During the pandemic, I shifted towards skin care since I was hardly ever wearing makeup, but now I’m moving back to makeup as my primary focus.
Due to having to wear a mask and general boredom with makeup offerings, I’ve bought and used skin care products more than makeup.
Skincare. Truthfully, I was slowly headed in that direction the year prior to COVID as sort of a natural progression of aging and never having a strong skincare routine previously. I was also wearing less makeup in general due to it being an extremely hectic and stressful time in my life personally and professionally.
The start of pandemic and switch to teleworking (as well as the discovery of skincare youtube) just pushed me further into skincare much faster than I was getting there on my own.
Probably a bit more towards skincare, I think. Although I do still buy quite a bit of makeup, (in fact, likely TOO much) I’m taking much better care of my skin than pre-pandemic.
Makeup and skincare are two different things for me… but besides that, I was always happy with my routines and I didn’t change anything in the last two years. Except not wearing lipstick for a long while.
Skincare. Trying to wear sunscreen more often. I’ve only just recently started shopping for makeup again. Even then, it’s to replenish some things good to have on hand: concealer, lipstick, etc.
Skincare. Early pandemic most of the gigs scheduled were cancelled, that freed up time to research and try new products, and evaluate the usual routine.
Mid-pandemic some gigs came back, and the itch to try new techniques and add some joy by using color was a welcome distraction. Now I feel like using a few colors in an eye look is fun, not as daunting as it used to be. : )
During the past couple of years, living with the pandemic and our multiple lockdowns, I dedided I would still wear my makeup (with the exception of lipstick when I was out due to the masked situation) , but I also did focus on my skincare regime too. So to answer the question – I really didn’t change anything in a substantial way as makeup was still very important to me.
Shifted a little more towards skincare. I’m getting older so form and moisture matter a little more than color and decor. Not to sa the latter don’t matter as my eyes STILL desire color!!!
I have to say no, I use and buy the same amount of both, and I still try new products from both skincare and makeup. For me they sort of go hand in hand.
Skin care. Mostly because It’s been my focus for the last twenty years anyway, but also because the makeup world is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring right now. So boring. So uninspired. So obvious in its attempts to jack up prices on the same old same old with a new box cover.
Makeup styles come and go, but having good skin is ALWAYS “in fashion.”
I’ve definitely shifted more towards skincare for my face, body, scalp and hair. My health problems and becoming a hermit caused me to have to be more of a pragmatist and quit being enticed by all the pretty makeup I’d never wear. I even got an Omnilux Contour mask! I never thought I’d buy pricey skin care gadgets. I’ve worn far less makeup in recent years although I still spend a long time (post skin care), to put on concealer, foundation, time consuming dark lips only to put a mask and sunglasses over it. It just feels better or like armor.
Definitely skincare.
I’m applying face masks on a weekly basis, and using an SPF50 anti pigment cream every day.
As they say, makeup can only look as good as the skin it goes on.
I don’t think it’s changed much. I was always a bit more on the skin care since side since that’s something I do every day compared to makeup, which is more of a casual thing.
More skincare and facial exercises. Makeup also in a way- I know what works on me and I’m learning , I must say I’m really enjoying it.
