Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Dior Blushes, Fenty Beauty Summer collection, L’Oreal blushes

Weekend plans: I’m hoping to label some photos, possibly edit them (see how my hands feel, lol) today along with writing up a few reviews. I am volunteering on the spay/neuter mobile clinic, which is actually where my Yoga Pose fosters will be getting their spays/neuters done tomorrow. My parents have a little vacation over Father’s Day, so we are doing Father’s Day a week early! It works out as everyone can see my newest fosters (The Fabulous Ones – Freddie, Marsha, and Frida!), too.

What is your creative outlet? These days, not a lot, but if I had one, I’d still say eye makeup!

Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:

  • Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
  • Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
  • Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
  • Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)

This week's doggo photo/video...

Share your pet photos to the Temptalia Pets flickr group!

New Finds : Finally pulled the trigger on a Laneige lip mask — I like it! I can’t do super sweet fruity flavors, but on their own site they’ve got a Cherry Blossom scent. It’s VERY perfumey, but I kinda dig that. Does indeed last through the night! Ofc the day after it came in the mail, I discovered Lord Jones is shutting down, and their lightly grapefruit-scented lip balm is now $3 at 75% off (run don’t walk, etc). CBD doesn’t seem to do anything for me, but that’s a heckin’ fine lip balm for real.

Also at Laneige, got their Water Sleeping Mask, which … I was assuming it’d be thiiiiiiick and heavy, kinda like Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Mask, which I have to wipe the excess off before going to sleep lest I gack up my pillow. But nope, it really aborbs into skin and feels absolutely lovely, very light floral/water spa type scent, and a very generous size.

Finally, I’m on Day 3 of using the COSRX Snail Mucin serum thing, and that’s def a winner thus far. If you see a theme here, yeah, I’m almost 51 and in the throes of perimenopause and my skin is going full-bore bananas (dry flaky cheeks? wtf? SINCE WHEN?). Had to drop my beloved Guerlain foundation, which now makes my skin look like craaaaap, but that’s okay bc now I’ve got Salt New York Sneaky Balm and Ilia’s squalane-based tinted serum and all is right with the [makeup] world again.

Weekend plans = work, more work, a meeting, and re-upping my red/magenta hair dye and rebleaching bf’s hair. Gotta keep up our appearances as this piddly lil town’s Aging Punks. Oh, and we’re donating blood Sunday — apparently there’s a significant shortage in some areas? So if you’ve got time, hunt down a bloodmobile in your hood!

Recent Purchases: Clinique Cheek Pop blush in Nude Pop and Bumble & Bumble Light Defining Curl Cream, both are the first time I’ve tried these products.

Weekend Plans: Going to a party, seeing some bands play

What is your creative outlet? Making music

Nancy T Avatar

If I owned my own home, Crane and Warrior would be wonderful additions to my life! Not sure how my two kitties would feel about that, though….

Purchases/rediscoveries: Bought some of my usual HG skin and hair products. Drunk Elephant Protini Peptides Cream, Dr. Dennis Gross Advanced Retinol & Ferulic Triple Correction Eye Serum, Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Tea Tree Oil Co-wash, and BOGO free of the smaller sized same conditioner and shampoo. May be bringing those back and waiting on the July Liters sale instead. I’ve only opened and used the Co-wash. Also ordered some clothes. Black cargo capris, cropped light distressed denim jeans and a pure cotton knit nightgown.

Weekend plans: Zoom meeting tomorrow. Swimming, food shopping, not much else.

Creative outlet? Um….? Sounds like deja vu all over again! LOL!

Ooh, black cargo capris? They got stretch? I’m in the market so pls do share source if they’re still available/online! <3

Recent purchases: nothing Rediscoveries: MAC Dubonnet lipstick – I found a basically unused one in my lipstick bag and I’ve been wearing it every day this week. I really like how it wears – leaves my lips with a true MLBB stain as it wears off and that stain almost gets me through the day.

Weekend plans: my older son is home and we’re hoping to do some things together – gym, going to our favourite Indian restaurant (he and his brother love to take photos when we go there with just one of them and send the photos to the “absent” brother to taunt him)

My creative outlet (is this the same question as last week?) – sewing (clothing – not quilting because I don’t have the patience or precision and not making curtains, pillows, etc. because I hate measuring and calculating…) and cooking.

Genevieve Avatar

It’s great to read that you have found another lipstick that suits you well. Hopefully THAT won’t be d/c on you!
How lovely it must be to have your older son home and especially for him to see his niece, she would have grown and changed a lot since he last saw her.
I love Indian restaurants as well and I hope you all have a great time.

Also thinking of you all with huge bushfires that are devasting your forests, with the smoke and ash clouds. Are you, where you live, affected by these?

RECENT PURCHASES: I had hit the Laura Geller Friends and Family Sale and got two of the Baked Balance-and-Brighten Color Correcting Foundation in Porcelain, and Baked Blush-n-Brighten Marbleized Blushes in Coral Cove and Pink Grapefruit.

REDISCOVERIES: Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Dulce Caramelo. UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Roach.

WEEKEND PLANS:
Tomorrow we’re going to take my son and his GF to the Newport Aquarium, as we haven’t seen it since the remodel. Also, visiting the Seattle Aquarium got scrapped for various reasons, so this makes up for that.

Sunday will be chores, grocery shopping, etc. My son’s GF and I will attend stitch circle time at the local crochet shop. Son’s GF already crocheted a pencil case to keep her hooks in, and last night I helped her learn granny squares to make a tote bag pattern. I’m so proud of her!

WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE OUTLET?
Makeup and fashion, crochet and knitting, junk journaling, and home decor. Anything arts/crafts.

The puppies look gorgeous, so cuddly and playful. Best wishes for you attending the spay/neuter clinic, I think that is very brave of you.
Best wishes to your family on your early Father’s Day too. I hope your family is all well.

Recent Purchases: Nada – unfortunately there is nothing much to purchase around that I don’t already have – such is my collection/stash!
Rediscoveries: PMG Decadence palette.

Weekend Plans: It is our King’s Holiday long weekend here and we have nothing really planned. The weather has been quite cold and wet lately.
I caught up with my two best girlfriends on Friday and we had lots to chat about and it was fabulous. They both loved my new car.
Last week Olivia and Lachlan were in their school concert, which we attended, and it was really great. The teachers put in a lot of effort to get the kids ready for their performances and the costumes were sensational. Olivia especially liked having her makeup done by Nonna – I used the Decadence palette on her eyes and she thought it was the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. Lachlan only needed foundation and he hated it…..
My sister begins her radiation therapy next week and is not really looking forward to it.
Hopefully on Sunday we get to go out for a drive and a Sunday lunch.

Creative Outlet: Makeup and that’s about it.

Puppies are adorable. I want the little black and tan one, a good thing I’m not anywhere near Arizona.
I have to ask again, is it usual to spay/neuter puppies at 8-9 weeks? Here you have to wait until the male dogs are 4 months, and bitches should wait until about 8-9 months. I would personally wait until the male is at least a year old.
I know you have a problem with strays, and that this prevents getting more strays.
Some decades ago it was illegal to spy/neuter healthy dogs here.
How do the early spaying/neutering impact the grown up dog, do they get smaller, more puppy like when adult?
I’m sorry, I know I have a lot of questions, and it’s not makeup related, but many of us have and love dogs.
We don’t really have stray dogs here, we have dogs for adoption, but mostly because the owners can’t take care of the dogs one way or another. Some don’t read up on breeds, just buy a cute puppy and then it suddenly becomes a monster, as the owned didn’t realize that a Siberian Huskey needs to go out and run or go for very long walks, deprived of that they find other outlets for their energy. Just an example as I saw some Huskey mixes when I checked what type of dogs were up for adoption some weeks ago.
Anyway, back to makeup!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: Nothing purchased, can I say that I rediscovered UD Naked again. It’s such a gem of a palette.

Weekend plans: I keep looking after Stubbs the Schnauzer and his paw. He wants to lick it, and is not allowed. Did I mention last week that he had a toe amputated? He had and is now healing nicely, no pain and he is quite annoyed that our walks are so short.
I also need to do a bit of gardening, just de-weeding a bit.

What is your creative outlet? Didn’t we answer this just last week or so?
Makeup, sewing and planning my sewing, even the things that seems to stay forever in the planning state. Knitting, gardening, embroidery and lots more. I like to crochet, but it hurts my hook hand.

Ilene Avatar

Hi, I hope that Stubbs continues to heal well. It is very hard to keep dogs from licking their paws under usual circumstances but with the need to heal, even more so. My chihuahua Snowflake( my fourth child) is a licker and we have to intervene often.

Helene Avatar

Thank you.
He had all but two sutures taken today, he is still a bit swollen. We’ll go back Thursday to take the remining ones.
Snowflake is a lovely name for a petit dog. Sounds like a sweet little one. Just don’t tell her she is a little one. (Sorry if it’s a male dog. 🙂 )
Stubbs, who is big for his breed and stands his ground in case any other dog thinks they are going to invade his space, jumped at least four feet back when a Chihuahua girl told him he was to close to her human. Funniest thing, my tough guy getting scared away by this little one. Of course they don’t see the difference between huge and small dogs.
He also got scared by a rabbit when he was a puppy, a neighbour had this cute rabbit and we thought it would be fun to let them say hi. Stubbs didn’t think it was fun at all, neither did the rabbit, probably.
