Oooh, how does the cologne smell? It sounds good!
It is so gorgeous. It starts off with a nice, bright, tart blackberry scent, and it dries down into a quite verdant and pleasant brambly leaf smell. It’s like a dewy blackberry field on a summer morning, and it’s SO me… blackberries were and are my favorite fruit, and as a child it was my favorite to pick straight out of the farm fields (I live in a rural area). I haven’t bought it yet, but I have samples of Nectarine Blossom and Honey that smells divine layered with Blackberry and Bay. That, safe to say, is going to become my signature scent. I’m totally certain.
If you haven’t tried any Jo Malones yet, Christine, you should give it a go! They are simple and very pure scents, and they are wonderful on their own, but the magic really comes when you figure out how you like to layer the components. I love the creativity and individuality of Jo Malone fragrances! But the problem is, once you have one, you just want to collect them all…. D’oh!

Les Fauves – I caved when I realised I was basically looking for individual dupes for all the colours in the palette anyway, so I may as well just get it all in one convenient place. 🙂 I think it’s different in the US, but in the UK it actually works out the same price as say, 3 mac single eyeshadows. I’m really liking it so far!

HAUL: I finally found the limited Revlon Snow Peach Super Lustrous Lipstick. It was randomly included with the regular lipsticks display at Ulta.
I’m sure that I got the right one (the label looks correct), but for some reason, it’s more red-coral than the pink-coral color in your swatches, Christine.

Haul: a bit of an eye shadow indulgence….MAC Fiction arrived and I am so delighted that I got it – it’s perfect. I also picked up 2 more Sephora eyeshadows – Winter in London and Malted Milkshake (and since I was buying 2, I got another free palette).
Weekend plans: I’m actually giving the family Easter get-together a miss. I just need some quiet time for myself to read and just not have people around me. I’m still doing the 30 day yoga challenge at my studio and I’ve got several classes planned for this weekend also.
Favourite song: Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark. The teacher played it last night in yoga class (a class with, obviously, the coolest music) and it’s been in my head ever since! My poses were probably a bit off because I was finding it hard not to dance and sing along!
Fiction is amazing! I swear it’s better this time around, too.
Youi’re not kidding. Having never had it before, I’d nothing to compare it to but I honestly don’t know why MAC doesn’t make it permanent as there’s nothing like it in the permanent range (mind you, as I said in my MUA review, I don’t understand why they don’t make Moth Brown permanent….these are shadows people WANT to be able to purchase). There doesn’t seem to be much hoopla about its release, either – no new tutorials, very few blog posts about it from this recent release.
They have been adding more to the permanent range recently… at least with lipsticks! Hopefully they’ll extend it to eyeshadows sometime soon.
By Request always seems to be under-hyped, as it gets a big buzz when people can vote, but by the time they roll out, it’s like old news, IMO!
Haul: OCC Lip Tars in the primary colors- I missed out on the mini pack and I was sooo bummed! Also, 3 UD lip liners from the sale they are having!

I got Kauai when it first came out (I didn’t think it would be at Canadian Sephora stores and then – ZAP – I walked right into it the day after it was place in the Nars display). It is so gorgeous I nearly bought 2 but the SA told me that the Nars rep told her that it would probably be becoming permanent. You will LOVE it.

Smellan: Keep your paws off my bunny!… my bunny, mine!
Haul: Two mini-hauls from MAC and Sephora. Favourite picks have to be MAC lipstick in Red Balloon and Bite Beauty Matte lip pencil in Blood Orange. They are both so beautiful. I wore Red Balloon three days in a row. These two even get to hang with my frequent wear and much more glamorous lipsticks in my stash; special status indeed. Hauled the Ebony trio from the disastrous MAC eyeshadow collection just for the really pretty grey colour. I layered over paint pot Frozen Violet which is similar in tone and helps cope with the stiffness of the shadow. This was one of the better rated trios, but it’s still quite difficult as per Christine’s experience. Nice colour though.
Weekend Plans: Bake. I make my own healthy pre-workout snacks. I make up big batches and freeze individual portions.
Favourite Song: I’m into indie and alternative music. Right now I keep going back to London Grammar, the entire ‘If you Wait’ album since its release, but second choice would go to Mind Over Matter by Young the Giant.

I got MAC Toying Around for the Playland collection. When I wrote my spending ban post, I mentioned one exception – the Too Faced A La Mode palette, but only if it came to Sephora so I could use a gift card on it. It’s not coming to Sephora, so I can’t use a gift card on it so I just went with the MAC lipstick since it’s cheaper than what I would have paid for the palette even WITH a gift card.
My plans are filming for YouTube! I’m hoping I can finally get my prom makeup tutorial filmed. Plan a few more blog posts. Plan out a few more videos. I’m going to create a summer makeup look with this new lipstick.

Haul: Some clothes from Forever 21+ that I got while in Monterey, CA last week for a long weekend. It had the best plus size section I’ve ever seen at a actual Forever 21 store. Some tan ankle boots from Target, and the small size of the Glamglow Exfoliating mask. Before I for Monterey last Thursday, I did buy some stuff at the VIB sale…Lancome Cils Booster Mascara (the mascara base), travel sizes of Living Proof Full Shampoo & Conditioner, and the Maison Martin Margiella Replica perfume in Jazz Club (my favorite fragrance of the moment).
Weekend Plans: Day-date activity tomorrow (its a surprise again! planned by the boyf), friend’s bday party tomorrow night, homework on Sunday.

Awww!!! Mellan seems so innately a kind soul! <3! Turtle gives off a vibe that is against photography as well as my daughter's insisting that it is "just wrong." She's incredibly bright yet down to earth in a way I envy so I won't argue.

Weekend plans: No plans at the moment! Write? Indoor picnic? My daughter turned seven last weekend and I’m still mind boggled about it. I’ll only be thirty this year but she has me wondering where all the time went. Somewhere in the last week, I turned in to my father.
Favorite song right now?: Friendly Fires’ “Skeleton Boy.” My two year old son has discovered a love for it. If we put it on for him, he’ll run around singing. Once it ends, my daughter starts it back up. It just gets stuck in my head.
It’s funny how certain life events make us think about our lives! My 10-year high school reunion is this year, and I’m like, “WHAT!”
I broke my no buy after only two weeks because of the offer of the guerlain meteorites sample from sephora 🙁
To get it I purchased a Diorshow Fusion Mono Long-Wear Professional Mirror-Shine Eyeshadow in chimere. Hasn’t arrived yet…no buy back in place.

Haul: I picked up some minis from The Body Shop, to take to the holiday house next weekend (so hopefully I get less teasing from my family about packing the kitchen sink!) – a Moringa Body Butter and Shower Gel, plus new exfoliating shower gloves. Also picked up another Real Techniques brush, the Powder Brush, which I LOVE. I think I’m definitely going to buy a few more, but I wish there weren’t so many brushes which ONLY come in sets!! Lastly, the most EXCITING part of my haul – I FINALLY picked up two BareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow Duo’s I’ve been eyeing off forever – The Grand Finale and The Epiphany!! I wore the Epiphany to dinner last night, and I can see it being a total workhorse for me.
Weekend plans: Work!! I’m working all easter, bring on next weekend!
Favorite song right now?: Wow, that is a HARD question… I’ve been loving an Australian band recently called Karnivool, so I’d have to go with a song of theirs, Themata.

It’s a little late for this FFHF, but I could not let another week go by to say how much I loved this week’s and last week’s Mellan photos – he looks absolutely adorable with his new toys! It does not cease to amaze me good he is with his toys – no eating, no destroying, just enjoying! What an adorable boy!!
