Do you coordinate your jewelry/accessories with your makeup?

Do you coordinate your jewelry/accessories with your makeup? Why/why not?

I’m terrible at accessorizing, so not really, but I don’t wear many… if any.  Usually none!  If I do wear, then I suppose I would!

Yes I do, especially when I’m going partying, to a nice dinner, to hang out with some friends… etc. I coordinate my clothes with my makeup first, and then the accessories come in as well. 🙂

That’s so funny that this is the question, since I’m actually having this issue this morning. My necklace does not match my lipstick, but I love them both and can’t decide which to take off! So, I’m going to go with no, I don’t always coordinate. I will if it’s for a big event or something where I’m going to be photographed.

OMG…..Christine.

I was starting to think that I was the only girl on earth who is terrible at (and frankly, doesn’t have much of an interest in) accessorizing. Now I’ll know I’m not alone, LOL!

I don’t coordinate. I wear a plain necklace with a white Zirkonia pendant, my favorite ear studs with white Zirkonias and my favorite ring with a blue Topas every single day. So, there’s is nothing to coordinate, unless I’d wear the same make-up every single day. Not gonna happen! 🙂

Not for daytime/work, I handle artefacts and jewelry is dangerous when you work with industrial collections (could get a ring or necklace caught on equipment and end up losing a finger or choking) so my daytime jewelry, if I wear it, is pretty sparse and conservative- I wear my engagement and wedding rings, a conservative snug watch, and small earrings (might take them off depending on what I’m doing). If I wear, say, peacock feather earrings on the weekend or in the evening, I might do a peacock-ey look on my eyes or something.

I generally don’t wear accessories. When I do its for a special occasion and very rarely is it colored, ie pearls, crystals, silver. Those pretty much go with everything. I suppose I may match my accessories to my overall look ie little black dress and winged liner and red lips, pearls. But I always accessorize at the end so I don’t think “I’ll be wearing pearls so I should do a pinup makeup look” its usually the other way around if at all.

i only coordinate my make up with my jewelry when i do a special and a flashy make up!
but i do coordinate my jewelry with the clothes and shoes i’m wearing!

Yes, I do…but, of course, the aim is not to wear a total look…(all in blue, all in pink), but to have some harmony between clothes, accessories and make up.

I definitely aim to make everything complimentary, especially when I wear crazy/bold accessories like peacock feathers or really neon things. I won’t match it 100% but if I do say, a really colorful peacock earring, I like to do a nice pink lip to tie it all together. My lips are really full so I use them much more than my eyes for bold color.

Sometimes, if I’m wearing a plain outfit (black and white for instance) I’ll wear contrasting jewellery and match it to my eyeshadow.

I always do! Nails, eyes, lips, shirt, jewellery, even hair elastics. They’re coordinated or complimentary. Right now I”ve got bold green eyeshadow on (Acid from Shiro Cosmetics), so I”ve got a purple necklace and a light grey blouse on.

I am so in love with fashion jewelry — the over-sized rings, long necklaces, etc. I normally wear black so I rely on makeup and jewelry for a splash of color.

Since I coordinate my accessories to my clothing and I select make-up to compliment the clothes I’m wearing, it all comes together without being “matchy-matchy”.

Yes I match the makeup to the clothes. The accessories just happen to work out b/c I’ve already matched the makeup to the clothes! I do it all day everyday, just my style!
