If one song could express how you feel about cosmetics, what would it be?

Well, I had a tough time coming up with an answer, but I have been listening to Christina Aguilera’s “Fighter” recently, and you know, it does fit. Participating in the beauty industry has toughened me up in many, many ways – in ways that I don’t think I would have experienced otherwise.
Thanks to Dinitchka for today’s question! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
Thank you so much for using my question, Christine 😀 Odd thing is, I don’t remember asking it :/ LOL!
My song: Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are
Why? This song is straight to the point … YOU are amazing just the way YOU are! With or without make-up I am amazing!
Lady in My Life by Michael Jackson LOL
The first one that comes to mind is No Doubt’s “Magic’s In the Makeup” because, well, it’s about makeup!
” You are so beautiful “
West Side Story- “I feel Pretty”
I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity Any girl who isn’t me tonight. I feel charming,
Oh, so charming It’s alarming how charming I feel! And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I’m real. See the pretty girl in that mirror there: Who can that attractive girl be? Such a pretty face,
Such a pretty dress, Such a pretty smile, Such a pretty me!
Hard Habit to Break by Chicago because I can’t break my cosmetics habit.
For me, its always depends on the mood of the moment.
If I am feeeling La Dolce Vite esque its – NO DOUBT COOL.
If I am feeling very late 90s, (you know, vamp lips and yet having a ethereal tempo to it, its – FILTER TAKE A PICTURE.
If I am feeling very happy go lucky and just beach like- SMASH MOUTH ALL STAR.
If I am in the nostalgic mode its – SUGAR RAY SOMEDAY
And finally if I am just feeling on top of the world and just like nothing can beat me, its for sure – MICHAEL JACKSON REMEMBER THE TIME/PYT.
hahahahahhaha…..
hm…Bad Romance? I’ll freely admit that I’m more attached to makeup than I should be, but I love it.
Lord help me, Jesus
Material girl – Madonna
I’m living in a material world and I am a material girl! XD
It would have to be “No Ordinary Love” by Sade lol. Well, this really is no ordinary love that I have for makeup!
I have to say that none really express how I feel about cosmetics per say (and I have a song for practically everything). I do have a few songs that make me think about makeup a bit, including “Natural’s Not In It” from Gang of Four:
The problem of leisure
What to do for pleasure
Ideal love a new purchase
A market of the senses
Dream of the perfect life
Economic circumstances
The body is good business
…
Coercion of the senses
I worry that it makes it seem like I don’t love makeup, but I do. I just always think about cosmetics, fashion, etc when I’m listening to that song and more so those lyrics.
That’s such a coincidence! I was dancing to that song with my son on Sunday! I guess the lyrics do fit this question.
Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald’s Cheek to Cheek.
It is a swedish song named Jag ska måla hela världen lilla mamma. Translation: I want to paint the whole world mama.
Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’
The beginning of How Lovely to Be a Woman from Bye Bye Birdie always make me think of how much I love feminine things like makeup! Also, maybe something like I Feel Pretty from West Side Story, great song to put makeup on to lol
Wow – that is probably the most challenging and most interesting question ever posted in “Temptalia asks you”…
After quite some thinking, my song would be “Unpretty” from TLC. “…But if you can’t look inside you – find out who am I, too – be in a position to make me feel so damn unpretty…”
that song from Flower Drum Song “I Enjoy Being a Girl!”
(I know men where MU now but for me, wearing MU is a fun part of being a girl.)
or “I Feel Pretty” from West Side Story.
“New Dress”-Depeche Mode.
Sometimes, especially this time of year, I feel my makeup stash is very superficial. It’s compounded with the fact this is the time of year I typically buy more due to the great values I find, and Fall & Winter collections are usually more appealing. I end up thinking the amount of money I’ve spent could have been put to use helping some-one with something they *really* need.
Andrea True Connection-More More More because everytime I watch reviews it makes my wish list that much longer
The song that I am listening to right now that I think express how I feel about cosmetics… “Toxic” Britney Spears lol… love it… love it..
“PERFECT” by PINK would be my anthem.
Singer Pink epresses my pink blush and pink lipstick obsession and with the right makeup i can often feel perfect !!
Also other songs are
“GLAMOROUS” by Fergie
“JUST CAN’T GET ENOUGH” by Black Eyed Peas
I think that “CAN’T LIVE IF LIVING IS WITHOUT YOU” by Air Supply would be exagerrating a bit though !!
The song that comes to mind is Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, no matter what others say, you are beautiful, and should love and accept yourself just the way you are 😀 .
Thriving Ivory – Day of Rain
Youre All I Need – Mary J Blige and Method Man or Marvin Gaye
Nancys Rubias – Maquillate ( a band from Spain, the song is about putting on makeup)
Nancys Rubias – Maquillate
it’s a band from spain. The song is about putting on makeup. Put on makeup when you’re happy. Put on makeup when you feel down.
It’s a funny and cute song.
I’m REALLY musically inclined but I have no answer for this. Possibly an empowering song, as I usually feel like I have my “game face” on when I’m wearing makeup, and can take on the world!
The first song that went into my head was ‘THIS WILL BE, AN EVERLASTING LOVE!! AHHH…’ and that’s all I know about this song, lol. I don’t know… I love that song ‘If I was a Rich Girl’, by Gwen Stefani, cause then I’d drop bills for all the things, but I just really love that song, it just reminds me of a girl dreaming for nice things and even though she doesn’t have ’em, it’s not gonna stop her.
Don’t Rain On My Parade. For not only the obvious (I mean really, who likes having the waterline eyemakeup run and go nasty under your eyes?), but also because I wish I could use more colour and be more dramatic with makeup without people asking me why, and saying I should use less.
Obsession….you are my obsession. Old 80’s song and the first thing that came to my mind.
