I wear primer daily when I wear regular foundation. When I wear the UD One & Done, the primer is part of the formula so on those days, the answer is well, sort of – since it’s not a separate product. If I wear tinted moisturizer I do not wear primer.
My face is so oily that I have to use primer every day. I like Hourglass’, which is unfortunate since it’s so freakin’ expensive. But it’s the best one I’ve ever tried.
All day every day. Even when I’m not wearing make up. The oil control is also needed on lazy days!
i wear primer only when i use foundation 🙂
I only wear primer with foundations that require it, eg I can’t wear NARS Sheer Glow without primer or it just melts off my face. But I absolutely LOVE UD Naked Skin without primer, it lasts all day long no problem and looks better the longer I wear it.
I don’t wear foundation every day, but I always wear primer. I put it on, set it with powder, and I’m good to go. I just don’t like how foundation feels on my face, it’s never lightweight enough. Primer and powder make my skin look better without making me feel like I’m wearing a mask.
Only when I remember to use it! ?
Several of the BB/CC creams I use already include a primer so there’s no need to use them every time I wear makeup (which I used to do when I was wearing foundation). In the warmer weather, I don’t even need moisturizer with my IT CC and the one from Marcelle. But the crazy thing is that sometimes, even if I’m not wearing a foundation/CC product, I will put on primer because I love how it makes my bare complexion look.
I only wear an eye primer bc I do see results from wearing one under my eyeshadow but I do not see a difference with a face primer and most just make my skin oiler
I have to wear primer. I struggle to keep my foundation looking good with primer as it is, let alone without it! I’d be a hot mess within a few hours- well if I made it to two hours I’d be very lucky!
So yeah, a mattifying primer is essential for me! ?
Hi, Gillian! Have you tried UD’s B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray or their De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray? One of my daughters struggles with oily skin and she loves the UD sprays.
I use it every time I wear makeup, mainly because I don’t wear it to make my makeup last longer, rather to fill in pores.
I rarely wear it. I’m cheap and I think that foundation should work on it’s own. Now that being said I really emjoy the MUFE Nourishing.
Only when I remember to apply it!
The only time I don’t wear a face primer is when I’m wearing a powdered mineral foundation. I usually just use a mineral veil underneath as a “primer.”
I only wear a pore filling primer by my nose and cheeks. I use to always wear a mattifying primer, all over my face, but honestly I found that it really didn’t do anything. I almost always wear Nars ADLW foundation. Imo, not a friend to dry skin or very oily skin. My skin isn’t as oily as it use to be, luckily. Maybe I’ll start wearing primer more in the summer if I stick to this foundation.
I wear foundation every day but I do not use a primer for every foundation. But at the Moment I am trying the new primer from dior and it is so good that I will probably use it everytime.
I answered ‘Other’, because I occasionally wear primer, some ‘roll’ on me if there high in silicone. I might wear primer if my skin is flaky and dry so my base smooths over my skin better. I’m still experimenting with primers to see which is best for me.
When I wear a foundation that requires it, basically. So not with powder foundation, and not with cream/liquid foundations that look good on their own and last well.
I have yet to find a primer that can make my face not look greasy an hour after application. So, I only wear it sometimes, when I’m trying something new. I’ve yet to find a foundation and setting powder that doesn’t look greasy and settle into my fine lines around my mouth after an hour as well.
I use face primer all the time because then I get the most benefit out of my foundation and it makes my foundation last longer too.
I always wear a primer under foundation, but if I use a BB cream on its own, my routine changes. I won’t use primer or concealer and I’ll go for a more natural look. If I’m going to be in the sun for a while, I’ll wear an SPF 50 BB cream under my foundation in lieu of a primer.
I voted “Other” because I only wear primer sometimes, but not only for special occasions. I prefer applying foundation only over my moisturizer that’s all sunken into my skin because I find slippery, siliconey primers super uncomfortable and they tend to make my foundation break up faster than when I use no primer.
However, I do still like to try out samples or minis of primers and I do have the Nivea post shave stuff that everyone raves about. Occasionally, I’ll use that because it isn’t a silicone primer and I honestly don’t notice a difference. I guess I’m just not a big primer fan. 😛
I use a primer when I remember it. I do my makeup before coffee, so if I don’t choose all of it the previous day, I never remember!
I wear primer every time I wear makeup. I have dry skin that needs the extra moisture and smoothing to prevent my makeup from settling into fine lines or looking cakey by the end of the day. Primer is definitely a must have for me!
Since I discovered this great little primer in Japan every day!
Sometimes I wear it alone, without makeup, since it blurs everything and makes it look smoother. At least, the one I use does.
