Giorgio Armani Minuit (02) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a deepened navy blue with a satin finish. I would almost describe it as a pearl finish, but it doesn’t have that pearly sheen, yet it has a bit more shimmer than your traditional satin finish has. It was nicely pigmented with a thin, lightweight consistency that spread well and blended easily. On me, the color wore well for almost fourteen hours (out of the 16-hours promised), which was quite long, and I didn’t have any issues with fall out with this one (not surprising, given it isn’t sparkly).
ColourPop Etiquette (P, $5.00) is lighter. Kat Von D Estrella (LE) is lighter. LORAC Navy #6 (LE) is more shimmery. Chanel Metamorphose (44) #4 (LE) is similar. MAC Shop & Drop (LE, $15.00) is darker. Le Metier de Beaute Midnight Sky (P, $30.00) is darker. bareMinerals Climax (P) is a touch lighter. Bobbi Brown Blue Onyx (LE) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Giorgio Armani Jade (03) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a light-medium pastel blue with a hint of gold shimmer. This was one of the weaker (if not weakest) shades of the formula, because it wasn’t as pigmented as the others. It is buildable, if you apply in layers, but it just never went on fully opaque in one layer like the rest (it didn’t even seem watery). It spreads and blends well, but it tends to sheer out noticeably. On me, it lasted for twelve hours before fading noticeably. Sugarpill CandyCrush (P) is lighter. Make Up For Ever I210 Light Turquoise (P, $21.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever I204 Sky Blue (P, $21.00) is brighter. Dior Atlantique #2 (LE) is less shimmery. Dior Rivage #3 (LE) is cooler-toned. Giorgio Armani June Beetle (31) (LE, $33.00) is darker. Maybelline Icy Mint (LE, $6.99) is lighter. NARS South Pacific #2 (P, $24.00) is darker. MAC Styledriven (P, $21.00) is cooler-toned. MAC Divine Blue (LE, $19.50) MAC Free as Air (LE, $16.50) See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Giorgio Armani Shadow (07) Eye Tint ($38.00 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a cool-toned, purple-taupe with a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a very smooth finish. This particular shade seemed a little thicker in consistency compared to others I’ve tried. The texture was lightweight, blendable, and spread well across the lid without losing intensity, but I noticed that it almost too pigmented and a little goes a long way. If you over-apply and it dries down, it seemed to amplify the texture of my lids slightly, so there continues to be a learning curve with these. –the second time I tried it, I applied a little less and had great results without a fuss. It wore well for fourteen hours before fading on me. Kat Von D Darkstar (LE) is darker. ColourPop Meow (P, $5.00) is darker. Gucci Beauty Sasso (P, $37.00) is lighter, more sparkly. Giorgio Armani Organica (Left) (LE) is darker. Too Faced Nashville (P, $16.00) is lighter, warmer. MAC Fathoms Deep (LE, $19.50) is darker. MAC Great Beyond #4 (LE, $21.00) is darker. MAC 2x Dare #3 (LE) is darker, more sparkly. MAC Dangerous Cuvee (P, $18.50) is slightly warmer. L’Oreal Liquid Diamond (P, $7.99) is lighter. Inglot #434 (P, $6.00) is darker. Inglot #420 (P, $6.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

How do you apply and blend these, Christine? Fingers or a brush? If a brush, which one?

And if you dab the wand anywhere other than your eyelid, like on back of clean hand or on a spatula, is there enough time to grab some of it on your finger or brush and spread it on the eyelid? Or does it dry too fast so that applying to eyelid is the only way to use this?

Hi Di,

I just use a separate brush, since I am fortunate enough to have several on hand – I take the brush, pick up product from the applicator, and then that’s it. If I needed to go back, I’d use a different (clean) brush. If I had only one or two brushes on hand, then I would take the product and apply to a metal palette and use my brush on the palette. You definitely have time to work with it from there. They dry down to a powder finish, so I find they’re still rather blendable once dry! I use whatever synthetic brushes I have clean, but I prefer MAC’s 249!

Thank you! I just couldn’t find it… Maybe is under ‘face’ brushes. Will try to get it. I use the Hourglass All Over and the Crease brushes to deal with any cream/liquid. One to apply, the other to blend, but def need a smaller flatter one, so thanks again.

None of these is really my shade (MAYBE Shadow), but I really love how you used the three together! I am so close to blind-buying Green Iron now that you have given most of the shades your seal of approval 🙂

Oh, my, 12-14 hours without primer on normal lids?? My oily lids need these! I’m still waiting for all your reviews, but will probably buy Shadow (gray)- it’s not too dark and will make a great smoky eye. From looking at your eye pics, it looks like Minuit (the dark blue) can be sheered out, which is good. As for Jade ( pastel blue), the promo pic had it sheerly applied all around the model’s eyes, which looked good, so I don’t mind it being on the sheer side, but it’s not my kind of color

<3_<3 Shadow and Minuit <3_<3 Once again with that gorgeous contrasting/matching lower lash line… so pretty. 🙂

And yes, 'feh' is my alternative to 'meh' – I feel like it has that extra vague overtone of disgust/disdain as opposed to the pure indifference of 'meh'. 😀 I can get a lot into three letters, it seems!

I had to “run through” Nordstrom the other day and ended up buying 11 (Rose Ashes). It looked like the perfect almost nude slight shimmer eyeshadow. I tried it at home later and I’m not sure I love it. It comes off more pink than I thought (particularly close up) in the store and in some light, too yellow. I think I meant to/should have bought cold copper. Do you plan to review the other 4 shades? I hope so! Oh, and why do I feel more guilty returning a $40 eyeshadow than I would a $20 eyeshadow? 😉

Pretty but Im anti these types of finishes in general..maybe because the ones Ive tried so far have been very patchy. Havent tried these but…once bitten twice shy! I also dont like when I see different shades from a brand and some have an A rating and the others get a C. I know its super common but I cant stand that sort of inconsistency and to my luck its usually the shade that Im drawn to thats likely to be the dud!! Having said all that, I love that eyelook -esp the liner on your lower waterline – what colour is that?

I absolutely love 07..no surprise. I’ve been sitting on the fence with 03–jade. I was very attracted to the swatches and this shade is definitely not in my usual comfort zone. I tend to wear these as a one and done no fuss eye look. I thought 03 would be a good way to incorporate the ‘pastel’ trend into spring ’15 without going full on pastel powder eyeshadow. Jury is still out since it could be one of those shades that just sits in my stash unloved. It would be a rather expensive misstep and I’ve had my fill of those this month.

The more I see these, the more I like! Minuit is gorgeous! I think these would come in really handy in summer. Now, I am dreaming of beach and sunkissed skin..minimal makeup with a swish of one of these babies on the lids..perfection! They are pricey so I am happy they are permanent and it seems like the volume is a good amount. I do see at least a couple of these in my future. Thank you for reviewing! It seems there is quite a bit of difference in quality amongst the shades. That can be frustrating!

i love this look!!! what is on your lower lash line? it looks so bright and fresh with the eyeshadows.

do you think, maybe, jade is supposed to be sheer. when i saw the first mentions of the eye tints and the pics of the models backstage, jade seemed to be used as a fairly sheer wash. i was expecting them all to be quite sheer actually. can you build jade up at all without it looking textured? i find most of the shades i have can either be sheered out or built up and still look nice. the only one i’m having issues with so far is rose ashes.

O_O Minuit is GORGEOUS. I’m kind of liking Jade, too; lately I’ve been a total sucker for those light, mint-blue kind of shades because I don’t own any, but then I’ve been lemming Sugarpill’s Mochi for awhile, haha. Christine, did you at all feel Jade could read a little chalky? It kind of seems like it would. :/
