For Tarte Cheek Stains, I either use my fingers to dab and blend, dab it straight on then blend with fingers, or apply and blend with a sponge. For something like the Benefit cheek tints I dab it on and blend it in quickly with fingers. Either that or dab it on a blush brush and buff it in.
Christine,
Do you think you could do a video tutorial on how to apply cream blush or cheek stains? I can’t seem to get it right!
I’m not currently doing video tutorials!
I usually tap some onto my cheeks that blend with a damp synthetic flat topped brush, the e.l.f. powder brush works great.
It depends. If its in stick form like tarte’s then I dab and blend, if its liquid like benefit’s then I’ll sometime dab and blend and something I transfer the product to a brush and apply it that way.
what a great question to ask, i need to know how to do it, everytime i apply a cheek stain, its like a big blotch of red on my cheek, and everyone asks did i get slapped or do i have a rash
Usually I just blend with my fingers, but the new Tarte Maracuja stains in the pump stain SO fast that I can’t do that. I’ve taken to squirting some on my polished thumbnail and applying with a duo-fiber brush. I haven’t tried it on an unpolished nail, but I’m pretty sure it would stain my nail, too. :o(
If it’s in stick form, I swipe it on and blend out with my fingers. I usually apply moisturizer first, wait until it sets, apply the cheek stain and then lightly apply my foundation over it, so that it looks like the color is a natural flush.
I like to use a stippling brush and blend it in with a kabuki brush.
As fast as humanlly possible for fear of getting “Aunt Sally” cheeks!
when I do benetint, i will draw a line diagonally upwards, from cheekbone to the ear tip direction (of course not extending the whole line up to my ear), then I blend it out really quick! Do it quick though, or else it’s going to leave a streak mark.
Like Christine, I also dab it onto my cheeks and blend with my fingers. I opt for cream formulas over liquids because they are easier to blend.
