere, not just my cheeks but on my eyes and lips as well and look great!

(Runners Up were NARS “Crazed” at #2 and NARS “Mata Hari” at #3 and NARS “Deep Throat” at #4, and finally, from the LE MAC Hello Kitty Collection, is “Tippy” at #5 to round it out to a solid Top 5!!)

It’s gonna sound a little boring but it’s my go to blush when in a rush or when I can’t think of what to wear and that’s blushbaby by Mac. On my nc15 colouring it adds a flush of light natural flush that it just goes with everything.

KK Avatar

I went about reading all the replies and was wondering how often would NARS O pop up – but it doesn’t seem to be very popular.

My pick will be MAC Blushbaby – its like a no brainier shade OR Becca Beach Tint shimmer soufflé in Watermelon/Moonstone – which gives a very natural looking flush.
