yes, ppl comment on how fair-skinned I am most of the time but my mom is like NW5, and my little brother has the same skintone, so I’m considered dark in my family but compare to other girls I’m quite fair

I use it sometimes, when I’m not lazy. I like L’Oreal Sublime Glow gelee because it smells as good as a drugstore self tanner can smell, and it doesn’t have pore clogging ingredients. I just don’t like how it has alcohol in it. Usually I just use it in the summer. And I just got the L’Oreal Sublime Bronze, which I like also but it’s a bit sparkly.

No, I’m a pale blonde and love it 🙂 (But I love all skin tones, for me it’s about being natural, not trying to change who you are, that’s beautiful to me.)

I use body drench quick tan! Its a sunless tanner, it does not look fake at all! It is the same formula as mystic tan, and is available on amazon for cheap. When I wear this, I get so many compliments on my tan and the best part it does not even look orange and is streakfree. It has golden brown shade to it and I apply it to my face using my hand and rubbing it in. It shows up instantly. You should try it christine!

I do use a little bit of johnsons holiday skin on my legs nearing summer because they get deathly pale eventhough I am the same skintone as you. Oh and I don’t think wearing SPF protects your skin from becoming tan…

didinium Avatar

Yes, not in winter, but as it gets warmer and I show more skin all the time.
Im very fair and just dont find white legs coming out of mini skirts attractive at all!

Naturally I do tan a little after a while, I only burn on my shoulders and back, the rest hardly ever seems to burn, but some people in my family have skin cancer and I get those potentially dangerous moles over and over when Im in the sun without protection. With proper SPF I remain white ^^

I dont use selftanner on my face, there I use bronzer if I want, but for the body selftanner is a must for me.

I’m totally agree with you. I’m very fair and I like to wear bikini in summer, so I use Xen-Tan or Rodial. Both are perfect for my skin.

No, never ! I just hate it. I hate the smell of most of the products, I think most of them give a very unnatural result on skin (even those who are supposed to be “natural”) … I just had one bad experience once, so never ever again for me ! I don’t mind having fair skin and tanning naturally (even if it’s not a lot, always always looks natural and good)

Leonie Avatar

No I never use self tanning products.
They don’t work on me, neither does sunbathing or tanning beds, guess i just don’t have enough pigment in my skin.
As a teenager I was very bothered by this, especially as many strangers felt the need to yell rude things at me like corpse, ghost, etc.
I have now embraced my pale skintone, it’s just as pretty as a tanned one.
I do always wear spf, in the winter I wear Lush’s moisturiser Ultralight with spf 14 and in the summer I put an additional spf 40 over it by Clinique (Super City Block) as I tend to get a rash if I don’t wear any spf.

Honestly, I’m too white for self tanner. They don’t look natural enough. I think if my skin was a bit darker naturally it would be easier to fake.

But, BUT!!!, if I wear a dress, I don’t leave the house without Sally Hansen spray on nylons. For real, it is so awesome!!! If you are white like me, check it out. 1 can has lasted me more than 1 year.

I don’t tan at all and since I have sun allergy, I use tons of SPF. But I hate wearing shorts and skirts with ultra white legs, so I do use fake-tan from about May to September on all visible pieces of myself 🙂

Julia Avatar

Nope. I am very pale, but I slather on sunscreen and stay that pale! I think that for me, spray tans or any self tanner would be too much of a hassle/possible disaster.

Charlene Avatar

I use those moisterizers with “glow” in them only in the summer and only on my body. Foundation works well for the face. I dont really like the smell. LOL

Shah'ada Avatar

I want to this summer to even out my ever present farmers tan . . . that or just buff up my arms so I’ll be brave enough to wear a tank top lol

AmyVA Avatar

Never! I am very pale and do not tan naturally (I burn and freckle at the drop of a hat though, without high SPF) and can only imagine tanners would look incredibly fake and nasty on me. I used to hate being so white when I was younger and “tan was in” but at this point I LOVE being very pale – I find it elegant and a reminder that my skin is going to stay protected/younger-looking for much longer…so why mess with faking tan now??

(Disclaimer: I HAVE used them in the past! I know they have improved vastly over the years, but I still have bad memories of the streaky orangey mess I had on my legs when I tried these in high school to not look so pasty in my cheerleading skirt. Yikes!)

I only use the body lotions that have some self tan in them to gradually build up some colour on my legs as they’re always so pale, but they don’t look too good after a while, go yellow and patchy on me, so I usually give up. I’ve tried Avon’s and Dove’s versions so far. Otherwise I’m happy to be pale, it’s much nicer than all the orange looking girls who just can’t live without self-tanning products. 😉

Mariah Avatar

I want to, because I am pale, pale, pale… but I hate taking the time to rub something all over my body. Especially when I know it won’t last more than a few days, or the fact I might miss somewhere and look like a freak. I did attempt it one summer, but I couldn’t handle the standing and waiting for it to dry, so it ended up ruining one of my favorite white cotton skirts!

I dunno, I think I would like to eventually try a spray tan. But I’ve had little luck with at-home stuff.

avroys Avatar

Very rarely and only on my legs. I am allergic to the DHA in self-tanners and can only use some of the Clinique gradual self-tanners

JEN Avatar

I tan easily…thank goodness! but if i wanted a quick glow i’ll use St. Tropez Everyday Gradual Tan. The trick to it is make sure you don’t wash the outside of your hands after you apply. It will be very uneven. It smells sooo good too! I wish they made a fragrance.

LNU Avatar

Well, I don’t like being too tan and I’m already an NC40 so I love my color, haha! But, my legs are snow white so I do get in the habit of using a lotion with tanner in it like Jergens Natural Glow during the summer when I wear dresses.

Helena Avatar

God, no. It’s not worth the fuss, even if I didn’t want to be roughly the color of ivory (damn sun damage has me down to an ecru, ha ha). I take white over orange any day.

Connie Avatar

Thought I already have a medium skin tone, I wanna become more tanned (which is weird because on my side of the world, everyone’s so into getting fairer!). I was using the L’Oreal self tanner but didn’t like the yellowish color so I got my US friend to buy some other self-tanners for me. I’m yet to receive them though! Now I just make do with bronzers.

Laura Avatar

Rather than self tanner (I have had bad experiences, lol) I use gradual tanning moisturizers. I get a hint of color and my moisture in one. I like using the dove expert glow on my face before bed so I wake up with a nice summer glow. These types of products are almost fool proof and work GREAT for fair skinned people too!

Trisha Avatar

I don’t normally use self-tanner, but I’ve been using it practically ever day this past week. I guess I’m just really itching for some summer weather. Unfortunately, it’s been in the 40s every day here, so self-tanner it is.
