Haul: I picked up that By Terry Impearlious gloss set, but it’s going back – the scent is unbearable! I don’t love the texture, either.
Weekend plans: I’d like to give my house a good cleaning, and we are meeting with a stone guy tomorrow to hopefully choose a material for our master bath countertops
Have you tried meditation?: No, but I should try it sometime, I think. I’m a very Type A, high strung-person and I really should look for some ways to find calm.

Lea Avatar

Sorry you didn’t care for the scent Julia. As Wwendy and I mentioned, it’s distinct for sure and either you love it or hate it. The Impearlious/shimmer is new, so I’ll have to see what it does to the texture of the balm. My solo mini pink ones came in, so I’ll have to open one and see. Was it gritty from the shimmer or something else that you didn’t like?

Julia Avatar

it wasn’t gritty exactly – the shimmer is very finely milled – but since it’s already a thick balm texture to begin with, the addition of the shimmer made it almost a little pasty, and it was not very shiny once applied.

Julia Avatar

This was my first By Terry purchase so I can’t compare the two. If you like rose scent and don’t mind it under your nose all day you might like it, but it is NOT subtle.

Lea Avatar

I just opened one up and if you are familiar with the scent, it will smell pretty standard to the pits and the tube versions they’ve released the past few years. The pink tint light and the reflects are more silver than last years gold shimmer. It’s nice and I’m happy with the solo ones. I’m curious how the other colors will come out in the bigger set but it looks like they’d be subtle as well.

Julia – if you’re looking for a glossier balm, I would suggest the new Armani Him/Hers – the tints are light but the balm is really nice. Or Amore Pacific’s lip treatment which definitely wears shiny like a gloss but is a treatment.

Haul: Oy, I’ve been hauling. I got a new pan on the way from Le Creuset, Fresh Seaberry Cleansing Oil, The Bite Holiday lip pencil kit, and (are you sitting down) TOM FREAKIN FORD Velvet Orchid lipstick. I also picked up the Real techniques Bold Metals Tapered Blush Brush. I totally blame the Tom Ford on you, Christine 😛

Weekend plans: Not die in the Typhoon. Yeah, everything in my house is electric, so I pray we don’t lose power. My street is flooded partly into my yard. Luckily, my house is on a bit of hill so I should be ok. I don’t know how I’m going to go grocery shopping or do much of anything else as it’s like not advisable to drive.

Meditation: Yes! I’m slowly getting better at it with the help of Biofeedback!

Genevieve Avatar

We have been hearing here in Australia about the hurricanes/typhoons you have been experiencing. I really hope that your place doesn’t get flooded. Keep some torches handy, because power outages are quite common in floods. Recently a whole state of Australia was outed during a flood and high wind event.

Awww, what a sweet face! Mellan is toooo cute 🙂
*Haul – Buxom Shimmer Shock Lipstick in Thunderbolt (love! it’s a much more pigmented lipstick version of MAC Star Trek glosses in Khaaan & Warp Speed), UD Optical Blurring Blush at 50% off (thanks for the tip Michele!), Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, and point freebie, Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl Lip Enhancing Color in Vinyl ( the first PH lipstick that doesn’t turn neon pink on me! It’s a MLBB soft berry, but has a slight perfume taste). Sadly, Dior Fusion Mono Shadow in Olympe is going to be returned. I wanted to use it as a sparkly topper on top of powder shadows, but it’s not sparkly enough for me, and when I try to build layers, it gets very dry-looking on the lids (like old liquid paper that dried out) and makes my lids look very crepey 🙁
*Weekend -it’s going to be raining and storming here, so we’re battening down the hatches and staying home. Do some clean up, catch up on paper work, play with makeup
*Meditation -haven’t tried it yet. The closest I get is daydreaming

Katherine T. Avatar

I only have Buxom Thunderbolt, so I can’t speak for the other colors, but it’s awesome. It’s a gorgeous purplish berry with pretty sparkles and shimmer. It’s about 85-90% opaque on me, so it has the pigment of a lipstick, but the shine and lightness of a gloss, and the ease of a twist up crayon. It’s goes on very smooth, feels light on the lips, but is hydrating, and you can swipe-and-go, no lip liner or pencil sharpener needed. Out of my big purple lippie stash, this is one of the easiest purples to wear. These Shimmer Shock lippies have been so under-the-radar, I will need to check out more colors for sure.

Katherine T. Avatar

They haven’t got much love or attention at all! The closest dupe I have is MAC Star Trek Lip Gloss in Warp Speed, but Thunderbolt is much more pigmented and the magenta pearl shimmer is much more refined. There are swatches of the line on By Georgia Grace’s blog, but my Thunderbolt is much more pigmented and shimmery; it’s really hard to capture that magenta pearl shimmer on camera. There’s also a couple of decent videos on You Tube, but that’s about it. But you can also go to Sephora or Ulta to swatch. If you do buy, let me know how you like 🙂

Katherine T. Avatar

Thanks for the tip! I had no idea these even existed. Thank you, I will check them out! For sparkly toppers, I like Chanel D’Illusion Ombre (New Moon) and Dior Mono Fusion (Aventure-silver ), but they are really pricey, so I only have a couple. I also recommend MAC Soft Serve ( Must Be Lust – warm orange gold sparkles) If you like that color.

Haul:

– MUR Vivid Baked Strobe Highlighter in Radiant Lights. Accidentally bought the Strobe version, not the regular Vivid Baked Highlighter when I was on Superdrug online. Superdrug only seems to carry the Peach and Golden Lights versions where I am, so I should have known better! The Strobe version is quite subtle, so I don’t know whether it makes a real difference to my routine. I’ll probably eventually get the Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights because the quality seems so different.
– Schwarzkopf Color Freeze Shampoo, Schwarzkopf Repair Rescue Conditioner. These are my HG hair wash products! I’m glad I managed to find them at TK Maxx but I wish I’d found them sooner!

Weekend plans: Homework on Saturday, and then I’m going thrift-shopping on Sunday!
Have you tried meditation?: Yes, but it didn’t help.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Kimberly, Sleek Hair also carries Schwarzkopf products. They’re in the US but they do ship elsewhere. I’ve ordered from them before and they’re legit. So if you end up needing new ones and can’t find them closer to you, you can always try there – they usually have a discount running too.

Love the face!
Haul:
Beautylish: Jeffree Star Lip Ammunition (Popsicle Dream), Velour Liquid Lipstick (Leo). Popsicle Dream is a smidge lighter than UD in Twitch.

Dolls Kill: Medusa’s Makeup Eye-Mazing Eyeshadow (Safari Collection in Jungle Fever) and Moonlight Powder Highlighter, Lime Crime Perlees Lipstick (Charmed, Mirage, and Asphalt – clearance), Liquid Eyeliner (Reason)

Lord & Taylor (10% off): Estee Lauder Pink Perfection Makeup Set, Clarins 4-Color Eyeshadow Palette (Rosewoods)

MAC: Spellbinder Shadow (Gravity’s Pull)

Nordstrom: Estee Lauder Glow & Bronze Duo, 7 piece GWP. I didn’t need the bronzer yet but I bought it as a back-up because I loved the GWP. It includes the skincare I use plus a really nice eyeshadow palette.

QVC: Tarte Shape Tape w/Sponge (Light Medium) It was sold out everywhere, including on Tarte. I did a Google search and found it on QVC. During my makeup application, the MUA used it to create the cut crease and it worked great.

Sephora: Chosungah 22 24H Raybeam Highlighter (Shimmer Bronze), Sephora Collection Dry Clean Instant Dry Brush Cleaner Spray, Sephora Collection Foot Mask (Almond), Marvis Toothbrush, sephora Collection Pro Domed Crease Brush (2, clearance), Tarte Gallery Gals Deluxe Tartiest Eyeliner Set, Sephora Collection Brush It Off Cleansing Brush Wipes (2, clearance), Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl Color Enhancing Lipstick (16 Noir Revelateur – thanks to Katherine for alerting me to this point reward!), Juliette Has a Gun deluxe sample (x4)

Ulta: Nyx Cosmic Metals Lip Cream (Speed of Light), Maybelline Color Sensational Loaded Bolds (Raging Raisin and Violet Vixen, sale), Pacifica Glow Baby Youthful Face Scrub (2, sale), Catrice Liquid Metal Gel Eye Pencil (Hazel the Hoff), Matrix 5 piece GWP

Urban Decay (Early Access): Full Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette

Weekend plans: I have to go to the local bookstore and exchange a book light I purchased that doesn’t work. Otherwise, no formal plans. It’s going to be really nice here this weekend so I’m hoping to find something to do outside.

Have you tried meditation?: No, I don’t think it would suit my personality.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Finally got a chance to really play around with the palette. I love that the trios shades are buildable. I’ve been able to create dramatic full-on color looks and subtle looks using the same shades. I’ve had no trouble having my looks last all day without creasing or fading. I had been on the fence when I bought the palette but I’m really happy I did.

Julia Avatar

I got that Givenchy lipstick sample too, I really like it! It reminds me of a really high end tinted balm with a lovely emollient texture.

How do you like the Shape Tape so far? I’ve been seeing very positive reviews and I’m curious.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Yes the Givenchy was a real surprise. I was worried about the added fragrance but it’s not powerful at all. It was surprisingly more hydrating than I expected. Really happy too.

My only experience with the Shape Tape is for use creating a cut crease. The shade (Light Medium) is actually not a match for my skin (just my eyelids) so i couldn’t even try it anywhere else. I’m happy with my Marc Jacobs and UD concealers (I switch depending on the foundation I’m wearing) anyway so I don’t plan on buying the correct match in Tarte. For a cut crease, the Shape Tape works like a dream. I use it after first having used a primer and base shadow and it doesn’t seem to crease at all. The wear is beautiful but it does take a bit to dry down as on application it’s pretty tacky.

kjh Avatar

I pretty much liked that shade in shape tape, bec it dried much cooler than the initial swatch, at least much redder and less yellow. Idk if I’m light enough to use it for cut crease. My crease is misbehaving these days. Doesn’t sound nice, but comprehensible on a makeup blog. Also thanks for brush cleaning suggestions, bec running out. Like Raging Raisin…will try it tomorrow with the Ciate palette. I really like the Catrice pencils in general, and the metals, specifically. Blingo Starr is a decent, mildly cooler dupe for the Julep platinum shade, at a fraction of the price. Hauled a helluva lotta Ulta lower end liners this past year, and many are excellent.

Wajiha Avatar

Haul: Well I’ve been harping on about it for at least three weeks now but my DHL finally came yesterday (I missed it the first two days) with VBxEL Eye Palette and Modern Mercury. Picked up a 300ml bottle of Micellar water from Swisse, a local brand for 1/2 off. It ended up being around USD 4.20 heh

Weekend Plans: Spring cleaning, grocery and meal prep for the rest of the week

Meditation: Only guided meditation during yoga. It is pretty relaxing but I can’t meditate on my own. My brain is always hyperactive.

Claire L Avatar

Haul: MAC eyeshadows in Selena and Fotos y Recardos, love them! Fotos looks less patchy than in your swatch and review so I’m very pleased. Ciate x Chloe Morello Beauty Haul. Will be interested in your review when it’s done, liked your swatches enough to go for it. It’ll be a nice neutral palette for me with a bit shimmer.

Weekend plans: Still trying to get our little girl to stay in bed lol. She thinks it’s all a huge game. Arrrgh! She’s brilliant otherwise. I was on my own for a long time before I met my fiance at 35 and didn’t think I would have a child so it’s a joy to have her, if hard work! I think I wouldn’t have been ready if I’d been younger so it was for the best that it happened later.

Have I tried meditation? Yes, it has its place but I find it a bit boring! I prefer to switch off by having a nap or reading or a shower.

Rachel R. Avatar

Haul: Kat von D Metal Matte Palette (I love it so much. Such fantastic mattes. Why couldn’t Serpentina’s mattes been that good?!), the Urban Decay Ultimate Basics Palette (I haven’t gotten to play with it much yet, but so far I like it fine), Too Faced Love Palette (A friend picked it up for me from Nordstrom Rack. I love the sparkles.), and Nyx Liquid Suede Cream in Subversive Socialite (Darkest purple, almost black, and very opaque. Simply gorgeous.).

Weekend plans: Saturday was supposed to be my birthday party, but as the Pacific NW is getting high-to-hurricane force winds and flooding, I had to cancel any plans. My birthday is Monday, so hopefully by then there will be small enough lull between wind storms to grab a birthday cake somewhere. It’s silly but I’m pretty disappointed. Last year I couldn’t go out for my b-day because my I injured by Achilles tendon just before and was a cast. I was really wanting to do something fun this year. C’est la vie.

Have you tried meditation?: Yes, but I get too bored and my mind wanders. I suck at it. lol

Katherine T. Avatar

Happy Birthday Rachel! Hope you get to celebrate soon. Glad to hear you are loving Kat Von D MetalMatte, it’s my fave palette at this moment. And in case you are interested, NYX also came out with a matching Suede Matte Lip Liner in Subversive Socialite. I think I have it in my stash, but haven’t had a chance to use it yet.

kjh Avatar

Ooh, the Rack and Saks Off Fifth are going in right beside my local Ulta. I’ve done Hautelook, but there has never been a rack nearby. And how convenient to add to an Ulta cruise. Thanks for the reminder. Happy birthday. Hope it doesn’t turn into an Eeyore one, due to the weather.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Rachel, I was in Target today juts browsing around and I noticed in the makeup section (but on a Halloween makeup display) Wet n Wild has released 3 bold mascaras: hot pink, bright blue, and bright purple. Dummy me, meant to go back and grab one of each on the way but I forgot – I may order them since they were only $2.99 each. Thought you’d want to know 🙂

Haul: –
Weekend plans: Going to a 40th birthday party on Sunday, and baking a lemon & honey tart to take with us.
Have you tried meditation?: Yes. Both my husband and myself used to meditate regularly and found it really relaxing. Must get back into the habit regularly again.

ouineque Avatar

No haul for me, but I did have the time to try out almost all of my The Ordinary skincare, especially when I was away on a silent retreat with meditation last week. There I used ‘the Buffet’ almost twice a day every day. And although there is nothing like silence, breathing exercises and meditation for the skin (it’s like natural botox), I really liked the effect of this. With these serums I think I can cut down on spending money on moisterizers, which are most of the time not so efficient.
Weekend plans: I do have some books and articles to read for work. And further: cleaning, meeting friends (yay!) and with automn here fully I feel like baking something. Cinnamon muffins, apple pie, something like that.
And yes, I do meditate after my breathing exercices every morning (it’s mostly thinking, hahaha, but that doesn’t matter. It’s about the effect it has). And, since I got back from the silence I am back on track with the afternoon meditations as well. The retreat was like a healing proces for my concussion. I feel better now then I have felt the past months. Trick is now not to go too fast into all kinds of activities again, I need to build up slowly, but I think I manage. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Christine, thumbs up for all the holiday reviewing… wauw… and congratulations for the 10th anniversary of Temptalia. 🙂

Haul: I got two Hakuhodo brushes yesterday. So far I am in love. So soft!
Weekend plans: Last minute stuff before my vacation. I also bought a history book to read before I leave so I know about where I’m going and I haven’t gotten very far into it. So reading, going to Target to get travel sized stuff.
Have you tried meditation?: I have anxiety and when it’s particularly bad I listen to guided meditation. I find it very helpful. Just sitting and doing it on my own does not work for me, though.

thirteen Avatar

I got a J5523BkSL eye shadow brush and a J210 blush brush. They’re SO soft. I don’t really know if the softness makes makeup application better and I haven’t had a ton of time to compare and contrast, but I just really enjoy brushes that feel good because I like feeling fancy!

Mindy Avatar

Haul: Nothing. Thinking on going on a no-buy for 2017 since I have enough beauty products to last me my entire lifetime (and baby #2 is due in December).
•Weekend plans: The AZ Taco Festival is this weekend so I’m taking my pregnant behind out for some tacos!
•Have you tried meditation?: Prayer is a form of meditation right? I don’t pray a lot, but I’d say that’s about the only meditation I do.

CatG Avatar

Haul: 10 Makeup Geek Sparklers (I hate the packaging so much), 6 pressed eye glitters!
Weekend plans: I have no plans!!
Have you tried meditation?: Yes and it can help! It’s something I recommend to my clients/patients.

That picture is TOOOOOOO much!!! <3 <3 <3

HAUL:
Twitching to get the Ciate London Chloe Morello palette, but waiting for review. Can anyone here weigh in?

I also saw this 46 Hot Shades from EL. I think this looks pretty good, and if the shadows are decent, I'll be covered full spectrum. I use the foundation, so I could easily qualify for offer. Thoughts? http://www.esteelauder.com/products/636/Product-Catalog/Makeup/Eyes/Eyeshadows?&cm_mmc=Paid_Search-_-Google-_-Brand_Product-_-estee%20lauder%20eyeshadow

Got a new pair of Tweezerman eyebrow scissors, and KVD tattoo liner in Trooper. I really do like that liner.

WEEKEND:
My husband is on a project in Aruba, and I'm here. 🙁 He's coming home Monday. So I plan to hang with the pups, sort and organize my closet, and likely go poke around in a store or three.

MEDITATION:
Sitting and meditating is not my thing. I swim often, and on weekends I often swim longer distances. That's my moving meditation. In the medium of water, in a rhythm, with just the sound of my breathing is my head quieting time. I run and bike on other days. but nothing gets me to the peacefulness of the water.

LindaP Avatar

Living in the NoEast, I mostly swim in a 25m pool. My pool has 30 feet of glass on two sides facing woods. It’s very pretty. Sometimes in the winter the snow is falling as you swim. I prefer 50m, but it’s too much of a drive for me to get to that pool and back before work.

In the summer, I swim open water as much as I can. I live close to Walden Pond. Sometimes in the early morning, there is still mist on the water, and I swear the spirit of Henry David wafts about. 🙂 It’s a very meditative place.

Claire L Avatar

I got the Ciate x Chloe Morello palette, I like it. (See my post above). The shades are very wearable, only 2 shades are a bit sheer, the 2 lightest. They do feel very buttery, I haven’t tried them on my eyes, only swatched them. It’s not AMAZING but I’m pleased I got it, I think it’ll be a good workhorse and it has the ultimate autumn shade in Fierce (cranberry). I already have the FUN palette and I think that one’s better.

Michele @Binxcat4ever Avatar

Linda, trust me, you need the Ciate palette/haul. It’s much better than the ABH Mario because: 1. There’s a better mix of finishes, 2. There are more shadows included, 3. It’s less expensive esp. if you consider you get a gorgeous wearable pink matte lippie, a really good mascara, and a cosmetic bag with it. The shadows are intensely pigmented, blendable, and long-lasting. I believe Christine posted swatches. I did on my social media accounts as well.
I considered that EL palette but even though EL shadows are generally good, I realize I seldom use very large palettes and they take up so much room (that I don’t have bc of my other palettes). For the price, it’s well worth the money I’m sure.

LindaP Avatar

Hi Michele,

My friend let me play with her Mario palette one evening at her house. (It was fun.) Everything turned muddy on me, I will say that. We both agreed that for some reason, the colors actually aged me, and all the shimmery shades we tried were the worst culprits. I can wear a little shimmer from other lines, so who knows why…

I think it freaked her out…I’ll have to ask her if she ended up keeping it. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll prolly get it. 🙂

Linda Avatar

(Typed up a reply, not sure where it went. If this is a dupe…sorry.)

That photo just hits me right in the heart!

HAUL:
Twitching to get the Ciate London Chloe Morella palette. Can anyone weigh in?

I did see this 46 Color offer from EL. I use the foundation so could qualify for the offer. The shadows alone would cover me full spectrum, assuming their decent. Thoughts? http://www.esteelauder.com/products/636/Product-Catalog/Makeup/Eyes/Eyeshadows?&cm_mmc=Paid_Search-_-Google-_-Brand_Product-_-estee%20lauder%20eyeshadow

Got a new pair of Tweezerman eyebrow scissors (oh joy!), and replaced my KVD Tattoo Line in Trooper. That’s it.

WEEKEND:
My husband is in Aruba on a project, and I’m not. 🙁 He comes home Monday. I plan to hand with the pups, sort through my closet, and maybe poke around a store or three.

MEDITATION:
Sitting meditation is not my thing. I swim a lot, and often longer distances on the weekend. The medium of water, in a rhythm, with only the sound of my breathing is what quiets my mind. I bike and swim on other days, but nothing has the meditative effect on me of that movement in water.

LindaP Avatar

The ones I had were from a souvenir gizmo palette a friend brought back for me from Tokyo. You know the kind… scissors, clippers, etc. Thing is, she gave it to me in the late 80s!!!! I figured it was time to replace them since they were bugging me. Light dawns on the dim — probably dull. So these are my first “name brand” brow scissors. 🙂

Haul: So last Friday I caved…. so glad I did. I got the Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette and Urban Decay Junkie Vice Lipstick Palette.

Weekend plans: My closest friend wedding is tomorrow, I’ve actually never meet her husband in person so this shall be fun. 😉

Have you tried meditation?: No, but I think I should because my brain is always on hyperdrive. It’s partly why I like playing video games, helps to only think on one task and not think about other things. lol

The Makeup Train Avatar

Haul: Chanel Le Vernis in Fortissimo (eBay find!), Corso Como Navy Suede heels, Tarte Tartiest Lip Paints in Manbun, Hangry and Bae (Bae is a decent substitute if you missed out on MAC Selena lipstick in Como La Flor).

Weekend plans: Major clean up of the apartment. So many things need to be tossed out.

Have you tried meditation?: Years ago. It doesn’t really help me now.

I love it when dogs play with their toys. So cute!

kjh Avatar

I only got the small version in Namaste, is it? From the Sephora nude lip set. I don’t like either the formula or the color, and have no yen to try other colors. It’s spongy and weird, doesn’t dry before it goes patchy or uneven. Primer or balming did not improve it. Not a fan.

Katherine T. Avatar

I heard the Tarte Lip Paints were a mixed bag, but their Glossy Paints are the more traditional gloss formula. I have Slay, I think you might like it. It’s a muted grayish orchid purple, one of the few gray purples that don’t make me look dead. It’s a lot pinker on Christine, but on me, it’s more muted purple.

Heather Avatar

Haul: Probably too much–both Bite trios (Bold & Nude), plus some brush cleanser and cleansing tools. Oh, and four MUFE shadows–I decided it was time to try their shimmers!
Weekend plans: Clean and organize my room, mend my sister’s clothes, study for next week’s midterms, correct student essays, go to work, rock some bold lipstick. 🙂
Meditation?: I’ve tried it, but I find other things more meditative (painting nails, exercise, etc).

Nicole Avatar

Haul: I was actually thinking of buying something from Besame (still am) when I saw on instagram that Lancome’s new Audacity in London palette was released, so I hopped on over there and got the new Audacity palette, the matte lip crayon in Only Wine Will Tell, the brow powder pencil in Natural Blonde and the new brow mascara in Blonde. Confession time: I have never, ever used a brow pencil on myself. I’ve always been strictly powder or pomade. So I’m really excited about the brow products (almost more than the palette, how nuts is that?). I also got a lot of nice GWP things from them with my order-that was half of how I justified it. Always need more eyelash primer and makeup remover, you know?

Weekend plans: As of two days ago I’m done moving, YAY, so I’m actually not sure. I need to get some errands done but I’m about as awake during the day as I am at 2am, so I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

Have you tried meditation?: I have. I like the idea of it, but the practice of it didn’t do much for me. Actually, living with anxiety (hereditary and probably nurtured-every woman in my maternal line has ridiculous anxiety and I am by far the lease anxious of them, which is really saying something) and the tension that comes from that, constantly trying to control/mitigate it, work around it, etc, has made me feel like I am tired of trying to manipulate my own mind. It’s sort of like if you’ve been dieting forever and then one day you wake up and realize you just want to eat. The constant trying is more stress than what you started with, basically. Anyways, that’s just my own experience. I think it’s awesome that it works for so many people!

Christine Avatar

I’ll be curious to hear how you like the new Audacity palette! I haven’t used it on eyes yet, so I’m not sold on it yet!

I can understand what you’re saying – the comparison to dieting made it really easy to understand where you are coming from!

Nicole Avatar

Thank you! I’ll definitely update in next Friday’s haul, if I haven’t just gotten it by then lol. I don’t remember if standard shipping with Lancome is fast or not. I’m definitely looking forward to your review (not in a rushing you way, just in a general looking-forward-to-your-thoughts way)! I’m not either, to be honest. I hope it performs better than it swatches.

I’m glad to hear that! I wasn’t sure if I was explaining my thoughts very well.

I hope you have a great weekend, Christine!

LindaP Avatar

Anxiety. I have it BIG TIME — genetic, like you, and also a learned behavior from EVERY woman in my family too. What a struggle coming and going. That’s why the water and swimming works so well for me. I can let it go, but I have to be moving.

My GYN (hormone specialist) recommended I try 750 mg of Turmeric Curcumin daily. That’s right, the spice. She said it has the natural effect on the body of 10 mg of Prozac. In fact, people who need 20mg of Prozac can try 10/10 and it often works to limit the drug dosage. Anyway, I take it and it has helped me tremendously. I can feel it when I miss. I feel more like “me” rather than being buffeted by anxiety. TMI, I hope not. Hope it helps. 🙂

Nicole Avatar

I sorry you have anxiety too, Linda! It really is a huge struggle. I can totally relate to swimming being helpful. I swam a LOT as a kid/younger teen and it made everything better. I really need to start swimming again.

Oh wow, that’s really interesting! I’ve taken quite a few different herbal supplements in my day, but never turmeric curcumin. I will definitely have to try that. Not TMI at all! I appreciate you sharing-so much of the “advice” I get is actually from people who have never dealt with anxiety, so getting actual advice from someone who has is really helpful. I’m so happy for you that you’ve found two things that really help!

kjh Avatar

Side note. Trader Joe’s has Ginger Turmeric tea that is TDF. It may be out of stock, as it was a major hit. It is being restocked. (That’s the thing I asked if it were perm or LE, and the woman had no clue what I meant…too much makeup reading). It is so good, that every time I have another tea, I have a fleeting disappointment that it isn’t ginger turmeric. So goood!!! And more turmeric is unlikely to hurt.

kjh Avatar

You nailed it, Linda. My old gyn for pms then ‘pause, said to get myself a psychopharm, listen, and not quit until a decade later. Good advice. I had depression with ‘angry and agitated features.’ The gyn gave me 30 days of Xanax, though I perceive myself as someone who OUGHT to be anxious, but isn’t. I never took the xanax except prn, but had that result you want. It did not affect my consciousness, energy, or thinking, any of the areas that psychotropic meds can, but when I was in a scary, snowy near accident on a highway…I had no reaction whatever. I was just calm. Normally, I would have been pounding on the other car and yelling wtf is wrong with you, AH? After a 540 degree spin, bouncing off the snow banks, landing 10 feet from me, facing me? Not a flicker. Damped down everything. That’s what you want with meds: work when you need them, but don’t make you feel as if you have something on board. Too bad that so many are benzos, bec they can be massively habituating. They can be a real consideration, but only with regular good supervision. PCPs really do not have the necessary skill level to monitor this. And try kicking it up a notch in this insurance climate.

Try a besame at the Sephora sale. I love them, ordered from their site before Sephora had them. But, I’m a red freak. The formulas are lovely. Congratulations on being done with the moving. Good luck with the anxiety. I think when it is so definitely hard wired, it is even more recalcitrant.

Nicole Avatar

I was definitely thinking about that, but I also have a 20% off code at Besame that I’ve been trying really hard not to use. I imagine I’ll end up using one of them. I’m glad to know you like them! I’m a red freak too. Have way too many. Thank you! I really appreciate that. It definitely is.

Haul: ABH Master Palette, Colourpop Hutch Ultra Satin, Colourpop Notion Ultra Matte, Colourpop Monster highlight. I am not good at eye shadow but ABH Master Palette is so foolproof! Waiting for my Colourpop order.

Weekend plans: Be pitiful while my husband goes on a quick business trip. Maybe visit my parents so I don’t get lonely. I told you, I am pitiful.

Meditation: I try to read the bible every day and meditate on what I have just read, how it can apply to me, and what it teaches me about God. It is amazing.

Nancy T Avatar

I know exactly what you mean, Olivia! Reading a chapter of the Bible each night and actually meditating on what I just read, letting its message sink deep into my heart and work at transforming me from within has worked at helping me cope with life’s ups and downs, and to be more grateful for all that He’s blessed me with. I’m still a major work in progress, though!

Oh, Mellan is such a cutie. I know what you mean about restraining yourself from flying home. I feel that way about my cat.
Haul- Ciate Chloe Morello palette, the Color Swatch brush cleaner by Vera Mona, some more Korean Skin Care items which I have wanted to try, namely a gel to foam cleanser, fermented essence and serum.
Weekend Plans- Now that everything is out of the garage we are starting the actual garage conversion. When that is completed we are going to start a new garage, storage shed and a 24 x 24 man cave for my ex-husband. We have already had snow here in Montana so not sure why we felt the need to start this project now but I tend to be the type of person that once I make my mind up to do something I just don’t want to wait to get started.
Meditation- No I really haven’t in the traditional sense. I do calm my mind a read scripture which I guess is my meditation.

He has over 1000 vinyl albums so wants a place where he can have them all together and be able to play them at maximum volume which is something my totally introverted personality and love of solitude just can’t take. He also wants some work out equipment and a wood burning fireplace or stove for ambiance. He is a huge Kansas City Chiefs football fan and wants to display his memorabilia and he loves westerns so wants pictures of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, et al. My design esthetic is more traditional with a little shabby chic mixed in so you can see the problem, LOL.

Deborah S. Avatar

I am really enjoying it as I like doing one shadow looks for everyday wear and I really love that many of the matte shades have very similar, if not the same, shimmery shades. They apply well and are very pigmented so I do have to be careful with application but they blend well. This is my first Ciate palette and I had heard good things about their shadows. I haven’t had it long enough to do more than just a few looks but so far, I really like it.

Galactomyces? I really want to get some zinc ferment, bec I’m zinc deficient. It’s # 1 Why I can’t smell, and an underlying factor in my skin issues.

Haul: So the whole NYX debacle – I got an email saying my order was shipped, but then only got charged $11.69. (There’s still a pending charge for $33.71 on my paypal though, which I will be calling paypal about today). I got the order which SUPPOSEDLY was my ~entire order~ only to find it was just 2 of the 5 items (which I’d kind of suspected from the weird charge), the white eye base and a lip pencil. I decided to keep it because I hadn’t re-ordered the eye base when I ordered from Ulta and I’d have to pay return shipping out-of-pocket for the return anyways. Not worth it to me to pay $3 shipping on a $12 return. I also still have not heard back form customer service despite repeated emails and phone calls. Their entire website is still out of stock with no explanation. Ridiculous.

Weekend plans: Fixing the sink plumbing in the master bath. It’s set up for a single sink, but had a twin sink vanity when we moved in and we bought a twin sink vanity to replace it. Also picking out a nice prefab cabinet for the linen closet area, which before had just been an open alcove.

Have you tried meditation? yeah, and it’s not really for me.

monica Avatar

Haul: I got some OGX shampoos and conditioners from Ulta

Weekend plans: Heading up to best friend’s house for the weekend! Haven’t seen her since March

Have you tried meditation?:it’s really hard for me to just quiet my mind, work in progress.

Also, for some reason yesterday I thought it was Friday. I was afraid I missed the weekly Free for Haul. I was scrolling through all most recent pages for the post but then I realized it was Thursday lol

How does he know that the pic is being sent to his beloved Mummy, bec I am certain that he does. Hope he’s keeping you steadfast company, as you plow through the holiday glut. He must be a real comfort, as you contemplate hair tear versus nap!
Haul: Ciate came. Very nice. The light shades remind me of the top row of last year’s MJ palette. No shows on arm swatches in an evening lit room, but they do build and differentiate. The cools may be what make this palette, but the warms are blendable and non-muddy. There is a nice mix of light/dark, matte/shimmer. Lots can be done with this one. Metal/Matte. Had a big moment of fear and dragged the package from the paper trash. The metals KILLED at night, over UDPP. All my joints, esp feet were killing, too. But I took vast quantities of ibuprofen, Zyrtec, and loaded my lids with Rx hydrocortisone at bedtime. In the am, I put on pig piles of 3 shades (no one is batting an eye at having Mimi style and unmatched eyes with no other m/u, at a place I generally forego m/u) and no sting or burn. Since I can damp the problem down, it’s a keeper. M/M would be quite usable with bottom row only, with other palettes, anyway. Think I had better spend on a rheumatologist visit, rather than m/u, but my ins is messed up, despite having paid until the end of the year. Big haul???! Got the whole ‘suite’ of dachshund sheets for far too much dough. Jussi ought to disappear on them, bec he and the print are both black and tan. Plans: apps for new night job and existing night job, bane of my meager existence. Meditation: only yoga breathing and sometimes envisualization. Love to free associate, though.

kjh Avatar

I don’t need to change my part time professional job, only my p/t night crap job. If I stopped with the makeup addiction, I wouldn’t need a night job! Remember that I am retirement age, so ft professional work is out. They don’t consider you. I am very lucky to have both a sped and speech background and have found a non profit that values both. And doesn’t care if I am old and arthritic! With easy commute and flexible hours. I like to be productive and of service, to what I consider ‘my’ population. If I need to work a S… job, it might as well be Petco or Trader Joe’s. Now I have 5 years cashier experience, so ought to be able to get a different retail job.

Haul: ABH Master Palette by Mario (I said I wouldn’t…I said I wouldn’t…and then I did. Haha.)
Weekend plans: Dissertation writing and fun book reading (got add some balance). Other than that, errands…
Have you tried meditation?:I have, and I have enjoyed it. However, I just can’t seem to incorporate it into my life as a regular thing. It’s my same problem with going to the gym :-b

tessie84 Avatar

It’s actually currently on it’s way to me via Sephora.com. If I can remember, I’ll try to let you know during the next Free for Haul. I feel like it will be a good one-and-done palette (as in you don’t need to go outside the palette to create eye looks), and I’ve heard many people rave at it having great pigmentation. So, I expect it to be good. I just need to see if it adds something to my collection since I already have so many neutral palettes…if it doesn’t, then I may take it back.

Mellan’s face warms my heart and puts a big smile on my face, and he’s not even my pet! ??

Haul: KVD Metal Matte, UD Vintage Lipstick in Plague, Ole Henriksen 3 Little Wonders, Sephora Retractable Waterproof eyeliner in Matte Black, Sephora Show Curl Eyelash Curler (regular, not XL). My UD order of Gash and Snow are scheduled for delivery today! I love my Metal Matte palette….except for a few of the mattes being an ubër b*tch to blend. Specifically, Stone and Moss. Other than that, it’s fantastic!

Weekend plans: My usual. Hair, possibly nails, definitely meeting. Praying for my friends and a few relatives living in the Pacific Northwest as they are being hit with probably the worst storm they’ve had in many decades.

Have you tried meditation: That would depend on ones definition of meditation! No TM for me, but I do practice some mindfulness relaxation techniques as part of my ongoing therapy for PTSD and its subsequent anxiety attacks. It really helps!

Tracey E. Avatar

Mellan looks so harmless, even with a plush toy in his mouth.

Haul: Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in Nude. Love it! Also Bobbi Brown Extra Lip tint – testing for stockings but not passing, sadly. (Bought both on a BB/Gilt $30 of $80+)

Weekend Plans: Still getting over cold. Going out for dinner on Saturday. Packing summer clothes away and unpacking Fall/early winter clothes.

Meditation: I have a health condition that benefits from guided meditation, even reminders to take a few deep breaths. When my health condition really flares, meditation is one of the items in the wellness ‘toolkit’. I keep guided meditations close at hand and aspire to incorporate some aspect into my regular routine. I think the idea of pausing and taking a few deep breaths to calm/relax oneself vs. reacting or becoming more anxious should be taught in school as a life skill.

We are lucky he is a pretty easy going dog, lol! His bite is ridiculous (he isn’t aggressive, but he is OBSESSIVE with food and we can’t get him to take treats gently 90% of the time, so I have felt the pressure of a nip, and it’s strong!).

He does not seem to have a desire to really tear apart his toys, though, and he loves stuffed ones! I know other dog owners say those types of toys don’t last more than a few minutes!

Do you have a recommendation for guided meditation? That was the type I was trying!

Neiman Marcus – CdP lip palette #1 the red one; beautiful colors – wore red yesterday and the plum one today; Armani Runway eye tint (sold out in store and had to have it shipped).

Saks – the mini shimmer lip balm from ByTerry in the solo pink color; I’ll probably pick up the set but I want to see the colors in person before buying.

Nars – received my Indes Galantes and it swatches and applies really nicely on my skin. I had no problems with the burgundy shade looking patchy; on the contrary I needed to go in lightly as it went on darker than I was expecting based on the photos. I also picked up the 413Bleeker duo – the plum/taupe color is beautiful, but I’m wondering if I should have just bought the single.

Sephora – I returned my AB Mario palette and picked up two MUFE eyeshadows in M846 Morello Cherry and M928 Eggplant and Givency Rouge Interdit Vinyl Color Enhancing Lipstick #16 Noir Revelateur which looks blackish but is a nice sheer plummy color. I wanted MUFE M842 Wine, but it wasn’t in store.

Beautylish – I worked with one of their CS folks via chat to create a cool toned version of ABH MR (without all the orange shades) using Inglot shadows (the MUFE above will play into it as well). I found that I was really drawn to some of the MR colors and looks created with it, but wanted something better suited for my tones. Building the 10 shadow palette ends up being more expensive, but I know I like the shadow formula and I now have 11 shades that I know I’ll use instead of only using a portion of MR. I put it together today over lunch, but I’ll probably not play with it until tomorrow.

Weekend Plans – cleaning the house. Last weekend was all about the bathroom scrubdown. I’ll pick out a few rooms this weekend and go to town.

Meditation – I’m not great at it honestly. I prefer to be doing something, but if I need to chill and relax, I’ll read or listen to music. That’s the best way for me to meditate.

I love the Cle de Peau lip palettes. I wasn’t sure the colors were going to suit me entirely, but they’re really lovely. I’ve yet to be disappointed by something I’ve bought from the line -especially out of the holiday collection.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Nars duo as well. As I waited for it to ship I started wondering if there was a reason I didn’t own any powder products from them! I’ll keep you updated on the Inglot palette. I need to play around with it a bit to see what goes best, but it was the best compromise for me on the shades I liked from MR.

This is three weeks worth of haul just fyi! (I got a bonus at work!!! 😀 so I treated myself!!) Some of it’s from IMATS Toronto too!!

Haul:
From IMATS:
MUFE artist eye shadow pallet #1. I’v wanted these shadows since I read your reviews/swatches last year (?) Christine!! And they DO NOT disappoint!!
4 MAC eye shadows (Embark, Mulch, Humid, and Nylon!! I now have a COMPLETE 9 pan mac pallet!! I made it so I don’t have to pull in ANY singles, or other pallets to make a full eye look!!)
MUFE Step 1 Primer in Mattifying (I love this so far!! with the new powder foundation i’m using and will list below, I keep mate a lot longer now!!)

From LUSH:
my ALL TIME FAVOURITE lipstick is LUSH’s Santa baby. It’s a Bright orange, with redish tones on my warm/yellow skin. And I finished last years one 😛 So I bought a new one!
I also got the new liptint they have, Sugar Plum Fairy. It’s a sheer purple with a bit of a pearl! And I wore it today and it’s a TOTALLY different formula than Santa Baby, but it’s still super pretty!!
I also bought Snowcastle soap! It’s almond scented, and covered in glitter 😀

From Walmart:
Walmart Canada is now FINALLY carrying ELF!! So I picked up a green tinted primer which i’m using on my cheeks and then the MUFE one on the T zone!!
I also got a Blush/Bronzer duo in ST. Lucia. It’s PERFECT for me. I ADORE shimmery bronzers!!
I got Covergirl eye single eye shadow in French Vanilla. It’s a pearly sheer white. I used it as a highlight today!! It’s a bit stark on my NC25 skin. But It’s very pretty!!

Now time for the BIG HAUL! From Sephora, I hit VIB this week!! 😀 :
I got Clinique Cola Pop (It’s BEAUTIFUL on my yellow/medium light skin!!)
Ever since I saw your review, I’v wanted sephora brand duo reflects eye shadow (the duo chrome ones!) in Hidden Treasure. I have dark brown eyes, so this golden/shimmery green is BEAUTIFUL on them!! So I ordered one, and then used it every day this week, and ordered ANOTHER one because it’s on sale on Sephora!! 😀
I got a replacement of my HOLY GRAIL highlighter! Sephora Brand Baked Luminizor in 01 Star Dust (I actually HIT PAN and FINISHED my first one!! I think there’s quality issues, because my first and second ones, were totally different from the one you reviewed Christine!! But I love the ones I have 😛 )
I may or may not have gotten FOUR tubes of Jack Black Lip balm! I got two singles, in Shea, and Mint, and then I got the duo pack in Black Cherry and MInt!! I love these lip balms thanks to you Christine!!
I LASTLY got a BITE beauty duo lipstick in Jam and Opal!! I haven’t tried the new formula yet. But I have a luminous creme lipstick and adore it.

Samples/Freebies:
I got a mini Dior Absolutely Blooming perfume, 2 Tokyo Milk Dark Tainted Love perfume vials, and I can’t remember the brand, but the perfume is called Flowerbomb!! I got a good sized bottle of that!
I got a YSL mascara sample.
A four pack of Dior Matte lipsticks sample sheet,
I got two lotion samples, one from Glamglow, and one from Jack Black!
I also got a chunk of sexy peel soap sample from LUSH!

I think that’s it PHEW. I wont be buying anything until my birthday in February now!! 😛

WEEKEND PLANS: I’m catching a ride with my father up to my 1 best friend’s house on saturday, and we’re having a friend date day!! And then, my best friend of 15 years, is home from University this week, and is going back on Sunday/Monday. And I wont see her until December and she’s coming too!! Basically, i’m having a bit ol’ friends weekend 😀

HAVE I TRIED MEDITATION: I’v mentioned on here before, but I suffer from Extreme mental illness. I have Border line Personality disorder, depression, anxiety, and ADHD, so with my BPD and ADHD I find Meditation REALLY helps me stay in the moment, and calm down, and stay still and calm!! 😀

As a child of the late ’60s, early ’70s I’m well familiar with meditation. Took a course in TM (Transcendental Meditation) at 17 and practiced 20 min. twice daily for several years. A few yrs. ago I did 20 min. a day and still found it incredibly helpful. Not only does it lower heart rate and stress hormones, it brought me problem-solving, creative insights. My challenge is sticking with it while a I also devote a lot of time to hiking and strength training. Best book on the subject is from the ’90s, Howard (?) Benson, MD from Harvard. Best seller.

Anne Avatar

Haul: I got the Bite Beauty Duo in Opal/Jam today, along with the Burberry Beauty Box (the regular one, not the Festive one). I also got a FeelUnique order in with three Tanya Burr items- Two of her lipsticks in Central Park (a pretty Fuchsia shade) and Happily Ever After (a gorgeous coral), which were the only ones not sold out at the time, and are pretty spring/summer-y, but I’ll be hopefully getting a few more autumnal shades once they come back in stock. I also got her 12 Days Of Christmas Gift Set which is like a 12 day advent calendar.

Weekend plans: Nada as per usual

Have you tried meditation?: I have actually been doing so daily since I was 8. Good for anxiety disorders as it regulates the sympathetic & parasympathetic nervous systems. I haven’t really been able to since I got sick though because the pain keeps me from focusing. But for those who are physically able, I highly recommend trying some version of the many types of meditation out there.

Genevieve Avatar

What a beautiful shot of Mellan! He is so photogenic and there is a lot of the puppy still in him.
Haul: just some skincare item, nothing really flash.
Weekend Plans: Finally, some warmer and dry days to head out into the garden, routine chores and Saturday night dinner with the family. On Sunday we are heading out down to a beach town that has a great market, so a browse and lovely lunch is on the menu.
Meditation – yes I have and it is great for calming yourself down when you get overwhelmed by everything.

I’m not sure.
I liked the leveling.
I find the demonhunter enjoyable to play, they can double jump, that alone is fun. My main is still my old paladin, though.
I’ve not been in many dungeons and I’ve not raided.
The professions, most of all the crafting ones takes a long time to level up. I don’t mind having to do quests for new alchemy things, but I kind of dislike having to do quests in dungeons just for the profession.
The few dungeons I’ve done have been fine.
The enviroment is classic WoW, I’m a big fan of it.
There is a lot of things you “must” do to keep up, if that is what you want to do, timing various things in your class order hall, doing the 4 emmissary quests daily to get the rewards, so I find it a bit grind-y.
Are you still playing? Or your husband? What do you think, if you still play.
My son started strongly, and then decided, wisely, that he really didn’t have time to keep up everyting for raiding. He’s at university now and that is more important. Smart boy 🙂

Haul: Nothing at all – aren’t I good (I’m on a no-buy which I violated last week but I’m back on track)
Weekend plans: Gym tomorrow, then dinner at Medieval Times with a dear friend (her daughter bought it for her for Mothers Day because we’d been joking about it for ages; now we’re finally going to go but we have REAL crowns…none of that paper crowns stuff for us)
Have you tried meditation? Sure have – I’ve been to several meditation (I keep typing “medication”) workshops through my yoga studio and I really like it. I just wish I were disciplined enough to make it a part of my daily life. I especially love yoga Nidra – sort of a guided meditation experience that is absolutely amazing!

Haul: Anastasia Moonchild palette, which I positively adore for eyeshadow — today I used one of the blue shades on top of the gray shade from the UD Moodust palette, and the result was absolutely stunning; Givenchy Le Rouge in 302 Hibiscus Exclusif and in 315 Framboise Velours (since I love 209 Rose Perfecto so much — these are equally good); Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush in Radiant Magenta (I like that it has both warm and cool tones in it; it packs quite a punch, I have to apply with a light hand, but then it looks beautiful); a Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow in 25 Ash (I have 15 Blond, and it seems just a little bit too light for me, hopefully Ash won’t be too dark — I may end up combining the two); and I sprung for a second Hourglass Curator lash instrument, so I have one for the primer and one for the mascara, and I don’t have to clean it daily. The system saves me time in several ways: priming my lashes is easier; I don’t have to get out a second mascara for my lower lashes; I can skip the top coat and not get smudging; and my mascara is *much* easier to remove at the end of the day than my usual cocktail of products is. Plus, the results I get feel less stiff and look more natural. Hourglass has the products back in stock; and, in fact, their return policy may be better than Barneys’ — it turns out that Barneys only accepts returns on un-opened, un-used beauty products — they’re like Neiman Marcus rather than like Nordstrom.

Weekend plans: I got talked into signing up for the Nordstrom fall beauty trend show that starts at 8:00 tomorrow morning — ouch! I think it will be fun if only I can get up early enough to actually get there — they have stuff going on starting at 7:00, my appointment at the MAC counter is at 10:00. Otherwise I plan to take it easy this weekend 🙂

Meditation: easier for me to quite my mind by going for a walk, knitting, playing with the tiny hamsters, or playing mindless word games; I need to keep my ADHD occupied somehow, or it just ends up being a struggle, lol.

Fran Avatar

Yes, I emailed Barneys to make sure, and they did reply. Hourglass replied to me email, too. Hooray for customer service! It did take a couple of days to get replies.

I did manage to get up and get to the show, and I did have fun (although I’m still really tired today from lots of running around two days in a row). More stuff for next Friday’s Free-for-Haul 😉 Very fun that I like the MAC pigment on my eyes 🙂 Picked up a couple of perfume samples from Tom Ford; I have a gazillion perfume samples, they come with every order I think, and I never find anything I like. I used to wear Chanel No. 19, but it just doesn’t smell like it did in the 80s. Before that I wore Charlie, but it got feeling a bit young for me, and I’m sure it doesn’t smell like it used to, either. Anyway I found some fragrances at the Tom Ford counter that did smell like perfumes *used* to smell, but couldn’t make up my mind, so talked them into a couple of samples so I can avoid a return. I did like Black Orchid some, but Orchid Soleil was too sweet for me. The samples I got are Vert des Bois and Vert d’Encens; the representatives at the counter thought these would be more similar to the fragrances that I used to wear, and I think they’re right. I’m still not sure, but I’m leaning toward Vert d’Encens. Noir, Noir de Noir and Tobacco Vanille were also interesting, but not quite me. All expensive, though, of course! Although I really think he must be using better ingredients than what’s in a lot of mass-market perfumes these days. I swear perfumes do not smell like they used to. They smell like what the cheap stuff used to smell like, for the most part. Cursed with an old nose!

Tammy Avatar

Looked up those Givenchy lipsticks and they are stunners! Going to try that blue highlighter from Anastasia’s Moonchild on top of that UD Moondust grey at your recommendation.

ShariP Avatar

I missed the last couple hauls so this is pretty big, lol. MAC eyeshadow single in satin taupe, eyeshadow x9 in Smokey Metallic x Nine, Liptensity lipstick in Smoked Almond and Studio Fix foundation in NW13. Tarte Works of Shadow palette. Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Bon Bons palettes. Lancome L’Absolu Rouge lipstick in Rose Crystal and Petite Tresor eyeshadow in Brunswick Glace, Rose Satin, and Hotel Particulier. Makeup Revolution Vivid highlighter in Peach Lights and Radiant Lights. L’Oréal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation in 101 and True Match Lumi highlighter in Rose. Rouge Dior lipstick in Daisy Plum. Master Palette by Mario. UD single eyeshadow in Loaded. Naked lip gloss in Beso, Naked Skin concealer in fair, Naked 2 Basics. Whew!
Plans for the weekend : spend time with hubby. I was out of town last week. Meditation : for me it’s the time to reflect on God’s word, give Him praise, and ask His guidance for every thing else.

ShariP Avatar

This was the first time I’ve tried MAC eyeshadow. They applied like MUFE eyeshadow, but that was the end of the similarities. Eyeshadow, UD, MUFE, L’Oréal, all last for more than 12 hours for me. These barely lasted two hours. I’ll try them again using a primer, which I don’t normally use. So far…not impressed.

Haul: I literally *just* pushed the submit button on a Sephora order for the Touch in Sol Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter eye duo. I have been on a no-buy, but have had these on my wish list for a while. I am heading to Vegas at the end of the month and thought it would make for some very Vegas-appropriate looks. 🙂
Weekend plans: Grading papers! Argh! I am also hoping to make time to go to the movies.
Meditation: I don’t think so, in the traditional sense. I do try to clear my mind and pray before bed. I’m not particularly religious, but I find it soothing to focus on some reasons for gratitude, send any worries out in to the universe, and try to remove mental clutter. Reading that back, it sounds like it might be kind of meditative after all.
