Definitely not! I’m pretty boring but I usually like bold perfumes.

Christine, Your answer is from the previous question about how frequently you wash your brushes. Some mistake here.
My perfume doesn’t reflect my personality, I switch between so many perfumes. Mostly floral and not too strong
Sorry! Forgot to change my answer! I fixed it now. Boy, I’m an idiot!
No you’re not. And I think all us Temptalia readers can agree you’re not boring! Not to us at least! 😀
I really don’t mean it in a bad way – I live a very simple life and that’s exactly the way I like it, honestly! 🙂
Ditto 🙂
Oh I just love how perfectly you put that, Christine; I’m on the same boat here – a quiet, happy, simple life. <3
You are not!
I haven’t given that deep a thought to my perfumes.. but I do firmly believe in having a signature scent! I would love it if people are reminded of my when they smell a specific perfume or a mix of it! 🙂
I suppose it does in a way, because obviously I like it, but I have several different perfumes I like almost equally and I’m not sure if one of them is more ‘me’ than another. I like vetiver heavy perfume the most so maybe I’m cool and smokey?
Maybe if I ever bought perfume. It’s not that I don’t want it, it’s just that I never want to spend my makeup money on perfume!
It’s impossible to find one that reflects it because I’m so confusing and confused. I love the lil perfume my beloved boyfriend gave to me, HD With Love 😀 it has a lovely smell and it’s cute and from Vlad <3
My perfume is more likely to express how I’m feeling rather than my personality. Fun, flirty, sexy, etc.
i feel this way too. some days i feel more fun or upbeat and ill choose something citrusy (like clinique happy or escada magnetism – i think thats the name)… if im feeling strong i might wear bleu or antaeus by chanel (yes both are for men but i rock em anyway), or addict by dior. i always like kenneth cole black too. and aguolina (sp?) pink sugar, which smells divine layered with addict.
Think the answer is still for the brush cleaning question 🙂
I’m not sure if my perfume reflects my personality, i just go with what smells good to me!
Yes and no. Many people have said that it fits my personality, but only once you got to know me better! Otherwise, not at all. I’m pretty imposing and intimidating, so I can somehow see how my love for gourmand scents would appear weird to those who hasn’t seen my sweeter side, lol. 😉
Yes, it does for me. My perfumes are always sultry, smokey, floral, and archaic – pretty much me in a nutshell.
Yes….all four of them
I would have to say yes it does for me only because I don’t wear any perfume. This matches my personality leans toward understated simplicity. If I was to wear something it would probably have a “fruity” scent. This aptly describes the very quirky side to my personality, lol.
I have a signature scent, but I’ve never understood how a scent can have or reflect a specific personality.
I don’t set out to pick a fragrance to fit my personality but over time it is evident that that is what actually happens. Now and then I’ll revisit a favorite scent from the past and wonder what I saw in it. The scent hasn’t changed (unless it has been reformulated) so that must mean that I have. We mature, our situation in life changes, we grow and develop, we become more experienced, etc. Is it any wonder, then, that our preferred scents would change? So, whether we do it consciously or not, if we are buying a fragrance because we genuinely like it and not because it is a hyped-up trend, we will end up purchasing perfumes that reflect our personality.
I honestly don’t know. I think my perfumes tend to be slightly warm florals with a powdery sweetness, whereas my personality, I’m more of a serious person.
I switch perfumes based on weather/season and activity. But I do think it reflects my personality as much as an outfit would. And, for me, a lot of thought usually goes into purchasing a fragrance, at least the ones I absolutely love. So, it should reflect me in some way.
This would be such a fun experiment – have a stranger smell all of your perfumes and try to describe you 🙂
…probably. I wear a lot of old-lady perfumes. 😛
I was going to say “I hope not” for the same reason! I like the little old lady scents too
<3 Old lady perfumes!
I had a signature scent and I wore it for many years and I do indeed think it reflected my personality when I was a young woman. Then, it was reformulated, and reformulated yet again….and I dumped it for some perfume mania. I collect and try out and investigate. I love exploring indie perfumes and straying way out of my comfort zone now. I am just having fun with scent, so, no, the scent I might be wearing on any given day most likely has no connection to my personality. I just enjoy trying new things and smelling a bit different from day to day.
I find it almost impossible to find scents I like, so I just stick with one, Penhaligons Artemesia. Not sure it reflects my personality though!
On Facebook Fragrant Friends we went through a whole series where folks posted pictures of themselves (I think…) and we all tried to suggest perfumes we imagine that person wearing. It was a lot of fun, and everyone got some good suggestions.
Not really, unless liking and being interested in many “different” things at the same time is considered a personality trait. I like fresh, simple, citrussy uncomplicated scents like Dior’s Escale a Portofino, or Light Blue DG in the morning.but at the same time I am using figgy almost masculine aromas like the Fico di Amalfi( I even spray a Fig room odorizer by Marks & Spencers on me…) For night or special occasions I loooooove Jo Malone’s Dark Amber.. Lily one. Shame doesn’t last on me. During winter I have been “sniffing” lots of the new OUD ones that everyone has been launching too but I cannot bear them now is getting warmer.
I grew up with the idea of having a signature scent, like the ballerinas. But now I have a wardrobe of fragrances for the many facets of personality. There are so many great fragrances to love, especially if you include niche and indie, and disregarding the worthless reformulations of the classics — how can a person restrict themselves to just one?
for sure:)
agent provocateur original:)
so funny, that several of my online beauty-perfume-holic friends have asked me if I like or wear this perfume, I sure do, and wear it a lot:) not a lot of it though, as its pretty strong ha ha:)
I’ve never chosen one based on the idea that it represented ‘me’, so probably they don’t, LOL! I choose them more for the smell and the emotions/memories they evoke…
Yes, very much actually! Last Christmas, I got attracted to the original Miss. Dior perfume bottle. Pink, classy looking and elegant. I’m addicted to the scent, and it really works well with me. Finally, found my signature scent.
No matter what perfumes I get – my go to fave is CK one. Love it.
Yes, I like bold perfumes as well – Poeme, La Dolce Vita, Opium and Knowing by Estee Lauder. I am a fairly reserved person but I love strong perfumes.
I absolutely believe that it does. i am a bit insane, i am bold, and my fave scents include addict (dior), victorias secret very sexy 1, thierry mulger angel, bleu by chanel (yes, a mans fragrance on a woman) and prada. ill toss ih antaeus (chanel) – my bf’s dad worked for chanel so i can get basically any chanel thing i want…. and chanel chance, i try to not overdo it in the summer because those scents are all pretty strong…. i love bergamot and corriander especially, no overly flowery or powdery stuff for me.
No. I’m not of the opinion that a perfume’s notes says anything about someone’s personality. It might reflect certain moods but every person has different moods no matter their personality.
I do think they reflect my personality.. I like strong fragrances mostly woody, spicy floral.. no sweety scents for me which perfectly compliments my outlook towards life.. 🙂
LOL Christine! Boring… so self depreciating, made me laugh 😉 I don’t think anyone who likes dogs AND makeup could ever be boring.
Does my perfume reflect my personality? …. Sort of? I like to wear things which speak to me, which includes clothing, makeup, and fragrance. I like unusual and quirky things, but not for the sake of it, if that makes sense? It has to reflect me in some way.
Possibly…I don’t know. I searched and searched for a fragrance that smells like TEA. It took a lot of tries to finally find one. I occasionally think about using something else but can’t really bring myself to do it right now, so I smell like tea every day!
Oh yah! I’m a FlowerBomb all the way; girly and femenine, with an explosive temper lol
I believe that no person is boring. No matter who they are or what type of life they live. 🙂
I’m sure to some extent, because whichever it is, is my choice. I’m too loyal to a fragrance, I only stop using once discontinued (heart breaks). And I can be quite a private person; friendly, warm and huggy, but can be very private. Does loving orientals and gourmands rhyme with that? 🙂
