Hourglass Ghost Collection for Holiday 2019 - Swatches
Hourglass Ghost Holiday 2019 Collection is a new, limited collection for the holidays that includes two cheek palettes (one with six shades and one with four shades), two lipstick duos, and a trio of Scattered Light eyeshadows. You’ll find swatches of the collection here!
Hi Christine, are the pans in the blush quad the same size as the six-pan palette? I know each pan is the same weight (0.04oz) but the publicity photos make the blush quad look larger – which would make it easier to get a blush brush in there! Thank you.
It just seems like they cut off the third column in terms of size.
That quad has my name written all over it! Even Brilliant Nude, because I’d use it as a highlighter. After watching Alicia @ kinkysweat explain that these are the same size as their mini’s and the cost per mini added up, I’ve had a change of mind when it comes to Hourglass face palettes. As a result, I’m no longer on a rant against Hourglass holiday palettes.
I am still mad at the cigarette holder looking MINI lipsticks sold at highway robbery prices, though.
I’m also loving that Scattered Light trio! Especially for Molton and Ray!
I’m a big @kinkysweat fan myself 😉
It’s an interesting departure from the norm in terms of packaging but very pretty in the promo photos nonetheless.
I’ll admit that the HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT PALETTE in Ghost here is the first edit palette I feel like I can use all the shades from…. but do I need it. 😛
I have purchased the annual Christmas Hourglass release for my daughter every year. I will be getting this palette for her also. This is the first time I have been tempted to pick one up for myself. I would be happy with the quad and will l.ikely get that. I love the lippie shades and the e/s’s. I have never really had a problem with the pricing of the Christmas palette. I mean if they priced it better I wouldn’t complain but I generally purchase because I like the shades and I like the formula. Having them all together in a palette is great from my perspective. I would be more upset if they charged the fee and then turned out a crappy product as some other brands have been known to do every holiday season.
I do really love Iridescent Rose from the larger palette so wish I could get that someway!!
Agree. I have past years’ palettes but this is my favorite so far, at least by look, tone, and swatch.
I’ll have to look up iridescent rose…
I was originally thinking of picking up the quad, but thank you thank you thank you..the swatches aren’t doing it for me… it looks very warm toned and coral.. I just picked up the Clinique trio and I’m in love with that so no loss here, just some money saved. I am however impressed with the swatch for Molten e/s. It looks beautiful!
This collection looks amazing! I love Houglass.
Very pretty collection!
Looks like a good quality holiday collection
Colour me underwhelmed. They look pretty in the pan but the swatches aren’t inspiring me at all.
Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla.
I have never been super interested in the Hourglass Holiday palettes before, but for some reason these ones are calling my name! Also I love the scattered light formula, so I think I’ll be picking up that set as well 🙂
The shades in the 6 pan blush/highlighter look fairly pale, but the Ghost one looks really lovely. The foil singles look amazingly beautiful. And I love the lipsticks, especially I’ll Forever.
This has cemented the quad as a must for me – brilliant nude has been on the want list for a while, and the rest of them look up my alley as well.
I have never met an Hourglass powder that I didn’t like, I have 3 of the last holiday palettes and I enjoy all of them but I think I might skip this years. The translucent plastic bottom is throwing me off. It may be shallow but I just don’t like the design. Maybe if I really apply myself and make some dents in the past years palettes I’ll be ready for next year’s offering.
Great to have some swatches though so I can be sure I know what I will be passing up!
I’m actually tempted to get one of the palettes simply for the variety of colour, despite the value! I’ve found I like having choices more than more product per dollar. They do look awfuly similar to previous palettes, so might be a nice way to sample their formula.
I’m curious to know if historically hourglass’s holiday collections are on par with their permanent products. Been burned by other brands inferior holiday collections before —tarte, too faced.
They’re much, much better than Tarte and Too Faced type releases. The thing I hear complained about the most is that you’re actually paying more money for the product you get when it comes in their holiday face palettes.
Odd question… can the Confession lipsticks be used without the refillable case thing? I like the colors but I know myself and I’d never take the time to switch to the color I want to use. Are they going to come apart in my purse or makeup bag without the case?
The refill could be, as it has a cap and base that have to be removed (so something for the lid to connect to), though I’ve never tried to travel with any so I’m not sure if it’s as secure as a typical case!
