I like the Boscia green tea blotting linens!Too bad they are limited edition 🙁
they’re not limited edition. just the floral packaging is
After the terrible NYX Birthday Sale earlier this year, I was given free Blotting Sheets. These work pretty well and, for a budget product, I think deserve some recognition. I don’t have an oily complexion, but I use it in certain problem areas (crease of the nose, chin, between brows on forehead) and have seen great results. It leaves my skin in those areas matte, which matches the other less problematic areas of my face. 50 sheets for $3.50.
My high end choice would be MAC Blot film. It gives me the same results. 30 sheets for $18.
I love the Clean and Clear blotting sheets. They do a wonderful job of getting rid of oil but don’t smudge away all your makeup (unless you rub instead of blotting). 50 come in a package and I think its $5-$6 dollars at any drugstore (so you don’t have to make a special trip to pick some up, another plus). I’ve tried a few other brands including Sephora’s and Mac’s but always come back to these.
The fact that they’re so readily accessible is definitely a plus. I’ll check these out.
I like these, too. The Sephora natural ones are also pretty good. (I did not like their charcoal blotting sheets- too small and ripped easily.)
Ditto!
The Clean and Clear blotting sheets are the best.
Cheap, kind to the make-up, good size, simple and nice packaging.
Definitely the best; there’s a pack in my purse permanently! I don’t like any of the ones with powder on them.
DIY tissue paper!
Palladio Rice Paper Blotting Tissues. I have oily/combo skin, half Asian. The tissues are large and you can use both sides. One side contains the rice powder, which not only absorbs the oil, but it also gives your face a bit of a touch up. They run about $4 at Sally Beauty Supply. I have tried many other blotting sheets and these are by far my favorite!
Ditto! I’ve tried many blotting sheets and these are the best! No scary “slapped with a powder puff” look either, especially when using the translucent powdered ones! Soaks up greasy patches and you are left with a smooth natural finish! Ahhh!
These are my favorite, too!!
I just tried these because of your Rave and my life is forever changed thanks!!!
CVS Oil Absorbing sheets. Work as well or better than the expensive sheets (Boscia, MAC) I’ve tried. $4 for 50 sheets!
I use the Sephora brand blotting tissues and they work fine. I can’t say I’ve ever used blotting tissues that were significantly worse or better than any other brand. The Sephora brand is $8 for 100 sheets.
In a pinch I have been using ELF Blotting Sheets and they work pretty well. Otherwise, I really like the Clean and Clear Blotting Sheets
Toilet seat liners! I cut them into little squares and keep them in a cute little case in my purse – they work really well and are totally free!
Umm, they’re not free. Someone is paying for them. Just because it’s not you doesn’t mean they’re free.
Haha thank you, that always annoys me when people say they are free. It’s like going in to the public loo and putting the toilet roll in your bag, taking it home and using it at home.
And it won’t make much difference to the public building buying these items in bulk from cheap suppliers if someone uses a few for their face instead of their ass… 🙂
Inglot!
I’m not sure they’re available in the US…
Palladio Rice Papers – they are by far the best, as they are covered with rice powder.
I´m sorry,my english is too bad.My favourite blotting sheets are from Clinique,I had others,like Sisheido,Chanel,Bourjois or Pond´s.I prefer Clinique´s.
I love Mary Kay’s papers: Beauty Blotters.
Shiseido’s Pureness Oil-control blotting paper…a bit pricey but works the best for me and my oily skin…!
Sephora and Clean&Clear seem to work fine but I’m curious to try the Tatcha asian ones. I keep reading about how great they are.
toilets seat covers
Really?
zig zags … there a dollar and do the job perfectly
this made my day as a sassy diva who used to roll her own!!! hahahahaha!
LOL! I have some on hand and will give them a try!
I have been using blotting sheets long before they ever came to the US. I have always like the Asian no-name brands better since they work just as well and they are much cheaper without all that brand name and fancy packaging. I just get mine from ebay for like…$3-4 for 300-500 sheets.
While blotting papers may have only recently become popular and ubiquitous in the US, they’ve been here for a long time. My mom has extremely oily skin and has used them since her 20’s, so for roughly the last 40 years. Her favorite brand isn’t made any more, but they were in a lavender pack, the sheets were larger than most on the market now, and cost just a few dollars for like 100-200 sheets per pack. Unfortunately I can’t recall the brand name, but I don’t think they were imported, just some small American company that made blotting papers.
I really like the Paul & Joe blotting sheets, they have cute little whales on them! They do a good job of absorbing the oil. I also like the Shiseido blotting papers too.
toilet seat covers or starbucks napkins!
I am with you on this one.
boscia are the best! i used clean and clear for a decade and tried out boscia one day. after i used all the boscia i thought i preferred clean and clear until i went back to them as they do make me more matte but realized too matte and the mineral oil in them made me break out in blackheads on my tzone. i would have never know until i switched to boscia
Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets, and any of the cheap drugstore derivatives (Walgreens, etc.). They are the best and they don’t take your make up off. I like how you don’t get the embarrassing rustling that you get with the blotting papers! My only beef is that they are bright powder blue so they are really noticeable, like “What is that girl pressing her face with?” LOL
clean & clear all the way!! I feel like they are more absorbent than other brands, so I only have to use 1 sheet instead of 2 or 3 sheets.
Clean and Clear sheets rock, but Target came out with their version of the Clean and Clear sheets, they are great as well and you get 20 more sheets.
Haven’t used blotting sheets in a long time. And I never actually liked any of the ones I tried. I don’t use anything to blot anymore, since I find I don’t really need to. If it’s necessary, I use toilet paper.
Also, the first type I used were the Clean & Clear, which totally broke me out and left my face really red whenever I’d use them.
Your English is just fine!!
Boscia blotting papers are my personal fave.
Clean and Clear work just fine for me.
I love Bobbi Brown’s blotting papers. They are huge and the case is so chic!
Starbucks tissue papers! (or any other recycled tissue papers)
Shishedo – just enough powder.
Have recently started using Sephora’s Bamboo Charcoal blotting papers and love them! They suck up some serious oil better than anything I’ve used prior. And my skin is EXTREMELY oily. 🙂
The TATCHA Aburatorigami (good thing i’m typing this instead of saying it out loud! teehee! ;)) – Japanese blotting papers are pretty good too! 🙂
I have been using the Clean and Clean one for years and I swear by them. I have oily skin and they are a lifesaver. It also helps that I can pick them up at any drugstore or Target. 🙂
I love the Clean and Clear brand….I’ve tried other brands too, but always switched back to clean and clear…cheap and does the job perfectly!
Taco Bell napkins. I am not even kidding. They are the best EVER.
