Haul: Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette. Caved. I’m not loving it as much as I thought I would. Quality is fine, pigmentation is lovely as are the colors. I’m watching lots of tutorials on how to use it. I think I’m not getting as much variety as I thought I would because I don’t know how to get out of my comfort zone. I’ll give it some more time, and experiment on the weekends (not work days 🙂 ).
Weekend plans: Spending time with my son and daughter-in-law before they move away again so she can begin her PhD.
How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: Yes, please, x2! Can lose with what I call “egg night.” It’s usually when we don’t have much of anythings else in the house. 🙂

She is going onto to Cornell, 5.5 hours from where we live. Our son will stay another year or so in VT (he works in environmental management at the state house) before he moves to Ithaca, and goes for his masters. (He’s in, and deferring.) They’ll long distance it until then. Not easy, but they’ll work it out and we’ll go visit him and have him come home so he won’t be too lonely.
Kids…whoever said it would be easier as they they older never had ’em. LOL!
Best of luck to her at Cornell and them doing long-distance – not easy but totally doable. 🙂
Haul: My Smith spoolie arrived, it is really really nice. I also finally caved for the Charlotte Tilbury Dreamy Glow highlighter (The one in the LE compact) because they were doing a 40% off sale on the collection and I didn’t think I would ever get that deal again. It’s pretty! More subtle than most of my otter powder hilghlights, but still glowy and lovely.
Weekend plans: its my birthday weekend! We are currently en route to New Glarus, WI for a day trip, to check out the brewery and have lunch. Not sure about tomorrow because it looks stormy ?, but Sunday (my bday) we are brunching at my favorite Spanish restaurant.
How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: Sure, breakfast food is awesome! Plus my husband works two nights per week- if I am having a lazy dinner alone I am not above having cereal for my meal. I’ll occasionally make a bacon+egg sandwich too. Mm…

And while I was inside Sephora JcPenney, I stumbled across a set of Marc Jacobs Highliners in Jazz(berry), Navy Noir, and Overt. It was the last box left, so I pounced on it. Each liner is small, but has almost as much product as the full sized one, so to get 3 for $25 was a steal, and Jazz(berry) was already on my buy list. Guess it must be fate 🙂 But I love the colors, especially the gorgeous Jazz(berry) -thanks for the rec Cat!

*Well, I normally have oatmeal cooked with banana for breakfast, so it’s too light for dinner. But I do love eggs and don’t mind eating them anytime, but I prefer lighter fare at night, so will skip the traditional sausages/bacon/pancakes for dinner

Haul: Andalou “bubble” mask, not much but it caught my eye at whole foods.
Weekend: I just had a painful outpatient procedure, so I’m not feeling the best. Probably staying home for the most part and doing diddly. It’s hot af and I have no AC so it’s gonna be a long and unpleasant weekend.
Breakfast for dinner?: LOVE IT. My favorite now is blueberry pancakes with bacon on the side. I used to eat a lot of eggs before I became allergic to them. I’d make benedicts, scrambles, and frittata all the time!

Haul: My husband and I went to the Illinois Shakespeare Festival last weekend and while we were there, we stopped by a furniture store. I should’ve known better–we ended up buying an entire living room set! (We needed it, we’ve had the same used furniture for almost 20 years.) Wouldn’t you know it, as soon as we got home we discovered our dishwasher was broken, so we are also getting a new dishwasher this week. And we had just replaced out washer two weeks ago, so I guess you could say I am primarily “hauling” house stuff.
But I also picked up a few beauty items as well. I got the Estée Lauder Envy lipsticks in Insolent Plum and Red Ego (slowly building my collection), the Aveeno Positively Bright Make up Wipes recommended by Temptalia reader Jennifer, and the Eucerin Q10 Cream recommended by Temptalia reader Mariella.
This week I also had my first peel. My esthetician recommended dermablading, so I did both. I don’t know if it’s the procedures or Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk foundation, but my skin looks AMAZING?
Weekend: Reading the book I got for my 11 year old granddaughter because it looks good (The Girl Who Drank the Moon.) She just started back to school this week so she probably doesn’t have time to read anyway?
I love breakfast for dinner, it’s the only time I eat breakfast food! Lately I’ve been cooking up a pound of bacon on the weekend so that when I get home from the gym on week nights I can scramble some eggs, make toast, and have dinner in less than 15 minutes.
Big house haul, Tammy! What dishwasher did you guys opt for?
We got a Kitchenaid 46 decibel built-in dishwasher. We got it at Lowes. My husband is happy because it’s a significant step up in quality from our previous dishwasher.
I had to take one of our cats to the vet this morning, making this now the most expensive month of 2016 for us. I actually hope not to have a month this costly for several years ahead.

Weekend plans: I am packaging a suitcase and heading north. No special destination – just north. I have someone staying at my house for me and taking care of my fur babies, a week off of work, and a desire to just go. No clue where I’ll end up. Just ready for an adventure. (Which is why I didn’t want to order items I wouldn’t receive before I left!)

The almond one was nice. The directions are nearly impossible to read on the packet. You have to be sure to get your foot in the fabric lining inside and not just the plastic. Also, the plastic is super slick (depending on your flooring). I slipped a pair of socks over them so I wouldn’t slip on my hardwood. I bought the lavender one too but haven’t tried it yet.

How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: This is the way we should be eating, smaller meal for supper to go into the night. I usually get a omelette if it late at a Dinner and take half home for the next day. 😉
How do you like the lip liners? What are your other favorites for lip liners?
The new Annabelle ones are really nice because they are a wax/gel hybrid easy to apply but sets. 😉
My favourite ones might still be from Urban Decay because they glide on so smooth for me and the Annabelle Stay Sharp. But even in those lines, some shades are less creamy to apply.
At the end of the day all work perfectly as a liner or base it’s just a matter of application preference that makes a small difference.
Ahh, nice! Glad they compare well to UD’s – those are my fave for the same reason. I find that most are fine for just lining the lips, but UD’s are comfortable to apply to fill in, too.
•Haul: I purchased JS Liquid Lipsticks in Celebrity Skin and Androgyny. These better knock my socks off or they are going back.
•Weekend plans: Nothing! Ok, I may touch up the paint on my interior doors and clean the garage but I fully plan on being lazy this weekend because school starts on Tuesday.
•How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: I’m more of a dinner for breakfast person 🙂

I came across the new ByTerry Rouge expert click sticks and bought two in #2 BloomNude and #10 Garnet Glow. They’re a demi-matte, but with incredible hydration. I’m really enjoying them and may need to go back and look at the plums again. I also picked up two Smith & Cult lipglosses, which are some of my favorites. They’re a gloss but feel like a balm; very hydrating. I bought The Wueen is Dead, a fuschia red, and Her Name is Bubbles,a peachy-pink color. My order of the new Tom Ford lip duos (5 colors) arrived at my office yesterday, but I’m on vacation until Wednesday, so I’ll have to wait to play with those very excited though!
Plans – visiting with my in-laws, so I’ll be playing with my nieces.
Breakfast for dinner – sure, it’s fun to do that every once and awhile. Especially since I don’t eat breakfast in general.

They’re .05 oz, so just slightly smaller than the Chanel Le Stylo. I also double checked my shade; I got #1 beige, not #2. The shape is really unique. It’s a teardrop, so it fits the shape of your lips really nicely. They’re also very pigmented, so you don’t need multiple layers to get good coverage. So while they’re smaller, they pack a punch.

My Tom Ford beauty adviser (she’s in Florida, I’m in Illinois and can’t see the products) is sending me pics of the lip duos. I hope you will consider giving your opinion in next week’s Friday Free Haul.
They hadn’t been on my radar until I came across them on the Barney’s site doing my pre-order for Chantecaille, but they definitely catch the eye. Given the color range, if definitely check them out in person if you can. I haven’t had a chance to wear them much this weekend playing with my nieces, but I keep eyeing them. They’ll be on my must wear list when I go back to work. For the Tom Ford lip duos, I’ll definitely post next week what I think of them. There are good swatches on Really Ree if you want to see some while you wait on your Tom Ford rep to send you some. They have the scoop on all the fall Ford releases – new brow gels, liquid highlighters, a foundation-concealer hybrid and there may be another item, but I can’t recall for sure. They always have the earliest look at new Tom Ford before everyone else, so it’s helpful in planning out what to watch for. I’m hoping it’s not bad etiquette to post another blog’s name/info here. No disrespect intended.
The Armani magnet lips (liquid lipstick) is the last item I’m waiting to see drop outside of holiday releases. I have my eye on some colors already, but info and swatches are limited right now and mostly in Chinese.

Haul: Only a Lorac eyeliner (in bronze; exactly the medium, warm and sparkly neutral I was in search of; am happy with it so for). Looked a lot: swatched UD sharp eyeliner in Fireball (am on the fence); looked for Buxom Twilight Tryst and new Buxom lip crayons but they’re not in stores. All in all, pretty minimal as I only just paid the credit card bill for my shopping trip of two weeks back.
Weekend plans: The usual — pilates, errands, etc.; and, picking up a couple of needs for upcoming long business trip to Europe.
Breakfast for dinner: Absolutely; I do egg sandwiches or omelets for dinner about every week or so.

Haul: Too Faced Hangover RX Primer should be on its way to me! I’m excited because my skin has been a dry mess lately and moisturiser before makeup just isn’t working. Also got LC Faded, which is such a beautiful mauve. I’m so happy whenever I wear it, even though it leans slightly cool, which doesn’t really sing against my warm leaning neutral skintone.
Weekend plans: We’re going to a buffet! My dad realised his voucher for it was expiring so we’re going on Sat night. It’ll be great, they have mentaiko crayfish and all sorts of japanese and western food.
Breakfast for dinner: As long as it’s not cornflakes, nothing but love from me!

Weekend: beaching it on the Cape with the fam. I’m announcing my pregnancy this weekend, too, mostly because I’m already showing so much I can’t really hide it. This is my first baby!
Backwards Dinner: YES! Just this past week I’ve been really averse to meat, so we had pancakes for dinner. Yum!
Also, totally an aside, but I was listening to a great episode on On Point, my favorite show on NPR all about cosmetics and safety and FDA regulation. There’s some interesting legislation up for debate. This got me thinking- would you ever consider reviewing smaller, more transparent/natural American cosmetic brands beyond Bite? What are your thoughts about this, Christine? I really recommend listening to this very thoughtful report.

I review products based on a lot of factors, largely opting for what readers are interested in seeing, but this blog features all types of brands. I don’t focus on “natural” nor do I not review because it is touted as “natural” – it is a nonconsideration at this time 🙂
Gotcha. I’m honestly curious auto how well they hold up compared to other brands. I usually read reviews before I buy anything. It seems like good reviews on these smaller brands are impossible to find.

Haul: I bought three single eyeshadows in Walnut, Chestnut and Bordeaux from Jouer. They recently had a 40% off sale and I was so interested, but I’ve never tried their eyeshadows before and didn’t want to regret a purchase-the ones I bought are in their final farewell section for 50% off, so I figured it was a safer bet and I’ll know better for next time. From Ulta I bought The Body Shop Aloe Calming Kit (thanks for the recommendation Katherine T.!) as well as the Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set and the Sculpting Brush Set. I think that’s it. I haven’t received either yet-I get the Jouer one tomorrow and my Ulta order just shipped today.
Weekend plans: No clue. Grocery shopping at least.

Haul: Placed a Paula’s Choice order. Got the new niacinamide booster, whoop! Cannot wait to pick it up when I’m in Belgium next week.
Weekend plans: Hopefully climb another mountain. Got my sights set on a new challenge. But the weather looks kinda iffy, so we’ll have to wait and keep our fingers crossed it stays dry.
How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: I prefer a hot dinner, but I don’t exactly mind breakfast for dinner either. I often have two breakfasts a day anyway (breakfast + lunch) so yeah, I’m a breakfast fan 🙂
What kind of climbing do you do?
It’s mostly mountain hiking, really, but depending on the mountain/trail it can involve some climbing as well. I just call it climbing because these days people tend to call a 30-minute walk in their backyard a hike 🙂
Haul: I placed a Sephora order with Nars Pygar eyeshadow and UD Vice lipstick in Hitch Hike, that should arrive next week. Also, Ulta sent me the wrong Lancome x Sonia Rykiel fall palette (I ordered the one with blue tones and got the rosy one instead), so I’ve struggled all week to have them send me the right one. It’s been a ridiculous back and forth where they assured me they were sending it (it’s not in Ulta stores near me), only to tell me a couple days ago they were refunding me instead after I threatened to block the charge on my credit card if they weren’t overnighting it asap. The way they handled this issue was a DISASTER. And it’s the second order in a row where they send me an item in the wrong shade – but last time it was NYX so an easy fix in store. Anyways I grabbed that blue-toned palette at Macy’s last night, and now I have both! I also got the taupe nail lacquer in the collection, Café Philo.
Weekend plans: games with friends, and hopefully the beach.

Their customer service was such a let down, they were really not helpful and not following up on this issue – quite upsetting when it’s about a $60 item. They didn’t even reply to my emails unless I tagged them on Twitter! Once they told me they were sending the correct palette I asked several questions, and in their answer they only replied to one… So disappointing. I don’t think I’m going to order from Ulta’s website again anytime soon 🙁

Are you going to be reviewing the Lancome palette and/or nail polish on your blog? I’ve been holding myself back from buying anything from that release for weeks (especially the palettes), just because I’m not sure if it’ll really add anything unique to my collection. I can’t even find any reviews on it to see either way.
Hi Nicole, yes I will be reviewing the palettes next Friday! I’m not sure I’ll have time to use the nail lacquer by then, but I’ll swatch it at least. From what I’ve read so far in French blogs, the shadows in the palettes are not super pigmented… we’ll see, I’m going to use one today for the first time!

Weekend plans: Other than hair, nails and Sunday meeting; RELAX!!! While last weekend built me up spiritually and emotionally, getting up at 4 a.m. , and due to nerves, waking up on Saturday at 1:45 a.m. and not being able to fall back to sleep, left me physically drained!
Breakfast for dinner: Oh YES!!! I don’t do it often, but it is so satisfying when I do! A favorite is my french fries, cheddar, egg scramble. Add some chives, salt & pepper, perhaps glazed peppers and onions, too. Or blueberry pancakes (GF) for a super special treat! ?

It is! I must have been on a neon kick this past week, Pinkerbell is super vivid, too! The nights seem less brutal and oppressive, for sure. Last night’s storm left us with just 101° today. Not bad!
Aw, breakfast for me is usually a slice of toasted sour dough bread (from the bakery I work parttime) dipped in good olive oil with salt, or a banana. So that wouldn’t be enough for dinner. Although this bread and salted oil combination I can eat at any time of the day!
No new beauty goodies for me, but I’ve got enough to play with for the time being. 🙂 I love my Nude Blush eye palette from Burberry, with a primer under it it perfoms really nice.
Weekend plans: I need to do some work and clean the house. If I feel ok I will meet a friend at an exposition, but most likely that would be a bit too much for the heavy head I still have to deal with. So, easy, easy…

You’d be surprised! Back in high school, I took a job at a Mrs. Fields cookie store, and we got to take home any leftover cookies/brownies that weren’t sold. You would think I would be a blimp by the time 3 months passed, but I actually lost weight! Between scooping tray after tray of hard frozen cookie dough all day long (I swear my right arm became bigger than my left one), pulling hot trays out of the ovens, running around serving customers, restocking displays, lifting tubs of dough, etc etc it was pretty crazy, and I was working at 2 stores, sometimes back-to- back shifts, would have to jump on the bus and race across town to next store b/c I couldn’t drive. And after 1 week of stuffing myself silly with cookies and smelling them all the time, I lost my appetite for them, at least until I left the job! And my family was begging me not to bring anymore home, b/c they were sick of them too. So much for the free cookies LOL But it was fun, because I was young and working with my BFF too, but the job is not for couch potatoes
Haul: My Selfridge’s order arrived this week. SUQQU face brush (finally!), SUQQU shadow palette #3, and Zelens Youth Concentrate Serum which is so darn expensive here in the U.S. I wanted the Chanel CC Cream SPF 50 in shade #1 which isn’t available here, but they wouldn’t ship it to the U.S. for some reason.
Haul: Viseart Neutral Matte palette, Viseart Dark Matte palette, 28 Hot Pot palette (from the Hot Pot Sale) from Coastal Scents!
Weekend plans: Rest a lot and try to get over this cold I’ve had all week!
How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: I have mad love for breakfast at any time. That’s why I love American diners that serve breakfast all day 😛 Having french toast and bacon at 8pm always feels so right.

Weekend Plans: there is supposed to be another power outage tomorrow from 8-5 pm, but we will wait and see if it happens as the last one was cancelled. If it is going ahead we will probably go for a long drive down to a coastal town. Today, Olivia and Little Pud (aka Lachlan who is 6 months old and a joy) are coming to visit.

I think my comment disappeared, fine. Viseart came. Def yes, but kind of sparkly in what I thought might be satin, meaning referring to finish, not dress material. Muse was wonderful about the iPad order inability. Replying to their email is off too….all one big line marching right. They actually care about it and want IT to function better with all platforms. Not my previous experience. Grossly ssdd/ssdw, ocean, hospital visit, night job. Breakfast: whenever. But, to be honest, am more likely to have small dinner @ breakfast. Used to be 2 days that I was home for only a tiny tad bet 8A &11P. So start dinner @ 6 A, if you want it at all..

I could wear that or Kale but would look like a fool in Kelly green or pale white/green. Does her jewelry use nickel or similar metals? I like the designs, but I’m really sensitive to anything that isn’t silver or gold. (Isn’t my wallet lucky?)

Weekend plans: I’m working for most of it, but I now have required plans to replace my phone since it bricked about twenty minutes ago when it hit the floor. (It’s even in an Otter Box!)
How do you feel about breakfast for dinner?: Not a big fan. I’m very pedantic about keeping certain kinds of food within their daily meal category, which I suspect is because I work night shifts and doing helps me maintain some sense of circadian rhythm.
I believe she primarily uses sterling silver or gold-filled chain – but I know I’m working with her on a custom order that is using brass/antique chain.

I stopped in a Cosmetics Company Store to see if they had any Bobbi Brown lipsticks that I’d like and found that they had started carrying Tom Ford. Oops. I decided to get the quad in Last Dance, blush in Wicked, lipsticks in Negligee and Rose Soleil and a nail polish in Brown Sugar. That will do me for a while :/.
Weekend plans include cleaning up outside after the massive rains and storms we have had this past week. Lots of SPF and insect repellent is in store but hopefully one night out so I can try out my new things.
