Do you wear the same foundation everyday?

Do you wear the same foundation everyday? Or do you switch it up? If so, what makes you change?

I usually grab whatever is closest to me, so while I don’t wear the same foundation everyday, I don’t have a particular reason. I’ll reach for tinted moisturizer for just evening out skin tone and color without wearing much else or Guerlain Parure Gold for special occasions.

Hum no I don’t ! It really depends on what look i’m going for and hows my skin that day. If my skin is more dry i’ll go with Mac Sculpt foundation but when its good i’ll go with whatever i have on hands, most of the time Mac Pro Longwear 🙂

I wear the same one everyday, foundations expire and go bad specially liquid ones like the one I use so I only own one at a time to make sure i get to use it all up.

Usually I’ll alternate between my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation or the MUFE HD. Or I’ll be trying samples that I have in my stash. My current batch include: Guerlain Lingerie, MAC Matchmaster, Smashbox Studio Skin, Chanel Perfection Lumiere, and Hourglass Immaculate Oil-Free.

Alyssa Avatar

YUP…I use a medium-buildable coverage foundation so if I need anything extra I can layer or if I don’t need so much I mix it with my moisturizer. The only times my foundation changes are if I change color or I run out

I switch between MAC MSFN and a mix of NARS Sheer Glow with MUFE Face & Body. I don’t wear foundation everyday, and since I pay more attention to liquid expiration dates, I try to only keep a few liquid/cream foundations on hand at any given time. I’ll use my MSFN over concealer with a buffer brush on days I want to be quicker with my routine or don’t need much coverage. Otherwise, NSG has been my favorite liquid foundation for 2+ years now, and I tend to wear that most. I just don’t have an exact perfect match, so I use the the MUFE to help tint it as needed. The MUFE in 32 is great for me alone in summer.

Christine or anyone, what do you suggest to clean/sanitize stainless steel makeup palettes during use that won’t damage them?

I find that I reach for medium-coverage foundations everyday especially the ones I like, that aren’t too heavy and dewier finishes. I tend to ignore my heavy coverage foundations (Shiseido Lifting cream & Liole BB Cream Triple the Solution). I use Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation as a concealer but I find that it’s not so heavy that I wouldn’t wear it everyday but I just don’t need that kind of coverage everyday.

I still have a relatively full bottle of MUFE HD that I bought with NARS Sheer Glow. I finished NARS Sheer Glow and the MUFE HD still stands. I honestly don’t think it’s that great for dry skin or even normal skin.

I bought CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua and I’ve been loving that, it’s basically my everyday foundation.
Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation as concealer or for those bad skin days.

Don’t wear foundation everyday because I don’t have time everyday BUT when I do have time I’ll wear my Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals cream foundation or my Ettusais bb cream. Both work well on me and I am quite satisfied with the results..

I do have some foundations like the Bourjois Healthy Mix and the Covergirl Natureluxe lying around but they’re both the wrong shade. Unfortunately.

Krista Avatar

Usually I do for my everyday makeup routine, but when I’m only going out to do some errands I try to use as little products on my face. The opposite goes with going out with my friends. I use a fuller coverage foundation since I want it to last all night. But most of the time I like sticking to just one foundation that works for me.

Veronica Avatar

Yep. I don’t wear foundation often enough to justify owning more than my usual, and I prefer applying it sheer so I can build up with other cosmetics if necessary.

It changes from day to day for me, depending on what coverage I want and the finish I’m going for – I have one that’s lighter that the rest, for when I’m going for pale skin/red lips (I love that for going out). I have 5 foundations I on my counter that I choose from every morning.

At the moment I’m switching back and forth between EL Double Wear and Tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hr full coverage foundation, after trying a ton recently in search of something to effectively cover my red blotches. They’re both great and cover my problem areas nicely; now I’m just trying to figure out which one I like better.

Sabrina Avatar

i have the same problem with red blotchiness, and i tried the tarte amazonizan clay 12 hour and fell in love with it. i’ve been using it daily for about 2 weeks now and i’m still very pleased.

GUSnail Avatar

I have a go to foundation that I tend to wear daily-Dior Extreme. I have a few others that I switch to depending the occasion and ny mood. But mostly I stick with the Dior.

Adrienne Avatar

If I’m in a hurry I’ll reach for MUFE hd in 120 because I can trust its coverage and color. If I have a bit more time and on the weekends i like to use samples and mix tinted moisturizers together. If im feeling tan that day I can get away with just a TM. I am searching for one for special occasions (in college that was Chanel luminere) but since MUFE supposedly photographs so well I may just stay with it!

I’m very pale and have neutral undertones, very hard to find foundations that are not too yellow or too dark. I use Matchmaster in 1.0 and mix it with a tiny bit of Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation in white. Sometimes I use a mineal foundation that is the perfect color.

Johanna Avatar

I don´t use the same every day, I have a few that I like, Mac Matchmaster, Max Factor Smooth effect, Nivea Ideal Finish and Lóreal Studio secrets high definition smoothing foundation are the ones I use. 🙂

Candace Avatar

I wear L’Oreal True Match most days, but will rotate in Estee Lauder DoubleWear and Armani Luminous Silk according to my skin or where I might be going, like a big event!

Sandra Avatar

I don’t. My most-worn is Mac Studio Fix Powder, but it doesn’t wear that long on my skin. For days when I need longer wear, I’ll switch over to either MUFE Matte Velvet+ or Neutrogena Healthy Skin.

Madison Avatar

i wear my concealer from e.l.f as my foundation on almost a daily basis but if i do wear real foundation it’s going to be MUFE HD. because i love Makeup Forever and that is the only foundation I own because I don’t see the point in own multiple brands of the same kind of foundation.

Joyce Avatar

It really depends on what I’m going for! Kiehl’s TM for just evening out, MUFE Mat Velvet for special occasions, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel + Revlon ColorStay for longer wearing, heavier coverage, and Maybelline Fit Me mostly in the winter for quick reasons 🙂

But I rarely wear foundation, so xP

Sury Avatar

I use the same foundation until it ends, and then whenever I go to the store again to buy it they will suggest something new and I will try 🙂
However i found the perfect foundation from Cargo which is liquid and oil-free perfect for my oily skin.

Margot Avatar

I don’t wear foundation every day, but when I wear foundation, I always wear the same haha I love Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra 24h right now, perfect coverage, perfect color and perfect wear 🙂

PJ Avatar

Definitely switch up for different seasons. I like BB luminous foundation during the winter months, when skin is drier, BB skin foundation for the remainder of the year, use only a bit of tinted moisturizer during the hot summer months.

Karen Avatar

No. I switch it up usually. I’ve been using Too Faced BB cream lately for everyday. My go-to foundation is Urban Decay Surreal Skin mineral powder and for more special occasions I like to use a cream-to-powder, which lately is Benefit Some Kind-a Gorgeous. The TF BB cream provides skin protection and some moisture and I don’t need a primer but the coverage is a little sheerer than I am used to. The UD SS provides medium coverage and I can touch up through the day fairly easily if I need to. It matches my skin color very well. The Benefit SKG covers my imperfections very well and can be taken with me for touch ups.

Nic Avatar

Nope. I used to, for years (I don’t wear makeup every day, but I wore the same foundation every day that I did). Now I have a few that I choose from (or mix) depending on how much coverage and what sort of finish I want that day.

Nicoco Avatar

I usually alternate between Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid and Diorskin Forever, depending on how I feel that day. Less frequently, I’ll grab my Skin79 BB Cream, or use MAC Studio Fix Fluid to mix with something else (because it leans way too yellow for me to use alone. 😐 damn you, MAC counters not being near natural light.)

Laura Avatar

One of our friends sells Mary Kay, so I really only use Mary Kay foundation because my skin flairs up all the time… but I might try looking for another brand because it looks a little cakey when I put it on. (It’s a powder).

Alexandra Aimee Avatar

This image is gorgeous! I wonder what else the make up artists used on her here….I would especially love to know what that nail polish is!

Em Avatar

I change it up depending on what look I’m going for, where I’m going, and how my skin looks. When I’m teaching, I perfer something long wearing, if I’m having a bad skin day I reach for something with more coverage, and if it’s an running-errands type of day or a good skin day, I’m happy with just some bb cream and powder.

Angeline Avatar

I just own 3 foundations but I mostly stick with my Diorskin Airflash, it feels soooo light on my skin and makes me look amazing. When I need medium or full coverage or I need my makeup to last for hours I use MAC prolong wear foundation.

Brenda Avatar

No I don’t wear the same foundation everyday. I choose my base depending on what I want my skin to look like – whether matte, dewy, sparkly, lighter, darker, etc. I have about 10 different foundations.

Denise Avatar

I switch between two-three different ones depending on what I’m looking for on a given day. I don’t wear foundation every day, but if I’m leaving the house I definitely need to put some on.

Kristen Avatar

My skin usually hates life so I can’t change things up too often. I will change my foundation when I run out of the one I’m currently using or if my skin just cannot adjust to it. Right now I use Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour and my skin seems to be like it so I’m not changing until I run out!

Dinitchka Avatar

I do, because I custom mix my liquid foundations. I am about 2 – 3 different skin tones/shades during the year.

Depending on my look, I add a type of luminizer, moisturizer (for a tinted foundation) a lighter shade or a darker shade to what I have made up already (not in the pot itself, on the back of my hand).

Seems the samples I get are never the correct shade or skin type and if I can use it (even the wrong shade) I just mix it to make the correct shade.

IF I could find my perfect shade I would probably go with a couple different brands to use but since that won’t be happening I’ll just continue to mix my own.

Emily Avatar

For work, MAC’s tinted moisturizer. For weekends and special nights, depending on how my skin’s behaving, either NARS Sheer Glow Foundation or MAC’s Face and Body Foundation.

Joan Avatar

Like you Chistine, I wear a different foundation everyday. I alternate between 4 different foundations and a tinted moisturizer, usually w/o rhyme or reason. I just grab one or the other.

livnzoe Avatar

normally i switch up my foundation every 2-3 months.
at the moment i’m using bobbi brown’s oil-free tinted moistruizer!
