How do you keep your lips hydrated during winter?

I’m indoors for the most part, and I also live in Arizona, so “winter” lasts about two weeks (where it is cold for a sustained period of time, lol), which helps! I use Sara Happ’s lip balm at night, and I use Jack Black Lip Balm in the day if I have time (I often just start testing lip products as soon as I get up).

Oh gosh….this is topical as my lips were so chapped yesterday… I have a very bad habit of picking my lips when they get chapped and that only makes things worse. I also have the feeling that masks don’t help – the paper fibers and constant abrasion – it’s sort of like rubbing your lips with a kleenex all day. Last night, I used some Fresh lip scrub to get off the bits of dead skin that would have tempted me to pick them off and then slathered on a thick layer of Nuxe lip balm (it’s one I don’t like much because it’s so waxy and ugly) but it really helped. I need to remember to keep doing it throughout the day, though!

I use the same product year round, Paula’s Choice Lipscreen, even at night… which for some might seem odd since it has SPF. I find it hydrating enough for any season, once it gets colder I simply need to apply it more often. Their balm in a pot is a very good option for winter, but I hate needing to apply it with my fingers.
Another “not so usual” thing I do is to apply moisturizer or face oil on my lips as well during my nighttime skincare routine… I’m already putting it on my face, so why neglect the lips?

I don’t change lip products with the season. I use Bite Agave Lip Mask (the discontinued one, still have nearly a full tube) at night. Daytime I use Supergoop Açaí SPF 30 balm before I go out and I reapply after eating. My lips have not been too chapped in the last year because I am often wearing a mask when outdoors to stay warm.

I’ve been using a Treat Beauty lip balm because I was finally gifted one that doesn’t smell or taste gross, and I want to use it up before it starts to. It’s been keeping my lips very soft and smooth.

I use my Laneige mask in Choco Mint at night when I remember to, again to use it up because it’s nothing special but it was a gift and seems to work – but so does a much cheaper lip mask.

Trying to find this product (Lip Slip) because it looks so moisturizing from what I’ve read. Having a hard time finding it. Sold out at Ulta – any other ideas of where to find it?
