My Tips
- I always separate out the blushes that I always reach for, and then I keep them within reach or separated out so I can quickly find them when I need a go-to.
- If you have 384972934 blushes, you’ll probably need to do more micro-organizing and sort by brand, then color, or formula, then color.
- I think the best way is to organize by color or by undertone – so corals together, plums together, or warm-toned, neutral-toned, and cool-toned. Think about how you choose what blush to pair with your look – are you looking for a color family, an undertone, a general lightness/darkness? Then I’d organize according to that.
I don’t have a ton, so I depotted them into a Z-palette. Bronzers I keep together in one section of my makeup organizer in their original cases (Guerlain – how could I bear to depot them!)
How I organize my blushes:
Step one: have blush (this is an important step)
Step two: stare at blush collection
Step three: realize you have no idea the difference between peach and pink, and can barely tell peach and coral apart
Step four: marvel over how massive most blush pans are
Step five: get distracted by pets/internet
lol.. That was my laugh for the day! Thanks for sharing those awesome ideas hun 😉
This made my day!!!
Lmaooooo…..
Oh, Jarvis! I’m in a cafe and your post has me grinning like a crazy person.
Ya know what? — I think my organization is similar to yours. I definitely do steps 3, 4, and 5.
I can tell peach and pink apart … but peach, apricot, and coral boggle my mind.
Definitely, I’s my kind of organization, LOL
I keep the powders and creams apart, and them sort them according to brand.
YES! and then within brands, i organize them by color
I just have a handful of blushes, and they’re all pretty much in the same grouping (“dirty” pinks & plums), so they’re just kept in one bin, highlighters in another, and a third holds bronzers & contour products. I’m starting to outgrow my current set-up, so I plan to pull out all of my blush/bronzer combos, & split-pans, and place them in a fourth bin/basket.
My blush collection is relatively small so it’s thrown in with my other face products like concealers and TMs and powders.
I have a relatively small makeup collection so beyond my inventory spreadsheet I don’t organize my blushes. I actually commented because I’m interested in what are the blushes you (Christine) *always* reach for. Cheers!
I don’t have a lot of blushes necessarily, but in my drawer where I keep them, I separate them like this:
Keep my everyday blushes near the front. (NYX’s Terra Cotta in the very front, for example.) But the other blushes I don’t reach for that often get separated by SEASON rather than brand or color, really. The brighter pinks and corals would be summer-spring, and my bright red and plum toned blushes are autumn-winter. Since I don’t own too many, this system seems to work for me!
1. Bronzers, highlighters or blushes – Different products into different drawers.
2. Cream, liquid or powder.
3. Brand.
4. Shape of the packaging.
5. Color.
Well, that’s my current organization. Organizing is my meditation and I can to it again and again for hours… 😛
