Haul: Tarina Tarantino’s Dreamy palette (blame Christine!) which I think is one of my best purchases in months; MAC Sweet Satisfaction Pro Longwear eyeshadow; Hourglass Mineral Veil primer (loving this) and I think I forgot to list my purchase (finally found it) of Shu Uemera’s lash curler, which I actually got LAST week but may have forgot to mention since I’m sort of underwhelmed.
Weekend plans: since it’s a PD day, my “weekend” starts today and all I’ve got planned is the gym and purging closets (we had the laundry room and 2 closets ripped apart for new flooring and putting things back is a great opportunity to get rid of stuff)
Best way to keep warm: Fleece sheets, silk undies (take it from me, doing recess duty in a Canadian winter, you learn this stuff) and a good sheepskin coat!

What lash curler were you using prior to shu?
I wasn’t using an eyelash curler and the conventional wisdom seems to be that I was missing out on a vital step but, to be honest, I don’t see any real difference after I have used it than when I don’t use it at all and no one has even commented that I look brighter or more wide awake or anything at all and I can’t see any change.
Haul: Nothing! All my spare cash is tied up with other stuff, like Christmas, Winter tires, etc.
Weekend plans: Taking it easy. Work has been kicking me in the butt. I’m going to make a baked brie, with this Bacon Marmalade (yes, bacon!) I picked up. Just gotta have some people over to share with me, as the hubby doesn’t like brie.
Best way to stay warm in the winter: On the sofa with a Fuzzy Blanket, with fuzzy kitties on top, and a fuzzy hubby next to me!

Best way to stay warm in the winter: Snuggled under a blanket with the one you love stroking your head while you both watch tv. 😀

Mellan looks kinda sad.I saw a badly hurt dog in our campus yesterday.I was not able to take him to a vet even though I wanted to.I got some doggie medicine instead,also food and a toy bone.it really makes me sad to see animals in such condition:(

Best way to stay warm in the winter: Bundled up in thick sweaters, socks, and pants. And live cat foot warmers. 🙂
What are you cooking?
Spinach pakoras! 1 cup of chickpea flour, 1 tsp of ground coriander, chili powder, and mango powder (amchoor), and 1/2 tsp of salt. Mix in water and chopped spinach & onion until you get a slightly thick pancake-consistency batter. Drop spoonfuls into hot oil and cook until brown.
Mmm, yum!!

Best way to stay warm: Layer like crazy – my friends used to make fun of me when I would wear 3 layers of clothing under my coat but in the brutal New England winter, I find it better to have too many clothes on than too little!

Staying warm in winter: I love being in my sweats, turtleneck and fuzzy socks under a warm blanket watching movies with a mug of hot tea (Earl Grey decaf with milk).

This haul is a bit cumulative… I kept forgetting to comment! From MAC, I ordered the two Glitter and Ice beauty powders (nice enough, I guess) and from Nordstrom, I ordered Armani Eyes To Kill in #8 and Guerlain Parure du Nuit. (I LOVE both of them! So pretty!) My Sephora VIB order arrived yesterday… with tons of pretty stuff! Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Dollface, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Baked, Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, (is it weird that the little tube in my True Blood palette is better?) Too Faced Sweet Dreams palette, Bobbi Brown Party Shimmer Brick, Givenchy Magic Lip and Cheek Balm, Guerlain Terracotta in 00 and a bottle of Benefit Maybe Baby. Whew!
Plans are to play with all my new stuff! And finish revisions on Chapters 12-14.

Thank you for that. 🙂 I’m in love with Mellan, and I’m now trying to convince my husband that I’m ready for another dog, having loss my beloved Yorkie after 16 precious years.

Best way to stay warm in the winter: Easy chair with a heated polartec throw, a cup of William Sonoma hot cocoa with hand crafted CHOCOLATE marshmallows & a shot of Rumplemintz. Flannel sheets, flannel PJs & cozy socks are a must too.

From Sephora, I hauled TheBalm Frat Boy, Tokidoki Rollerball Set and a Tweezerman Harajuku Lovers mini slant tweezer. I also got the MAC teddy bear tree ornament and it’s so adorable in the packaging that I don’t even want to take it out. I love that all of the proceeds go to their Viva Glam charity.

My small yearly LUSH run cus it’s 2 hours away actually I had to go on business 🙂 about 3 bath bombs and 2 bubble bars; I’d take a ton more baths but I’m so inpatient/bored in there lol

I want to see the shadows but they didn’t have them in stock yet so I haven’t seen them. The packaging this time around actually looks kinda cool but I have other things I’d rather spend my money on. (Saving for a new camera… I’m looking at the Sony NEX-VG20 which isn’t quite available yet but I’m hoping I can grab one by the first of the year or so!) Did you get the collection??
I bought everything but the 2 eyeshadows (they didn’t have them) and beauty powder, because I thought it was just the pressed powder they normally come out with.

Haul: Chanel Dragon – it’s been on my list for ages so I had to pick it up when I heard it was being discontinued! I also ordered a blush palette from MAC, eyeshadows in Mystery and Kid, and a back-up of Soft Sable lipstick (from the MAC Glitter & Ice collection) because I adore it. Also ordered a few things from blog sales.
Weekend: partying tomorrow night, trying to start my Christmas shopping, housework and playing Skyrim!
Staying warm: a roaring fire in the living room!
Oh – and I will definitely try to visit the German Christmas Market for some mulled wine!

Best way to stay warm in the winter: Since it is getting colder, I wear my pashmina scarf, gloves and uggs ear protector every day. Apart from that I drink warm tea or ginger water and cook with chilli.
How do you like remover wipes?
I haven’t tried the vipes yet, because I want to take them to New York with me.
I tried nail polish remover vipes from a different brand about 10 oder 12 years ago and I was not happy with the result. It took too much effort to remove the polish. I needed two or three of these pads, instead of one.
I am really hoping that these vipes do a better job, but I am sceptical, because they are acetone free. Normally I use a remover with acetone.
I blame Christine for hooking me up with Guerlain’s make-up. I went to their warehouse sale yesterday, lining-up for 3 freaking long (and cold) hours and in the end blew half of my salary away with a huge haul. All I got are stuff from their past collections but nonetheless they are my precious baby as I started building up my make-up staple.
What I brought home:
3 rouge G in Gardenia, Giulette, Fuchsia Delice
2 brushes similar to 187 and 168
2 compacts in Les Voillettes and Terracotta and 1 refill of Parue Extreme (I took by mistake)
1 Meteorite in Perles D’or
1 liquid eyeliner in Metallic D’or
4 lip laques and glosses from KissKiss line + 1 from Terracotta
2 perfumes
Seriously, I would bring the whole warehouse home if I could. The items are decently priced, comparable with MAC in US but cheaper by ounce and quality. It’s not expected to see creme of the crop there but I did have a blast of shopping experience. Every time I found an item familiar I thought: “Oh my, I read about this on Temptalia. What was Christine’s verdict again?” (lol)
Weekend plan: Study for my finals
Best place to keep warm: cuddle in my blanket with my cat sits on top.
LOL! Umm, I didn’t even KNOW they had a warehouse sale so you have to tell me what kind of discount was it? I AM JEALOUS.
It’s like up to 70% off, held by Guerlain Canada in Montreal. But some were really a steal. From what I have: brushes are $22 CAD ea (retail $46-56); rouge Gs $22 (retail $50, urgh…); Kiss Kiss lippies and glosses are 4 for $30, otherwise $10 ea; the compacts $22 (retail varies, I didn’t check…); meteorite boxes $22 (mostly cardboard types, retail $57); meteorite pressed powder compacts are $59 (retail $180-ish, lol, I didn’t even dare to touch)and they did sell various color and refills. All kinds of blush eclat for $15, same for eyeliner, only 1 gold color. Le 2 mascara and single eye shadows are probably under $22. As for limited edition, I saw Volga princess and Tsarina palette, powder from d’Or and Butterfly collection. They also have foundations from the discontinued Divinora line and a lot of current skincare line. The most requested items were probably black mascara and eyeliner followed by the 4-for-$30 lippie deal. From what I’ve heard, they didn’t put many perfume on sale this time, only a couple of Shalimar editions, Insolence, Shalimar and Idylle gift sets and Aqua Allegoria ranging from $19-$35 and $49 for concentrated.
