Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: The new UD Vice Lip Bond shades (I think there are four of them) along with a new Tower 28 blush!
Weekend plans: Later today, I’m showing a couple of new volunteers the ropes at the local rescue, and then I’ll pop by to see a few friends in the evening, after dinner with hubby.
Over the weekend, I’m going to rearrange my vanity a bit, tidy that area up, and kind of take stock of how I want to do things for the next few weeks for Temptalia. I also need to take Bailey’s pups’ 3-week photos tomorrow! Poor Bailey, she isn’t producing enough milk to begin with, but she is also exhausted and over her pups. I’ve been bottle feeding all 11 three to four times a day for the last few days because she isn’t nursing very much but even when she does, the pups will move from nipple to nipple, which typically means the milk isn’t flowing 🙁
What’s your favorite music for relaxation? I will listen to Spotify’s “Peaceful Piano” or “Chilled Classical” playlists! I go to sleep with Liquid Mind XI on repeat.
Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 Here’s a breakdown of what we have:
- Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
- Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
- Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
- Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)
This week's doggo photo/video...
Share your pet photos to the Temptalia Pets flickr group!
OMG – 11 puppies; no wonder she is exhausted and doesn’t have enough milk. Bottle feeding them can’t be easy for you either, Christine! What a shame that dogs have to go through this because of irresponsible owners or owners who can’t afford to spay (I may take some ire for this but pets are a serious expense and if you cannot afford it, please don’t get a dog, cat, parrot, etc.)
Recent purchases: nothing Rediscoveries – I’ve been LOVING the UD Beached palette from some years back. I was never all that wild about it when I first got it. Even Heatwave, which I though would be too orangey coppery for me, looks great. I even got a compliment from a saleswoman in the lingerie department of The Bay when I was out shopping the other day.
Weekend plans: we’re in the middle of an intense heatwave here (as most others everywhere are) so while I’ll be going to the gym tomorrow and Sunday, I want to stay close to home (and in the basement where it’s cool and where my sewing room is – I’m making 2 new dresses for my grand-daughter so it works perfectly). I also want to try out a new recipe for a breakfast strata/casserole that you prepare the night ahead so hubs will help me get that ready tonight for lunch or dinner tomorrow (it’s a bit heavy for an ordinary day breakfast).
Favourite music for relaxation: We have that Google thingy where you tell it to play whatever music or relaxation sounds you want and a while back, I asked for “relaxing sounds of a waterfall” and what it played was this mellow and lovely combination of music and water and it is the same music that was often played at my yoga studio years back during savasana (the google lady says “peaceful Zen music for spa, yoga and relaxation”). It’s lovely and has such lovely memories of my yoga studio pre-Pandemic.
Thankfully, they spent enough time nursing on her that they all latch pretty well, so they gulp down the bottle quickly! When I did the Yoga Poses, which were true bottle babies (no mama), it took about 45 minutes to feed the four of them, because they didn’t latch as well and were WAYYYY pickier (at one point, I had three different nipples to accommodate each of their preferences!). It takes me about an hour or so to feed all 11, so it’s not bad, lol!
Recent Purchases: Benefit Gimme Brow in Cool Grey. I also bought a bottle of Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere. I’ve never liked the original Chanel No. 5 because it smells like baby powder to me, but Eau Premiere is gorgeous.
Weekend Plans: Relaxing. Laundry. Discussing retirement plans with my husband.
I hope you get to relax this weekend Seraphine and that your retirement plans come together so that you can see an end date. I know that you have been working so very hard the last few years and that you must be quite exhausted. Thinking of you and best wishes.
Thank you so much, Genevieve. Although I have good days at my job when I really like what I’m doing, my health is starting to suffer because of the stress of the bad days.
Oops, I didn’t see the question about my favorite music for relaxation because it was under an ad! My listening habits change all the time. For relaxation, I usually go back to old favorites. Recently, I’ve been listening to Tori Amos. Specifically, the albums “Little Earthquakes,” “From the Choirgirl Hotel,” and “To Venus and Back.”
Oh my – these puppies are growing up and looking so healthy – thanks to your complimentary feeding. I can understand how Bailey is so exhausted and feeding 11 herself it just too much demand that she cannot provide enough milk for all of them. You and Shaun are doing a sterling job looking after them all.
Recent Purchases: Nada
Rediscoveries: Smashbox Petal Metal palette, CP’s Teddy Bare lipstick
Weekend Plans: My twin sister is now out of hospital and feeling a lot better. We are going to visit her again this Sunday.
Today will be spent just doing some housework and grocery shopping.
Little Charlotte is a bright eyed, very alert and awake little cherub and her sleeping patterns are still quite erractic, keeping her parents awake during the night. I have spent a lot of time at their place during the week, helping out with the mammoth amount of washing and folding of clothes and doing whatever housework that needs to be done.
Favourite Music: I have put all of my favourite artists on my phone (thanks to help of my eldest techy son) and now I listen to them when driving in my car through Bluetooth. Currently I am listening to one of my all time favourite singers – Emmylou Harris.
I’m so glad to hear that your sister is doing better. I forgot about Petal Metal! I should revisit it, too.
Hope your twin continues to do well. I’ve been watching some Aussie true crime….oooh, enough said. I think in the US we only know about Ivan Milat. Who knew his nephew changed his name to Milat and emulated his uncle? How do you unpack that one? I did succumb to lipstick day from Ulta. Two Bobbi Brown mauve crushed blah blah. The purchase that is wowing me in this heat wave is an evaporative cooling fan. Cool, not meat locker cold like at my Fri job. Rediscoveries: Winky Lux and the Saem concealers that don’t melt off. You’re lucky to have a techie. I haven’t figured out Amazon music and shuffling before the end of a symphony makes me want to huck out the iPad or phone. The Apple classical sounds interesting, but I don’t want to pay for something that adds more frustration. So, I’ve been YouTubing Vaughan Williams, Balinese relaxing music (not Gamelan) Handel Water Music, etc. It’s too hot for Wagner and the Valkyries, lol. I have zero experience bottle feeding dogs, but bottle feeding raccoons is tough. You try to get the tube into the esophagus and not the trachea and the little demons are using their agile little hands to defeat you.
I wish I could help feed those puppies! Mama & babies are beautiful.
I’m hoping to work on getting my makeup, crafty “office” in shape. It’s a work in progress. My youngest moved out a few months ago and I’m taking over. I need to just go get a daybed so I know where it and my desk/vanity will work best. Then I get settled and have a place to hide away, play with makeup, watch trash tv, Red Sox games (often trash tv this season!) and soon the Bruins. Maybe I’ll crochet once in a while too. Who knows!
For recent buys- I did a bit of retail therapy last week. I had gone to Chicago to visit my kiddo for 9 days and when I got home I was sad and Sephora seemed like just the place to cheer me up. No self control and a Sephora credit card are a dangerous combo, my friends!
I got the new Skylar Boardwalk perfume, a Sephora favorites perfume sampler, Hourglass hydrated skin tint, and a few blushes. GXVE blush duo, Dior rosy glow blush, Pat McGrath devine blush stick & the mini Atelier cream blush stick.
As far as music, I’m a child of the 80’s and early 90’s. If I could only put 5 artists on my playlist, right now I’d choose: old Bon Jovi, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Deadmau5 & Pearl Jam. That’s tough though. I usually play a random mix that has a song or two (or 10) on random. It can jump from Stone Temple Pilots to Elvis. : ) 80’s hair bands are always welcome!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I have a new Clinique Take the Day Off balm coming soon. I try to always have a backup, so as soon as I open a new one, I order the next.
I sort of rediscovered UD Naked 2, I seem to rediscover the first three Naked palettes quite often, but I don’t think I’ve used 2 for some time. It really a good one, I think. I just wish UD was still the stellar brand they once were.
Weekend plans: No plans, really. Gardening if it doesn’t rain. I also have to decide the patterns and material for a skirt I want to make. So far I have a pile of patterns on my table and that’s it. Maybe the pattern pile will just sit there until I put them away again. I don’t feel all that inspired to be honest.
What’s your favorite music for relaxation? I don’t think I have any particular favourite. It depends on my moos, it can be opera, or goodies from the 1980’s. When I saw 1980’s written it suddenly seemed a very long time ago!
