In theory I do, yes. They are usually great as eyeshadow bases – to keep powder shadows in place all day or to enhance the performance/pigmentation of powder shadows. I also think they’re wonderful for “one and done” looks. My problem is the same as with cream shadows – I rarely (as in “never”) have managed to finish one before it dries out and/or goes “off” (anyone remember the MAC Grease Sticks – I think that’s what they were called – I had one in a gorgeous, grungy colour that started to smell “off” almost as soon as I got it).

I do like the shadow sticks like Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown, but only the dark shades….I don’t use them for all over color, but do like them for under eye smokey liner effect or on top as a smudged like liner…I don’t use the light colors much at all, but do love the dark ones….

I used to take them when traveling for a one-and-done look (plus eyeliner) but I rarely used them and they just ended up drying out. I’ve stopped buying them in recent years.

I love Laura Mercier Caviar sticks because they’re easy to use, have a great formula, are quick, and stay on the whole day without creasing, fading, and flaking. All super important for a woman with sensitive eyes like mine.

The only real eyeshadow sticks that I have been attracted to is Laura Mercier’s Cavirar Shadow sticks in the neutral colours – but I have never bought them because they are so expensive – and I have plenty of eyeshadows in those shades.
I have also had reservations about how long these sticks last before they go off.

They’ve been a staple since tie beginning of this year! I like Laura Mercier and Mally. I use them as a base or for a one-and-done. I like to buff the color all over the lid to just above the crease and the pat a shimmer on the mobile lid to give it extra staying power. Sometimes I will line the outer top lashline with a darker color, smudge and and the tap on the same color in a powder shadow to set. This has been working great for summer so far.

I love the LM Caviar sticks, never had issue with drying out, good amount of time before dying down. I have also tried Makeup Forever sticks with success. I use as liner sometimes, LM Caviar stick in Cocoa is a classic beauty.

I bought my one and only Laura Mercier stick a few years ago after seeing so many people swear by these. It got very little use and I practically forgot about it. The thing is, it doesn’t work as one-and-done for me because I have to use a primer underneath and a powder shadow on top to stop it from creasing on my oily lids, so it’s anyway going to be at least a three-step process. Also the shade is such that it looks better with an eyeliner, so it’s more like 4 steps to make it look good.

I like cream shadow sticks so long as they’re the kind that allow me to do a one-and-done look. Some of them are too patchy to be worn alone and would be best as a base for powdered shadows. My favorite are the Thrive shadow sticks because they’re creamy and subtle and extremely office appropriate. I’m about to finish one so I plan to repurchase it along with a few of their newer colors.
