Giorgio Armani Runway Spring/Summer 2015

Inspired directly by the designs for the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2015 show, Linda Cantello, International Make-Up Artist for Giorgio Armani, developed a backstage beauty look. The Armani Runway Lab has a unique tool specifically designed to aid Linda in creating make-up looks backstage. Now these custom shades are offered to the public for the first time, through a collection that replicates the make-up look of Giorgio Armani SS15 fashion show.

The Armani Runway make-up collection features a range of pigments and textures used by Linda Cantello to create customized beauty looks and new colors while backstage. The concept will launch at the same time as the Spring/Summer 2015 Giorgio Armani fashion collection, at a selection of exclusive points of sale. Now everyone can enjoy and experience the make-up look of a Giorgio Armani show.

Armani Runway Palette ($125.00) (Limited Edition)

The precious black case – a fashion accessory in itself – is adorned with a moiré beige pattern that suggests wind-blown ripples in sand, and contains the face and eye make-up. There is a translucent powder, soft to the touch, which creates an even, matte complexion and enhanced facial contours. This precious powder containing lustrous, fine mica-based pearl leaves a satiny finish embellished with elegant pink and gold accents. A second pearl pigment, rich in borosilicate, brightens the skin, creating the impression of a shimmering champagne hue. Nestled beneath the powder are a trio of eye shadows in delicate, luminous shades of taupe, pink/golden beige and silver. These fine-textured eye shadows enhance the eyes all day, or all night.

Rouge d’Armani Sheer Lpistick ($40.00) (Limited Edition)

  • Runway Iridescent pink and gold

Nail Lacquer ($30.00) (Limited Edition)

  • Runway Shimmery brown

When are they gonna drop this format 🙁 I dont remember last time I thought ‘I need this’ and I used to be a fan of Giorgio Armani’s cosmetics. I wish they came up with something to-die-for, nto just another eyeshadow trio plus powder.

One of the reasons I’ve always been more into makeup than, say, clothes or shoes, is that it was always a much less expensive indulgence. But when I see $125 compacts and $40 (gulp!) lipsticks, I start to worry that I’ll be priced out of my favorite things in no time. Honestly, the prices seem to be going up faster and more frequently than ever!

That said, the colors are kinda ‘meh’ anyway…

Couldn’t agree more. Decades ago, I knew I couldn’t afford a Chanel suit so I thought, “but I can afford a Chanel lipstick”. Nowadays, one really has to ponder whether they really need that new lipstick or eyeshadow, at the prices they are charging. I’m now willing to just shell out any amount for the latest “pretty”. Tom Ford seems to have started it, maybe just to see if he could get away with it, and now others are creeping up their prices to ridiculous amounts. I know these are luxurious in formula, the cases, etc. but it still doesn’t justify these high prices, IMO.

Only thing I can really see me possibly buying if it rates well is the lipstick because I have yet to find the perfect nude, nude lipstick for me. Still $40, it would have to get a really spectacular rating a look amazing, wear well. The case is way over-priced for what it is IMO and OPI does it for nail polish for me and it’s about $10 or less.

“a fashion accessory in itself”???? Honestly, whom are they trying to kid? It’s a plastic makeup compact and while the contents look really nice, they don’t look $125 nice. A highlighting powder and 3 eyeshadows for this price….not for my budget!

$125 for that palette??? The shades look so boring and dupe-able. That lipstick color will only look good on a few people, the dark brown nail polish looks like a fall/winter color. Thank goodness their eye tints look amazing.

Whoever writes their copy did a good job of making the palette sound a lot more unique than it looks. Still, for $125 I want something that is either really unusual or that has more product–something that really feels like a splurge item. That nail polish is gorgeous, but a dupe could probably be found for a lot less money.
