Guerlain Spring 2013 Collection: Cils D'Enfer

Guerlain Spring 2013 Collection: Cils D’Enfer

Meteorites Perles du Paradis ($70.00) (Limited Edition)

To illuminate skin with an angelic halo, Guerlain’s legendary pearls are getting a boost and coming out in an XXL limited edition size. This devilishly beautifying compact features six skin-toned and pastel shades. The traditional correcting colors – blue and green – have been replaced by pink, to brighten dull areas, and silver, to reflect ambient light and ensure one-of-a-kind radiance. Dark zones disappear, grayness is erased and fatigue vanishes. The face lights up and shimmers subtly, revitalized and instantly awakened, as if by magic. This sheer, refreshing effect embellishes absolutely every type of complexion. The soft, caressing, pale pink powder puff is topped with an elegant black bow in tribute to women’s inherently feminine flair.

Ecrin 4 Couleurs ($59.00) (Limited Edition)

Two exciting, colorful new harmonies dress up eyelids like never before. The four silky powders in each case can be freely mixed and matched, without worrying about applying them in any particular order. In a subtle play of light and shadow, of contrast and graduated intensity, each hue has just the right texture and nuance – velvety and delicate, slightly iridescent, or downright metallic – so they can be blended or layered to perfection, creating incomparable radiance under the unique springtime light.

It’s got nothing to do with the products, but I hate that promo image! The model is beautiful (and her name is on the tip of my tongue), but they’ve made her face look flat. It’s not a good look…

Ugh, I really do have a weakness for Guerlain. There isn’t anything I particularly need, not even anything I want that much — But I keep coming back to the release notes to see if I had missed anything. I can’t help it, so pretty! T_T

I find the Automatique packaging too flimsy and awkward, but those lipstick colors, as well as the eye shadows, are beautiful. So pretty. I’ll have to nose around the internet and see if there have been any pictures of the Le Crayon released. I haven’t found a lasting liner that really, really sticks on me.

I see many things here I want, including the Shine Automatiques, possibly the Rouge Automatiques. I’m a leetle concerned the Meteorites may be too shimmery for me, but we’ll see.

I saw olive green and lavender shade eyeshadow !!! If they are true to the pan then possibly need to prepare the splurge! Been hunting for these two shades for long!

That mascara looks gorgeous… I wonder how it compares to mascara G. All those beautiful colours and the only thing I can focus on is that mascara. LOL. I am such a mascara junkie…

Is it just me, or does the packaging look a bit 80s chic to anyone else? Not that I’m not a little in love with the 80s, but it seems like the 80s is back in full effect. Even the way they’ve photographed the model’s face with such contour to the black satin pump in the promo image of the mascara–it all looks like it could have been taken from a Cosmo my mom saved from 1988. I’m almost in just for kitsch factor alone.

Bibliospork Avatar

Not just you! I came to the comments specifically to say that. The hair, the nail color, her eyebrows… all scream 80s to me.

Of course, we’re far enough away from the 80s for this to be legitimate retro. I’m getting old.

Bibliospork Avatar

I just realized another reason it’s so retro 70s or 80s. It’s because her hand holding that mascara is totally posed to evoke a cigarette and in the US they don’t do print ads for cigarettes anymore. Seriously, look at it again and I bet you won’t be able to unsee it.

The model is stunning but it seems like her lashes were photoshopped! I don’t mind what looks like soft focusing on the cheeks (adds to her beauty and softens the contrast of her face and hair) but those lashes…

Bibliospork Avatar

Yeah, most mascara ads are photoshopped, at least some. This one is ‘shopped into oblivion. Plus they often have falsies applied before the mascara. Mascara ads are worthless, in my opinion. You can’t learn a darn thing from them. :-/

I already saw photos of the new meteorites on a few other blogs… And I think that they look a bit shoddy :/ Plus it’s a very bad idea to make them bigger (and more expensive, at the same time).

You don’t have to wait for this collection until January! Call the Guerlain Boutique in Las Vegas, they have most pieces except the Meteorites weren’t in last week. Might be in now or soon, she was expecting them some time this week. My order will arrive tomorrow, can’t wait as I love purple and fuschia!

Lovely promo! but please help, what is the color Natalia Vodianova has on her lips? It is lovely, I would purchase it in a heartbeat 😀 this collection looks amazing, is that color a shine automatique? Or a gloss? Or a rouge automatique? Just stunning!

Just called the Vegas boutique and they only have 4 left! They can’t ship to an APO address so thank God for Nordstrom.com! Yay! Just placed an order. So excited for it to arrive! 🙂
