Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: The MAC palettes I purchased from Ulta should be here, though I haven’t visually confirmed that (hubby often brings packages in).
Weekend plans: I’m headed out past Tucson, AZ this morning to transport a litter of 2-week old puppies to the rescue I volunteer with in Phoenix, so that’s about a 5-hour road trip (total). Hubby and I are agreed that there’s at least a 30-day break between fostering experiences, so I’m just the transporter for these babies, they already have fosters lined up! I’ll be catching up on some blogging this weekend, but thankfully, there isn’t too much to swatch from the past week!
Brag about something awesome in your life! I have a really amazing husband that I am so thankful to have. The whole fostering of pups thing is a me-project, and he tolerates because it makes me happy. With the recent mom + pups fostering, I did the majority of the work (which was the plan!), but while I was taking the pups back to the rescue yesterday, hubby completely took care of the puppy room. He broke everything down, got laundry going, cleaned all the potty boxes/fences/equipment, swept and vacuumed the floors, etc. I only asked if he could get a load of laundry going while I was gone, since there were going to be a few loads to do, but he did it all. 😱
Psst… since it’s Friday and we’re heading into the weekend, if you have some downtime, consider playing one of the games hubby and I have created! 🙂 You’ll find all of our games on Awordy, but here’s a breakdown of what we have so far:
- Adoptle (guess the name of an adoptable pet in six guesses)
- Concludle (figure out the subject within six clues)
- Mislettered (guess one letter at a time to figure out the phrase/quote)
- Word Frenzy (find as many words from the letters available before the shark devours them)

Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: I’ve been laid up with a really bad cold all week, so I haven’t worn or bought any makeup.
Weekend Plans: Resting, binge-watching, reading, and getting over this stupid cold.
Brag about something awesome in your life: This year I’m 16 years cancer-free!
Congratulations Seraphine on being cancer free for 16 years. What an achievement for you and your family. I hope your bad cold eases over the weekend too. It’s always at the changes in the seasons that does it for me too. Little Harry has had a bad cold as well and it’s been keeping his parents up at night. They can make you feel pretty average.
Thank you, Genevieve!
Yay! Great!
Get well soon!
Thank you, Rachel!

Brag About Something Awesome In Your Life: My friends are, if I may be so bold, the best friends one could possibly ask for. And they all have great hair!
The puppy pics and video are too precious! I’m glad they’re all in good places. If I lived in AZ, Ribeye would be mine! ❤️

WEEKEND PLANS:
Hoping the increase in my migraine preventative helps! The weather is still all over the place here. Spending Easter with the family.
BRAG ABOUT SOMETHING AWESOME IN YOUR LIFE!
I have amazing kids that I’m super proud of! Despite having hard lives deriving from one’s severe mental illness, both of them being on the autism spectrum, growing up having a dad with a brain tumor, and our not having much money or help through it all, they worked hard to get through school, graduate, and become kind, intelligent, loving young men who are always willing to help others.
Oh man! I know that you will miss the Steaklets and Mama Bri so much (and so will many others, myself included), but you did an absolutely AWESOME job with them! Something that they will no doubt carry to their fur-ever homes once they’re ready. Yes, I would have to agree with you that you have a wonderful, helpful husband throughout this foster journey!
Purchases/rediscoveries: If bathing suits and clothes count…then, yes, I sure made a huge dent this week! LOL! First bathing suit I ordered from Torrid, I made the utterly STUPID mistake of NOT taking my measurements before ordering a 00 thinking that would equal a 14-16 Misses. It most certainly did not! Couldn’t even get it past my hip sockets, nevermind my butt. I called them and they recommended a size 1. So, I reordered the one that didn’t even begin to fit, plus a leopard two.-piece tankini. Then some stuff from Old Navy, because I love their basic tanks and also their linen blend t-shirts. Rediscovered my Rare Beauty Lip Souffle in Heroic, which I wore out to the Memorial of Christ’s Last Meal.
Weekend plans: Get over to Westgate to pick up my suits. Going to return the other one while there and also try on the 2 new to be SURE that they actually fit me! Zoom meeting tomorrow morning.
Brag about something awesome in your life! Seeing my daughter doing such an awesome, amazing job at raising her son who has special needs (non-verbal, ADHD) yet he is super inquisitive, wheels constantly turning in his head type of intelligent child! She is so loving, yet firm, patient with him, and always finds time to put him first even though she works nearly full-time. I am so proud of the woman she has become!
Recent Purchases: SG Enduring Love and Radiant Reflectance and the Luminous Light face palette and some liners from Game Beauty. My TM singles order from last month also came in today.
Rediscoveries: maybe not a rediscovery, but just enjoying my Sydney Grace shadows more and more.
Weekend plans: We spent all week having a fun spring break and tomorrow we are dropping our son off to spend the night at his grandma’s so my husband and I will have some quiet time.
Brag about something awesome in your life! My son is such a sweet kid. He’s five and it’s been an absolute joy watching him blossom into such a cool person. I could watch him do anything for hours. His imagination is endless and is energy is boundless. He’s learned and grown so much in the last year. I’m so proud of him.
OMG – Christine, the puppies look so, so cute and adorable and I bet you shed lots of tears when they had to leave. It’s lovely to know that they are going to really good homes that will love and cherish them, as you and Shaun have loved and nurtured them. I feel a bit teary myself.
What a great husband to clean up the puppy room too – not many would do that I think.
A 30 day break is a good idea, but you will be wondering how they are going and be missing them.
Have a safe journey to Tuscan Christine.
Recent Purchases: Just some Elf Translucent setting powder – this is really good. It was recommended to me by one of the staff at Priceline, when I couldn’t find my shade. I know Rachel here uses a few Elf products and I thought I would give it a go. It is great.
Rediscoveries: I have found myself using a lot of the Pixie Beauty Reflex Light palette this week – all those golds, bronzes and browns have been right up my eyeshadow alley.
Weekend Plans Happy Easter to those who follw the tradition and I hope that the Easter Bunny brings you something nice and sweet!
As seems to be the case here in Melbourne, the weather was great during the week, but it has turned quite cold and Easter Sunday is predicted to be the coldest and wettest Easter we have experienced for some time….I don’t get the grandchildren Easter Eggs, but some winter clothes and a small toy.
Their parents can get them the chocolate….
Friday – just cleaned up the house and then I was done!
Saturday – doing some food shopping as everyone is coming over for an early Easter dinner tomrrow .
Update on my twin sister: She is having her cancerous lump taken out next Thursday and then will undergo 4 weeks of Ray treatment – which is what I thought would happen.
I visited a breast surgeon during the week to make sure that my fatty tissue isn’t going to give me grief down the road, but he was very reassuring that everything will be OK. I just have to go back in 6 months to make sure they haven’t grown or changed. I felt quite relived. It turns out that the specialist I saw knows well the specialist that is treating my sister, so I felt like she is in good hands.
Thank you to everyone here who has wished us both well.
Brag about something awesome in your life: I have lots of awesome people in my life: my family and my friends who are caring and kind. My grandchildren who never cease to amaze me with what kind of people they are becoming and their gorgeous, sweet natures.

It’s been such a rewarding journey following along with the updates on here and from discord with the pups!
Recent Purchases/Rediscoveries: It doesn’t seem like a recent purchase but my Bella Beaute Bar Make Your Own Magic singles arrived today!! I did also pick up the Tarte creamer concealer from Ulta but I think it’s not the right product for me.
Weekend plans: It sounds silly but I want to see if I can go a whole day without eating carbs. It isn’t so much a “carbs are bad” mentality but more like…. can I do it??? challenge. lol
Brag about something awesome in your life! My brother makes delicious food for my family and me!!
