- Haul/Rediscoveries: Sol de Janeiro shower gel (x3) for hubby. New hair? That’s beauty-related and expensive enough, LOL.
- Weekend plans: My mother-in-law and one of my brother-in-laws is visiting for Thanksgiving, so I need to start tidying up my areas of the house… aka deal with makeup coming out of my ears.
- What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: Seeing hubby as the first thing when I wake up, then a big Mellan nose greeting me, and finally, coffee!

Oh yes, I am very familiar with this stare! My dog seems to believe that if he concentrates hard enough, the refrigerator door will open and carrots will fall to the floor.
Haul: Bite Beauty Astrology Mini Holiday Set split between me and four friends. Also, I used a $25 Neiman Marcus coupon to get Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Treatment and Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic perfume, both of which are replacements for the ones I’ve almost used up. It amounted to a 20% savings, which is great because I accidentally missed NM’s recent 20% sale!
Weekend Plans: Visit family; pick up my Neiman Marcus order, which was shipped to the store (and try not to spend anymore money while I’m there); and Thanksgiving planning.
Favorite Part About My Morning Routine: On work days, it’s doing my makeup, which is a nice, quiet, focused time before I have to face rush hour traffic. On weekends, I love being able to wake up when I want to, not when the alarm is yelling at me.
Waking up when you want to is one of the glorious things about the weekend, I think.
Haul/Rediscoveries:
Haul – nothing new to report!
Rediscoveries – I’ve been playing with my ND Star palette this week. It’s so lovely.
Weekend plans: Getting my son fit for some shoes… his feet are wide and chunky, so every pair that we have doesn’t fit well. Hanging out with my fam, and I have a long weekend, so dropping the son off at daycare on Monday and doing lots of cleaning.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: Waking my son up and getting him ready for the day… some days he’s in a bad mood and its challenging, but when he’s in a good mood he’s all smiles and likes to learn and repeat new words.
It’s so hard to get the right shoes for a little one and they seem to be so, so expensive too. My youngest son had really chunky feet and I can recall being horrified because the only shoes that would fit him were a Spanish pair that were $60 (and this was 30 years ago).
And it all depends on the sleep as to how they wake up in the morning: it can be either tears and tantrums or smiles and love. There’s no inbetween.
Haul/Rediscoveries: My Sephora annual sale haul included some basics, and I also got the ILIA Last Night Gift Set (mascara and cheek/eye tint/highlight palette), ILIA eyeshadow quad (Prima), RMS Wild with Desire Mini Lipstick Set, Bite Beauty Agave Lip mask set, and Youth to the People jojoba oil (“Superberry hydrate + Glow Oil”).
Weekend plans: My boyfriend and I are going to take a tour of the Philadelphia masonic temple! It looked crazy inside from the pictures.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: Getting fresh air and sun on my walk to work

*Weekend – test makeup and maybe check into Makeup Addicts Anonymous?
*Mornings – ugh hate mornings, except for breakfast
Katherine, I am in dire need of finding a Makeup Addicts Anonymous meeting, too! Because this really is an addiction. A fun one. But sooo expensive.
LOL! Well, isn’t this the place for our weekly meeting? 😉
Absoltely Katherine, this is our regular beauty makeup place to share our finds, our heart’s desire and swap ideas with fellow beauty lovers from all over the globe. So much fun.
Katherine,
I am wearing Hush Hush right now! I love all the Buxom lipliners because they can be worn with just a touch of gloss or paired with lipstick. All week I have been loving Covert Affair and NARS Audacious in Brigitte, and I swear this is the most beautiful lipstick combo of all time (until next week when I discover the new best lipstick liner combo of all time, lol).
I got the Huda Amethyst palette for myself, and Emerald and Topaz for daughter and granddaughter. Such pretty little palettes! I picked up the Laneige set too, out of curiosity. I got the UD Naked Cherry as part of my oldest daughter’s birthday present, which I will give to her tomorrow
You live THAT close to Beautylish??? Do they have a store?
Ah looks like we have similar taste in makeup! What can I say, great minds think alike! LOL Oooh Buxom Hush Hush is moving up my test list! And I got Huda Emerald a couple of months ago, love that too! I can’t wait to test UD Naked Cherry, the colors look beautiful. Oh I’m in the San Francisco area, where they have their headquarters, but I checked, don’t think they have a store, bummer as they do carry some hard-to-find brands, like Makeup Atelier. I love ordering from them ( great website, super fast shipping, great customer service, everything well wrapped, beautiful packaging), just wish they did more gift card events or sales. Now trying to figure out what to get with that $20 giftcard, so many pretty things……
Haul: I exchanged the KVD Brow Pomade (I finally found out where my cat was stashing the box from when the product was first released) for the Milk Makeup Longwear Gel Liners in CEO & Boss (20% off). The beauty gurus aren’t just hyping them up. They really are good, long lasting liners. I haven’t smudged them out or anything, I just put them in my waterline and they’re amazing. And I received my new, and unbroken Natasha Denona Gold palette. Yay! Now I need to figure out what to do with the other one. Maybe I’ll sell it. Idk.
Rediscoveries: Colourpop Gloss in Contessa. ABH gloss in Sepia. Sephora Gel Liner in Rosewood.
Weekend Plans: going out of town to a pole show called Vertical Desires on Saturday and on Sunday I will take a pole workshop. It should be fun.
My favorite part of my morning routine is my shower. It’s completely wakes me up.
Haul: I had a snafu with Sephora regarding my sale order. I had ordered the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow and the day after I received a notice that they didn’t have enough stock to fill my order. Money was refunded. I signed up for email alerts and the night the sale was ending I received a notice that it was in stock. I had tried to find it at the Sephora inside JC Penny’s in both Kalispell and Missoula but both were out. When the restock alert came I added it to my shopping cart and went back to add Algenist Genius Collagen Gel to my cart and the notice that they were out of stock of the Honeymoon Glow was back under my order in the cart. I gave up and went ahead and ordered from the Farmacy sight so I was ticked that I didn’t get to order it while on sale. I picked up a couple of products from Walmart and those along with the Farmacy order are due today. The items from Walmart are two palettes, L’Oreal Paradise Enchanted eye shadow palette and Beauty Creations Tease Me palette both at the recommendation of Taylor on Thattayla. The Beauty Connection one reminds me a bit of the New Nudes palette from Huda Beauty which I have been looking at for several days but I think that the Beauty Connection one will fill the need and want for the Huda palette.
Weekend plans: Nothing much. Roofers are finishing my roof repairs today as we had a break in the rain. Once that is done I will feel better about the approaching winter. On Sunday my daughter and I are headed to Missoula to see a couple of movies. Our nearest movie theater is about 62 miles away but it is one of those theaters that play older movies that have left theaters already and we want to see some new movies so headed to Missoula. We usually try to do a double feature or even 3 movies if we can cram them in.
I want to see the new version of “A Star Is Born”, “Bohemian Rhapsody” and The Nutcracker. We go to Seattle on Wednesday for about 5 days so the usual housecleaning, getting packed and preparing our cat for the road trip.
Favorite part of morning routine: I don’t have a favorite part as I am a night owl so never want to get out of bed until at least 9 AM. I wish I was a morning person. I just never have been. When I was little, like really little, 3 or 4, my mom would try to get me to go to bed and I would stay up and read books in my room. My mom said I was scared I would miss something. I worked night shift for 22 years so that was another reason I hated mornings. My routine after waking is to give my cat a fresh bowl of water, clean her litter box, give her fresh food all while the coffee is brewing. Once I have coffee I am a new person.
I want to see A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody also. I’ve heard great things about both movies!
Queen was my “first band,” and much like first love, it was the most intense of all my band loves in a lifetime of music passion (I’ve never had cable but would be devastated if I had to give up subscription radio). When I was a young teen I had to search the used book stores to find their imported albums (at that time there were only two albums available in the US, A Night at the Opera and A Day at The Races.) I knew every lyric to every song of their first five albums. When Freddie Mercury died, it was the most grief I’ve ever experienced at the loss of a muscian. As someone who loved the band and was obsessed with their initial albums, I struggle with anger at those whose knowledge of Queen consists of songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Fat Bottomed Girls, Another One Bites the Dust, We Are the Champions, and so on. Harsh, I know, but how can one claim to love a band if they only know the radio hits? I LOVED Queen.
So all week this week during my lunch breaks I’ve been watching old interviews and concerts. I’m not sure if I’m emotionally ready to see an actor play the role of my beloved Freddie Mercury yet. I hope you love the movie and it gives you a glimpse into one of the bands who had my teenage heart ❤️
I love music also and much of my life is wrapped around music and what I grew up listening to. I absolutely love Queen and was devastated when Freddie died. I never got to see them before he passed and while Brian and Roger have been touring with Adam Lambert I haven’t been free to see them when they have been in the states. I don’t know how I feel about seeing them without John and Freddie but a part of me feels like getting to see Brian and Roger would be worth it. I watch every documentary about Queen and have quite a few saved on YT where several are posted in there entirety. One of the things I love about Queen was how overall their band was without all the drama and fighting. I know that had differences of opinion but in the end they were a band. I also like that each of the four members wrote #1 songs and not many groups, if any, can say that. Freddie was always the driving force behind the band and I am just happy to see Brian and Roger still together. I understand John’s desire not to be a part of the band without Freddie and he was always the strong, silent type so in many ways, the most brooding of the group. He just couldn’t do it anymore without Freddie. I listened to an interview that Brian did a few years ago when he was talking about his father not understanding him or being particularly proud of him for being a member of Queen. His father thought that he turned his back on a true profession, Astrophysics and Astronomy, to play music. He said that his father came to see him for the first time, many years into the band and was back stage while they performed. He said when he came off stage his father looked at him and said, “Now I get why you do it.” The audience was a sea of people singing the words, dancing and just reveling in the show that was Queen.
Like you, I am not sure about the movie. I don’t think that Rami Malik looks anything like Freddie and I don’t feel like he has the stage presence to pull it off. Plus, although there is only an inch difference in height, Rami looks so small to me. Freddie was just this larger than life personality. But, I don’t want to not see it either!!
I have seen 3 of the four versions of A Star Is Born and just really wanted to see how they handle it this time. I know from reviews that this one focuses much more on Jack than previous versions have so that will be different. Didn’t really see Bradley Cooper playing the part although I think Lady Gaga is the perfect person to play Ally. Anyway, I will see both early next week and let me know if you see them, also.
Both those movies will make your weekend. Even my husband loved them and that says a lot. My husband is an action/comedy type of movie fan, I thought I would have to drag him to the theatre but afterwards he couldn’t stop raving about these two movies. Enjoy!
Haul: ULTA- cashed in some points and got No7 makeup wipes, Brow Whiz, Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer trio (really excited to try them) and a Tree Hut body butter
COLOURPOP: Brown Sugar palette and gel liners (Rum and Nut), and lipstick in Brick. And another lipstick in Friends. It’s been a while since I’ve this much from Colourpop and I rarely get palettes so I also very excited to get these!!
Weekend plans: Going out to dinner and run some errands with the husband. Going into work for a few hours tomorrow and then dinner with friends. Not sure about Sunday, maybe finally get a pedicure.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine? Probably drinking coffee with my husband 🙂
Haul: I ordered reusable bamboo cotton rounds to use for removing eye & lip makeup, they haven’t arrived yet though. I have a few things in my cart for the Sephora sale but haven’t decided 100% – I’m for sure getting Verb sea texture cream and Too Faced mascara for my best friend for her Hanukkah present, for sure getting myself Too Faced mascara, possibly getting myself UD Naked Cherry eye palette.
Weekend plans: Husband is bringing one of his homebrews to a Star Wars themed “light vs dark” beer competition tomorrow and I haven’t decided if I’m going with yet.
Favorite part of morning: Spending an hour or so before I get out of bed playing with the cats, reading, and scrolling social media. Making & drinking coffee.
I swear, they do know! Mellan has company in Scunci with the staring at his food storage area like that! ?
Haul: Having just received my last 2 Rouge orders, I’m thoroughly sated for a good little while. Pat McGrath Blitztrance Lipsticks in Flesh Fatale and Rebel Red arrived on Tuesday, but I haven’t had a chance to wear them yet. Yesterday, PMG Metalmorphosis and Nars Siouxsie Audacious Lipstick arrived and I can hardly wait to use both! Well, if it stopped feeling like I was getting a bad cold, but not kicking into full sick mode.
Weekend plans: Hair is already done, as I just did my root t/up 2 days ago. Had put it off for so long that I had around an inch and a half of new growth. What to do when there is a ton of white on top, but the ugliest mousy brown coming in along the edges? Yet, one wants low maintenance hair? Problem is, I look best in dark brown (natural pre gray hair color) or deep chocolate brown (what I’ve been using for years) hair. But I digress. No plans except trying to kick the exhaustion that’s held me hostage all week long. And listen in to my meeting on Sunday morning.
Favorite part of my morning routine? My 2 cats greeting me in the morning (it’s also the worst part, too!) and then after I’ve fed them, sitting down with a 16 oz (or 20 oz?) mug of hot coffee! As I sip my coffee, I look forward to checking emails, Facebook, and then jumping onto this page.
I hope you rest, get well, and play with your new make up soon?
I hope you are feeling better Nancy and I know what it’s like to have those awful grey/white roots showing through….
Haul/Rediscoveries: Nothing too fancy. Brow gel and mascara, and I did splurge on the Kylie Cosmetics velvet in “Todd Kraines”. I admit I watch the show and the Todd Kraines joke is hilarious, so having a lip color named after the joke and the man was worth it to me.
Weekend plans: I think I’m going to Albuquerque to see my partner’s family. Otherwise just kicking it in the new house. Decorating, cleaning, etc.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: I’m not at all a morning person so I don’t really have a favorite part. Maybe sipping coffee while I do my makeup and listen to my cat raise hell up and down the halls. He’s 11 but acts much younger still.
My cat’s MO is to simply sit by her empty food bowl, and every time I walk into the kitchen, just stare at me longingly.
HAUL: Estée Lauder Color Envy Paint on Liquid Lipstick in Poppy Sauvage (LE color by Violette). Really nice product. Haven’t bought from Estée Lauder in years, and haven’t bought a liquid lip in years and years either. I haven’t been on board the liquid lip train since they’ve blown up recently. But I can’t see them getting better than this. It’s very thin more like an oil, dries down but not completely (slight transfer) so very comfy and stays all day. I normally reapply a cream lipstick 4 times during the workday, with this I don’t need to reapply at all (assuming I’m not having a hamburger for lunch). It also solves the feathering issues I’ve been having with all my typical lipsticks (the main reason I wanted to try a liquid lipstick). Totally worked out on first purchase. I will probably get another shade. I totally recommend testing these, Christine, if you ever have the chance! From swatching experience I think they’re most similar to Nars Power Pigment.
WEEKEND: I’m in the mood to cook so I’ll be whipping up a few things
I’m not a morning person but I like waking up to my cats sleeping next to me or sitting on my chest. Until they start slapping me bc they’re hungry lol.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Nothing beauty-wise, but I did buy some lovely gold/moonstone earring studs.
Weekend plans: Statistical lab reports. Blegh.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: Not sure of my favourite part, but my least favourite part is definitely getting out of my warm and cozy bed lol.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Rediscovery – “No Men Like Me” eyeshadow from Shiro; Haul — I did it … I broke my unofficial promise not to get any more lipsticks. I was lured in by the NARS seasonal offerings: 7 Deadly Sins lip palette, Audacious lip palette, Unspeakable velvet lip glide, and most importantly, Blackheart powermatte lip luster.
Weekend plans: lots of tasks I’m actually looking forward to, like more sorting through closets for donations, cleaning and straightening, changing out the table linens and making the dining table look nice again (it’s been collecting random strays, which are going to be put away, finally).
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: If I can actually talk myself into doing it — walking. If I can’t manage that level of effort, then makeup is my favorite part.
Haul:
I have been doing quite a bit of hauling, but I think I am going to focus mainly on what has already arrived and leave incoming items for another week.
Beautylish: I have been ordering from Beautylish for a couple years but this is the first time I participated in the gift card sale. I made a commitment to buy one Sonia G brush per month in 2018 and fell behind schedule so this was the perfect opportunity for me to add three more brushes to my collection. I got Face Two, Builder One, and Worker Two. I was going to grab a couple Wayne Goss eye brushes to my cart but couldn’t decide which, so I just purchased the whole eye set. There was no transitioning to any of these brushes, I had them all on my face the very next morning with no “what do I do with this one?” moments. It’s like I had been needing all these brushes in my life and using them came naturally, effortlessly. I love them all?
I purchased two other Sonia G brushes a month ago but had not previously mentioned them: Sculpt One and Sculpt Two. I really hesitated with these as they were so expensive and I didn’t want to spend that kind of money for just another brush. I needn’t have worried. These brushes EXCEEDED my expectations and hopes, to the point where I would rank both in my top 10 brushes I’ve ever purchased. How did I do highlight before Sculpt Two?? How did I do bronzer before Sculpt One??? I doubt I will ever again hesitate to buy a brush from Sonia G, as far as quality is concerned.
These next eyeshadows were not even on my radar until I saw Christine’s recent look. I do not buy eyeshadow singles anymore because A) I don’t reach for them and B) they are ridiculously expensive. I mean, one single eyeshadow often cost about $20–that’s more expensive per shadow than one of the Pat McGRATH palettes (hers are approximately $12 per shadow) and I am certain the quality of most brands shadows don’t compare to the quality of the Pat McGRATH shadows. Anyway, I digress. I saw Christine’s look and immediately ordered several single overpriced shadows. Let me say this: If you love shiny pretty things (as I do), drop everything and go get MAC’s Shiny Pretty Things eyeshadow singles! I tried really hard to only buy two, but once I saw and wore them, I had to order the rest and then buy a second set for my daughter and granddaughter to use for the holidays. They are seriously sparkly!
Speaking of sparkle, the minute I saw the Pat McGRATH Blitztrance lipsticks, I knew resistance was futile. I want them all but exercised some self-control and purchased three: Flesh Fatale, Club Kiss and Rebel Red. I could just weep with joy, they are everything I hoped they would be.
Marc Jacobs Enamoured High shine Lipglass in Ch-Ch-Changes. Lovely high end luxe formula, beautiful color!
Bite Beauty Agave Trio and backup of the full size Lip Mask in natural. This product has literally changed my life and I hope they never discontinue.
Belif Merry Merry Moisturizers gift set and full size Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask: I had to try, I’ve heard so many good things about these products.
Jordan Samuel etOILe with Retinol Treatment Oil. This has been on my wishlist for months and I decided last week I was done wishing. I am going to use this on nights when I need a break from prescription Retin A, which happens one or two nights a week during the cold winter months. I am also going to use it in conjunction with Sunday Riley’s Good Genes. I use Good Genes once a week as an acid treatment and I will layer this oil on top.
Tarte Opening Act Lash Primer. I now only use mascara that washes off with water (no more rubbing my lashes with makeup remover) and was pleasantly surprised this primer also washes off with warm water. My lashes look so much fuller and longer with this primer.
Philosophy Candy Cane shower gel: My youngest daughter loves all things mint, so I got this for her. It smells so good even I want to use it, and I don’t even like mint!
One more thing from MAC’s Pretty Shiny Things collection: Ice Orchid Lipglass. Just too pretty. I refuse to even look at this collection for fear I will find something else I want. I don’t think I have fallen for a MAC collection for about two years, so this is a pleasant surprise.
I am probably forgetting something. (I think UPS must’ve delivered at least three boxes to my door daily this week, what with my personal shopping and gift shopping for others—it was embarrassing!)
Weekend plans: Tomorrow is my shared birthday party with my daughter Lea, who also has a November birthday. Many of you wished me a happy birthday last week, so thank you for your kind wishes. I am, as always, looking forward to having my whole family together (husband, our four adult children, their partners, and our grandchildren). They mean everything to me, and I don’t take our time together for granted. We will have one our favorite spreads of the year: Lea and I split the cost so Lea can cook all her favorite starter foods, such as guacamole, beefy cheese dip, deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket, teriyaki chicken bites, Italian beef and more. It is a crazy smorgasbord of finger foods, and each dish is a specific family member’s favorite. It takes a week of preparation and cooking to make this meal happen, and it is very special.
Today is my husband’s last day as a manager. We have both had to psychologically process this change, and there’s been some difficult emotions. This week finds us both looking forward and feeling positive about the future. My husband had to buy a vehicle and has been all over the state (and to Missouri too) looking at trucks that met his very strict criteria of cost, miles, condition, history, size, make and model. It filled my heart with joy to see his new truck (new to him, anyway) sitting in our garage last night when I got home from the gym. My husband has been chained to his job and a company car for 28 years, and though it might seem like such a great benefit, in truth it became, like his cell phone, just another way his company exerted control over his life, both professionally and personally. All our married life, this man has wanted a truck, and I’ve always wished for him to have one. Now he does❤️.
Favorite part of my morning routine: Waking up with my husband by my side. I love the way all three cats burst into our bedroom wanting our affection after a long night without us (we don’t let them sleep in our bedroom). I love my first sip of coffee. And I love turning on Fresh Air or My Old Kentucky Blog while indulging in one of my favorite pastimes, makeup application.
Now you’re making me want the Marc Jacobs Enamored gloss-the colors are beautiful and I love that they’re named after songs! Not sure yet what color I’d buy-your pick, Ch-Ch-Changes, is gorgeous, but I also have a weakness for reds and pinks.
Yes! I want a pink one?
What a seriously great haul Tammy!
By now you will have had your shared birthday celebrations and I hope the day went really well. The spread of food sounds delicious.
I am pleased to read that your husband has found the truck of his dreams and has achieved a level of independence from his company. I wish him well when he starts his new post.
Best wishes to you all.
Haul/rediscoveries: Shiseido Benefiance cleanser (it’s being discontinued -RATS); Vichy 89 Hyaluronic Acid Face Moisturizer and another tube of Smashbox Red Rage lipstick (it’s becoming like MAC Craving for me – one in my purse, one in my school bag, one in my bathroom….) and a large bottle of A-derma shower washing oil for my mother in law. She has been scratching herself raw and so I’m trying really hard to protect her skin. I’ve told her to slather this stuff on her BEFORE her shower, mostly to provide a bit of protection/a moisture barrier; I’d already bought her a bottle which she now seems to be using as a hand washing product, which is fine, but I wanted her to have one in her shower too.
Weekend plans: I’m hoping my husband will pick up a pizza on his way home from work; problem is I WANT pepperoni and HE won’t eat the stuff! Gym tomorrow and on Sunday – November 11 – the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in my city.
Gaaa – AGAIN, I forgot the question: my favourite part is pulling the covers BACK over my head when I realize it’s a day I’m not working. On work days, it’s having my first coffee of the morning while chatting with my husband.
Yeesh – and “rediscovery” – the Tarte for Aqualillies palette – I’ve been using the eyeshadows in it and it came rushing back to me just why I loved that palette so much.
Topping disputes are the perfect time for a half-and-half in my book!
Ha, ha! Mellan is too cute. Our cats do this when they know there are kitty treats in the pantry. lol

????’? ???? ???????? ???? ????? ???? ??????? ????????: Seeing my hubby before he goes to work.
Haul: It’s been an active week! Macy’s deal got me re-upping on Studio Fix and Clinique Miosture Surge Over Night Mask. Then I went ahead and gifted myself with the shiny pretty things nude lip set.
Then Tarte’s sale happened. Shape tape foundation, more Paaarty blush (I cannot buy any blush for 3-5 years, lol), Radiance drops, that pretty greige lip color (Beach Waves), an eyeliner and a mascara.
THEN I happened into a small beauty store and made my first Lime Crime purchase. The 4 shadow Venus palette in Solid Gold. I wore it yesterday and it faded badly sometime throughout the day so it may go back.
Weekend plans: On my first ever flight right now from Southern California to Sacramento to spend time with my niece. Its exciting being in the air!
Fave part of my morning routine: There’s this bend on my road to work that opens to a beautiful view of the rising sun. By the time I hit it I have my cold brew in my hand doing it’s magic and music up too loud. Always a “Wow we are blessed to live on this planet” moment.
Haul: Some Peach and Lilly masks and some holiday decor
Weekend: The usual plus a wine fest.
My favorite part of the morning is family cuddles in bed when I can get it! Puppies, kitty, and hubby…
I know that look Mellon, my son’s cat does the same thing!
Haul/Rediscoveries: My ColourPop lipstick order arrived this week and I am keeping it until my birthday, which is on the 20th Nov.
I pulled out Dior’s Jardin this week and used it for a couple of days. A very pretty quad.
Weekend Plans: Friday – we had Lachlan over and spent a long time playing in the newly renovated park behind our house.
Saturday – we are having both the grandchildren over today, as their mum and dad are going up to Kinglake to help Anika’s parents clean out their homes for valuation. Anika’s parents narrowly missed losing their home to the Black Saturday bushfires several years ago and that effort has taken its toll on them physically and mentally. It’s a large house and several acres, and they want to move to something smaller and more manageable.
Sunday – shopping and housework I think.
Best part of the morning routine: Having a cup of tea and spending 15 minutes or so reading and then
definitely, definitely having my morning coffee and reading this blog. It is a sacred part of my day.
Too funny!
Haul: Huda New Nude and I declare that so far it’s my favorite palette of the holiday season thus far! Blends really well and stays on even without primer. Also, the Sapphire Beauty Blender (this BB is new, but it could be considered a rediscovery that BB’s really are the best in sponge application. I’ve been using so many “other” brands and when I tried this one today, it really caused me to think that BB’s are better than the rest.)
Weekend plans: I just kicked it off going out with friends to support a very close coworker and friend who lost her son. We just celebrated with her and through it mourned with her. I can’t explain, we just were together and I pray that helped her overcome another day. So for the rest of the weekend, I hope to better appreciate my own children.
Morning routine: I really don’t care for routines, but we do need them. Mine is remembering to say “Good Morning Holy Spirit” (sets off the tone for the day when I do), putting cold water on my eyes and later putting on a day cream (after wiping off the night one, if I remember to put it on. 😉 ).
Bloody H, didn’t get around to looking, until Sat. That happens on a 2 job Friday. Haul: S: Nars lip pencil set, Fenty: either they found some left overs, or the glossy topper set with snake skin is back. Omg, am I into toppers these days, though those 3 stand alone well. Clap back, yes, i’m 70 and will wear navy l/s. Only the dark stuff, though, bec it is like menswear, and very conventional…just not as l/s. The on sale black traincase came back. It’s for CP, minus the blush/HL. Pretty decent, as the dividers can be moved, but the bottom compartment does not open very wide. Yes. I kind of hide my m/u. B: KGD cushion: don’t have the hang of it yet. Verrry sheer coverage, but a major ‘glass skin’ finish. And the powder foundation, more coverage. 3 Sonias: face 2, sculpt 3, worker 1. SSDW. No work tomorrow; today was enough. AMs: seeing the doggie faces, when they wake up with me. The walk. Hopefully, Patticake demos her new skill, raising her hackles. New skill at 8. At first, it was a little brush between her shoulders. Now she looks like a spotted dwarf Rhodesian Ridgeback. The hair is up and almost reversed from the level of her ears on her head part way down her tail…about 24”, no jest. Damn those fast squirrels! It’s too funny. My dachsies are a little less subtle in the treat anticipation dept. Jussi s.t. pushes the backs of my knees, alternating…and that’s a jump for him. Then they carry on a bit, sometimes silent insistence and he stands to the counter where the treats are. For dinner, They get a slurry over their dry food, with bone broth, etc. that is in the fridge, and god help me, if I forget it, or the disc supplement. He lets me know. She dances around under the kitchen table. At least they settle down quickly.
Haul/Rediscoveries: Too Faced Then and Now eyeshadow palette. My birthday was Tuesday and my aunt in Florida sent it to me as a gift.
Weekend plans: Errands and L&O marathon today, work all day and SVU marathon tomorrow, joint birthday party for my uncle and I Sunday. All weekend: trying to stay out of the cold as much as possible-my area of southwest Ohio has suddenly had high and low temps drop about 20 degrees below average.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: The point when I’m finally awake enough to function properly. On days I don’t have to work, it’s not having to wake up for a while.
Haul addition: at Sunday’s joint birthday party, my aunt and cousin got me the Huda Beauty Amethyst and Sapphire Obsessions palettes, respectively.
I can empathize with Mellan, I often stare at the fridge, too (usually with the door open).
Haul: Beautylish (Gift Card Event): Chikuhodo Brushes GSN-9 and T-7; Smith Cosmetics 122 Cream Highlight Brush; Sonia G. Sculpt One, Sculpt Two, and Builder One Brushes; and Wayne Goss Brushes 6, 18, and 20. Christmas came early!!
Sephora (20% off): Farmacy Dew It All Eye Cream, Natasha Denona Camel Palette, Kat Von D Tatoo Liner (Brown), and YSL Rouge Pur Couture Gold Attraction Edition (Fuchsia).
Selfridges: SUQQU 2018 Christmas Eyeshaow Compact
Weekend Plans: Going home for a week and, hopefully, putting a dent in Christmas wishlists. I’m getting over a cold, so rest is also in the plans.
Favourite Part of Morning Routine: Having a hot cup of coffee that my husband has made and spending a few minutes together before the day gets underway.
LOL, starring at the fridge! Funny!
Thanks, Jane! ?
Haul :
The Face Shop Matte Up Tint in Bitter Orange. Revlon HD Gel Lipstick in Dawn.
Rediscovered Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace. It’s a perfect nude blush for me. I was strictly wearing Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Nude Pop which is a perfect nude too. But every time I wear Miel Glace I feel so pretty and special!
Weekend Plans : Using my VIB coupon to buy some Christmas presents. But more importantly my daughter is finally home this weekend so I want to spend time with her. Maybe see Bohemian Rapsody again. Practice driving. Go out for Chinese food.
Favorite part of morning routine: nothing beats the feeling of a clean face and teeth!
Haul/Rediscoveries: Hourgless Unlocked Palette (loving it), rediscovering some pinkier blushes and highlighters as my skin tone is finally losing my tan and I’m wearing lighter foundation
Weekend plans: Recovering from this cold.
What’s your favorite part about your morning routine?: Putting on makeup. It’s the most creative and Zen part of the day.
Haul: No beauty related purchases but I did buy 2 new pairs of Converse All Stars. Baby blue glitter and black and silver animal print.
Weekend plans: BIL’s 30th birthday party on Saturday night, family farm open gate day all day Sunday so I’ll be feeding calves (very slobbery business) and driving track circuits on a quad bike towing a trailer full of hay bales and townies 🙂
Fave part of the morning routine: Coffee in bed with my husband every morning. Sometimes the cat joins us. I hate rushing to get ready so I always get up early enough that we can sit in bed together with coffee for at least 15 minutes.
