Essie Summer 2010

Essie Summer 2010 Collection

Summer is special. Aside from the wonderful outdoor activities that we wait for all year, we also revel in the opportunity to now wear lighter, brighter and more playful clothing. Finally, we can shed the wool and mohair for cotton and linen. The keyword for summer is: fun! So indulge in seriously sensational color! Don’t be shy — make it the time to play with bold, playful color combinations.

“This year’s runways reflected the ease of the season with youthful, upbeat clothing in feminine fabrics,” explains Essie Weingarten, President and Founder of Essie Cosmetics, Ltd. “I was inspired by the vivid pastels at Versace and the splashy fl orals at DKNY. I created this collection to reflect the youthful, fun-to-wear flirty frocks.” The summer fashion trend is all about mixing and matching, and the summer color palette allows for the same fun and freedom. Choose Miss Matched for fingers and Pretty Edgy for toes, or whatever you fancy – since there is no more matchy-matchy!

Although two of these colors are absolutely gorgeous, I won’t be purchasing. Every Essie polish that I’ve bought has required 3 or more coats to even look semi-decent and after their Spring collection, and how streaky those polishes were on my nails, I’ve given up on Essie.

Kind of… boring, no? Nothing surprising (I like the green though). I’m really hating the formula lately :/ Can’t get it to go on streakless!

I thought that I’d be over buying Green because I love my Jade is the New Black shade but that’s an awesome green that I may need to acquire!

I’m so tempted to pick up Haute as Hello, as well as a couple shades from the Resort collection… however, I just splurged on some Zoya polish, some new brushes, and with MAC to the Beach about to release… yeah. I think I need to resist the temptation, at least for a little while.

I love the green! I have some application trouble with the Essie spring colors I have, but the no-chipping makes up for it. Will definitely pick a few of these up.

I don’t know if I like it or not….I have seen these colors a million times, don’t look original to me…. I think I prefer to make the splurge in China Glaze’s Vintage Collection and maybe get some Orly….

I am glad you posted, I feel informed….Thanks ^_^

Haute as Hello looks so pretty. I’m also looking at Demure Vixen. It doesn’t really seem very summery, but I love colors like that, so I’ll get it anyway. I wonder if there will be a mini set and which of the colors will be in it. I bought the mini set of all 4 spring colors, and I’m loving each of them.
