I have 2 of the “lipsticks” (the quotations are because these really aren’t like lipsticks at all; even Revlon Lip Butters wear/last better) – Cherry Cape and Mauve Gloves. The colours are beautiful and these feel lovely on the lips (just like Revlon) but they seriously do not last. I am glad I got them for “free” using my Optimum points, otherwise, I’d be returning them.

A national Guerlain MA told me that Rouge Automatique is being discontinued and that’s what several European bloggers have also said (they got the collection months ago!).

We’ve had these for a while now. I quite like the lipsticks, the colour payoff is relatively sheer but not too sheer. There is sweet fragrance and a slightly sweet taste but I quite like it. It’s nothing sickly or overpowering but I suppose that it’s not going to appeal to everyone. I’d say that they are slightly hydrating and comfortable to wear. Overall they don’t beat Guerlain’s other lipsticks but they are still nice. My favourite out of the ones I have is Pink Ballerinas. ?

Total skip for me. First, I heard the lippies were loaded with the Petit Noire fragrance, and the packaging looks cheap. The black tube, clear plastic cap, and slanted flat top bullet totally reminds me of my Wet N Wild Megalast lipstick. And what’s up with that gimmicky-looking plastic heart at the end? Makes it look like little girls play makeup, looks like it will just snap off, plus you have to store it upside down. I always give Guerlain an A+ for their packaging, but this is very disappointing

Right???? Hey, at least the Guerlain bullet swivels all the way down, but the WNW one doesn’t, so I have to be verrrry careful when putting the cap back on, or I’ll slice right into the bullet (but hey, it’s a $3 lippie, so I can live with it!)

LOL. That “gimmicky-looking plastic heart” is one of the classic–and iconic–designs used on the stopper of Guerlain perfume bottles. Show that design to any perfume afficanado and they’ll immediately say, “Guerlain!” Just thought you’d like to know that it isn’t something Guerlain thought up for this lipstick launch. As for the rest of the packaging, I agree that it looks very Little Miss rather than luxurious.

Oh gotcha! I thought that heart-shaped tip looked vaguely familiar, but couldn’t figure it out. I don’t wear perfume (allergic to it), but now it makes sense!

I have red heels nail polish. It performs really well! Easy to apply, dries fast, lasts for 5 days but there is one big but for me- the scent! I have an allergy on it…

I was going to pre-order from Nordstrom but I was concerned that they may send me the wrong item or cancel my order because I noted a number discrepancy in their list of nail polish colors. I let my daughter pick a shade based on pictures and she chose Pink Button, which according to Nordstrom’s website is number 70 but Sephora lists it as shade 63 (although not yet available) and I saw a YouTube review by someone who said her favorite shade is number 63 (UK reviewer, I think and she named no shade names, just numbers). So I’ll just assume your information is from Nordstrom. But if are able to verify with Guerlain, maybe Nordstrom will correct it?

My reaction to the packaging is pure delight. I see that some people find it cheap-looking and are comparing it to Wet n Wild. I have no clue what Wet n Wild products are like but I get what Guerlain is trying to do here. I think the brand is beginning to find itself in the category of “old people’s makeup” in much the same way that Estée Lauder was. This is a move to reach and appeal to a younger market, in the same way that Estée did Edit and hired Kendall Jenner. A whole makeup line inspired by La Petite Robe Noire the fragrance is cute. The packaging mirrors the bottle and I think they did a good job making it look pretty. I’ve been hearing poor reviews based on longevity (low) and I agree with the reviewer who questioned such a delayed US release. But other than why did they take so long, I don’t necessarily think this is a poor release. Guerlain is known for luxe, with a matching price tag, so it’s going to be hard to crack the youth market that may or may not want to spend their money on this, especially if they are into budget makeup and they think Wet n Wild looks similar. Either way, I personally would rather give this to my daughter as a special gift than buy her Wet n Wild. As a receiver, I think it’s nice to know that someone splurged on your present. I just hope that it is a truly quality product and that Guerlain will not hire a Kendall Jenner type to market it. (No offense intended. I just don’t think it goes with the entire image of Guerlain.)

I should have read this before I posted. I’m not a perfume aficionado, and didn’t get that connection. That makes more sense. Thank you for the insight. I’m just used to the really cheap drugstore brands going with black tubes and clear tops, so that’s what came to mind first. I’m assuming Guerlain used higher quality plastics.

I am a little concerned about the fragrance and flavor that they added to the products but more so on the lippies (polish will just have the fragrance, obvs) than the nail polish. If you don’t like La Petite Robe Noire, the fragrance is definitely going to be a problem. Might be a little tricky to store the lipsticks too, if you have a problem keeping them on their side or upside down. At least with the nail polish, the fancy heart is removable. Having said all that though, I still think it’s all very cute. The deal breaker for me isn’t the packaging, it’s going to be how well the products perform.
