Haul: I finally came into some dough! I did a ColourPop order: Boy Band, La-La, Coconut, and Fantasy shadows, Tulle liquid lipstick, and Oh Snap lipstick and lip liner. I also did a MAC order: the Sculpt and Shape powder (Bone Beige/Emphasize), Soar lip liner (a lot of people don’t like MAC lip liners, but it’s one of the creamier ones of MAC lip liners, and I prefer a stiffer lip liner anyway), and the new Viva Glam Miley lipstick (Miley’s quite problematic, but it’s an amazing charity and a beautiful color so it’s pretty guilt free for me).
Weekend plans: My dad’s coming out to visit tomorrow. We’re going to go out for lunch to celebrate his birthday. I got him a new watch as a gift, since he’s a bit of a collector! I was also sick this week, so I majorly slacked on schoolwork and need to catch up.
Favorite fall TV show: Criminal Minds season 11 premieres next week! I’m so excited! My friends and I are planning to Skype each week while we watch, so it’s like we’re in the same room together.

Haul: Holiday stuff here too.( apologies if the names are not correct) I got the Marc Jacobs 20 con palette, The BITE beauty remix and the larger BITE set, Lorac lipstick set, 2 Clarisonic brush heads and all of the Bareminerals Round the Clock liners (Ulta beauty specials!),and 2 Nails Inc. gel effect polishes.
Weekend plans: Soccer game and errands and a date(!) Sat. Cleaning and packing for a little trip to Columbus next week to see if I am needing another surgery(ugh).
Favorite Fall T.V. show: Honestly, I don’t watch much T.V. My daughter gets the television around here. We like to watch “Girl meets World” and “Dog with a Blog” on Disney :).One day, when I am old, I’ll maybe watch some T.V ..or go surfing. 😀

Funny you mention the Bite set. The little one is cute. But, I am a little less impressed with the Bite Discovery set for the price personally.
Another surgery? Oh no, I hope not, Nicole!
Hi Nancy, It’s a consult for a possible surgery. Basically, I will have to decide if I want to got thru another surgery and have a device implanted in my brain or be on my medicine for the rest of my life. The bend that comes with the medicine is I have significant reduction in my kidney function already from a medicine the first doctor I was seeing treating me with ( Indomethacin) for a year or so. So, being 39, taking high doses of the meds I am on daily , I basically I have to consider another surgery now or risking kidney failure later. I’m doing well now, so it’s a had one. Thanks for your concern. Your so sweet. 🙂
When I read it, it just really came as a shock because I, and probably all of us, had so hoped and prayed that the first surgery was going to work, and then thought it actually did indeed cure the ATN. But didn’t realize there would also be lifelong maintenance meds with very toxic effects! In that case, this possible future surgery makes perfect sense.
Yes,Its a lot of pros and cons weighing. I had a nerve stimulator, which is the same surgery. I had a lot of problems the whole time I had it. My surgical incision basically never closed entirely and eventually the infection spread into my head and it had to be pulled in an emergency situation. It was scary! Such a mess. During that recovery is when I found Temptalia. But, supposedly this surgeon is an “expert”. Idk, I’ll have to think about it. Not rushing into it either way.I wish the surgery 100% cured me. But, it did not. It helped at least 85% though and for that I am utterly grateful. Now, with meds, I can feel good most the time.Not awful all the time.
That is truly a terrifying experience! And emergency surgeries are just the worst, particularly whenever there’s sepsis because they have to carefully lavage the area, and usually leave AB’s inside, or at least that’s what they did when my intestine perforated, not 100% sure that this is standard procedure for all infections or not. I definitely understand your not rushing into it, I wouldn’t either!
Nancy, nope they just removed the foreign body which had caused the infection and I spent too long on antibiotics.

Haul: Sephora: Bite Beauty Discovery Set (I can’t express how much I love this set – every piece, except the mirror which I now have 3 of, is a winner!), JINSoon polish trio, Kate Somerville Hydrating Acne Gel, bunches of the deluxe sample of the Beauty Blender cleanser; Ulta: Too Faced Primed and Poreless primer, several Real Techniques brushes (sale!); Saks: Trish McEvoy Vitamin C Cream (with a special 20% off promo). Sadly, I am waiting to place more orders on Sephora, esp. since I received in stock notifications. BUT they have asked me to hold off on placing more orders since as of 7/1, they have overcharged me on tax and now owe me about $15. The Municipality near where I live added an additional 1% tax but I live in the County so the tax does not apply to my orders. Sephora, mistakenly has been charging everyone the additional tax. So, I’m now 3 business days in waiting for my refund and the “all clear” to place more orders. Grrrrrr!
Weekend plans: Weekend mani – most likely JINSoon Tea Rose since it will be warm here and I think I can get away with the shade. I might try to get to Old Navy as I saw on a blog they now have some amazing hats, scarves, booties, and ponchos. I’m thinking about hitting the mall to check them out. There’s also a Harvest Festival at my local farm market so I might go there and pick up some Fall decor and listen to the bands.

Haul: MAC Superwatt, pro palette and insert; Anastasia Brow Wiz in Ebony, Kat von D Tattoo liner in Trooper, Buxom waterproof mascara. And I received my first order from Colour Pop today. I only ordered a few things to try out the formula, in case I didn’t like it: LaLa eyeshadow, Between the Sheets blush, and Ultra Matte Lipcolour in Tulle. I did some quick swatches and so far I’m impressed! Will definitely be ordering some more things in the future.

Last night my package from sephora, i got the hourglass mood exposure blush and the philosophy all in one cleanser, i got a sample of thisa few days ago so i tried it and loved it so i decided to buy it, and i love mood exposure so much, i know some people complained about the blushes not being glowy enough but for me its perfect, its like a satin finish and adds a beautiful rosy tan color

Haul: quite a few things this week actually! ck One brow duo and Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera (both were Beauty Steals at Ulta this week), China Glaze Sleeping Under the Stars nail polish, UD Primer Potion in Eden ($10 at Nordstrom Rack for the old-style tube), a new Dior Addict lipstick (Fashion Night) and the cream blush stick part of Dior’s fall collection in Rosewood! I hadn’t bought so much stuff in a while…

How do you like the blush stick from Dior?
I’ve tried today for the first time and really liked it! It’s really intensely pigmented and the texture is a cream-to-powder type that blends very well.
Haul: It was supposed to be nothing, but then TheBalm had to show up on Hautelook this morning for 50% off, so I finally bought Mary-Lou Manizer and Cindy-Lou Manizer.
Weekend plans: I can’t personally go to IKEA (too long a drive, all the walking will be no bueno for me), but my dad is going to go pick up and put together a bedside table so I’ll have a bit more storage and another surface to put stuff on as right now my bedside table on one side is a kitchen stool…
What’s your favorite fall TV show?: Ohhhh that is tough. I would usually go for a scifi show, but right now my #1 is Madam Secretary (for those of you that liked the West Wing, check it out!) as a good all-rounder with a bit of politics. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is good for comedy that’s avoids a lot of the sexist and racist tropes most American sitcoms tend to go for. Jane the Virgin is surprisingly funny and it is nice to see a show not completely populated by white people (Gina Rodriguez is totally my WCW). How To Get Away With Murder is intense but fantastic if you’re in the right mood for it. Elementary is fantastic and I like that it angers racists/sexists because Joan is such a kickass character. iZombie is a twist on the crime genre and really funny at times. The 100 comes out midseason so technically not a fall show, but I love how almost all the leaders are women and most of them are women of color. Fresh off the Boat is problematic in some ways but it’s the first Asian-American-centric show in about 25 years so props to that. That’s waaaay too many TV shows but when you’re kind of stuck at home a lot and are also very into various forms of media (a lot of my friends are production designers, makeup artists, gaffers, etc) it’s good to keep appraised of what’s out there that isn’t the usual drivel.

It is. I’ve been holding off on getting them because I’m not a huge fan of TheBalms aesthetic (I’m a bit too OCD for all the uneven lines and such) but 50% was kind of like a “do eeettt!” moment for me.
My dad is pretty amazing. As I’m basically unable to live independently he’s taken over soooo much and is taking me to appointments and helping with cooking and cleaning and all of that stuff without so much as a complaint. I finally see a neurosurgeon in late October so hopefully I’ll be heading towards getting better and to a place where I can pay him back for everything he’s done for me.
Excellent! I think I unsubscribed them, but got the 3 plum blushes + Toile last fall @ 50%. A steal! The Balm isn’t best all-around, but they have some awesome cheek products. Good score!

Yes I love 90s inspired shades! Though I’m quite literally a 90s baby (born 97…), so I can’t really relate to CP’s shade names for the fall collection! I had to google beeper earlier today haha.
Haul: I ordered the MAC X Guo Pei Night Sky eyeshadow quad , and using my Sephora 10% off vib I brought the Kat Von D Shade + Light eye palette and Urban Decay’s Spectrum palette. A couple Clarisonic sensitive brush replacement heads.
Weekend plans: Restaurant with my sweetie on Saturday. Getting rid of some clothes in my closet. A trip to Barnes and Noble with my daughter since they have a double discount 20% for members this weekend.
Favorite Fall TV show: I”m looking forward to the new Walking Dead season, I want to check out the new shows Scream Queens and Containment

Haul: Natio’s Sunkissed blush palette – an Australian owned brand that is cruelty free and has the best bath and body products around. Their cosmetic range is continually improving.
Weekend plans: For the first time in ages it is sunny here in Melbourne. So the family are heading out for an early BBQ at a large park so that Olivia (our darling granddaughter) can play on the play equipment.
Favourite TV show: Love the British Crime Shows: Vera is currently showing and I love that one.
Haul: Hahahaha, yeah. There was a haul that was about to happen, and then everything went sideways. Got everything all together, went on Sephora site to finally get my UD Spectrum Palette, but due to a bug in their system, it wouldn’t recognize me as VIB, so I emailed Sephora, they finally got it fixed, went to pay for it, and *POOF*, it vanished from my cart! Called them, they apologized, but it was no longer in stock and they didn’t know if they’re getting more or not, told me to call UD, I did, and no answers. So I’m feeling really bummed! I was so looking forward to getting that!?
Weekend plans: Just my usual routine, I guess.

Fave fall show: We’re watching series 1 of Gotham on Netflix, normal TV is rather boring at the moment but I have a weakness for First Dates, it’s so fascinating how other people talk to each other on a first date! Later on in the season I’ll watch Strictly Come Dancing, I don’t like it when there are so many people competing at the start, I prefer it when it’s been whittled down a bit. I’m watching The Great British Bake-off too.

Ulta came: I was good. 2 clarisonic brush heads @ 50% + the UD fall liner set. Prob is, the pink eye is coming back, so I can only hand gel my arm to swatch + not really use them! I’m going to be super pissed, if the MJ shadows come while my eyes are off. Also picked up a second MJ for an old BFF…whom I never see. I still have a Monarch for her, from right after you reviewed it! At least I know they can’t have screwed with the quality. Looks as if Vice 4 won’t get my love…too much splurge already. And the Blossom (Bite) set for points.
Work night job, read, take Jussi to the park, maybe check the water for the last time this season, then put the bathing suits away. Boo!
TV: I watch Investigation Discovery a lot; I think my favorite broadcast tv is Empire. It’s kind of a hip hop King Lear. And WHO KNEW Taraji could do THAT in those shoes? Remember, I’m an old boring WASP broad. My young coworkers are real surprised I like it, esp. since I listen to classical music + know zero about that music scene.

Weekend plans: for my (32nd! eeek) birthday this weekend I’m going to see “The Book of Mormon” (a parody musical by the creators of Southpark) at the Smith Center here in Vegas with my husband, brother and his GF! I was brought up Mormon, and dropped out of the church at 14 (family followed suit! lol) So this should be pretty awesomely hilarious, been wanting to see it for years! Also, going to see Eli Roth’s new movie – “The Green Inferno”! So excited!!!
