I don’t know about anyone else but I’m not seeing “white, silver and black” in that Celebrate in Gold 5-pan (okay, maybe the black…). And perhaps it’s me and the image I have of Dior but that photo of the model just doesn’t have the “look” of timeless elegance that I tend to associate with Dior.

Yeah I was like where is the white and silver?? I do like the look of the model- maybe looks like an exaggerated 20s or. 30s movie star look. I like that it’s editorial while still keeping that Dior “luxe” element.

The holiday collection train is getting to be neverending! And now, Dior. It looks interesting, if nothing else. More colorful than what I think of when I think about Dior, but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Just peculiar.

This looks like a very fun collection. I like the Happy 2020 palettes, and sparkling lipsticks and the purple nail color. I also like the promo pic.

The Bay (Canada) had 10% off $75 cosmetics purchase for beauty week last weekend. I ordered the topcoat nail polish (the past couple of years it either didn’t come in or was sold out in a flash) and the rosewood lipstick. I do want to see the swatches for the eyeshadow palettes and the sparkly lipsticks in the fancy gold tube. The holiday stuff is slowly trickling in.

Fingers crossed for a good review on the party palette. I’ve never purchased a Dior shadow and this might be a fun time to try it out. I’m looking forward to seeing the Liquid Mono. That sounds interesting!

I’ve been waiting for this collection! I want the bright eye shadow palette and maybe a sparkling lip stick. Not feeling the models makeup though.

Wow, look at that colorful shadow quint! I’ve never seen that from Dior. And also eyeing the sparkly lipsticks, they remind me of MAC’s holiday ones

Every year I pick up one of the LE Holiday palettes from Dior. It is usually a Christmas gift to myself. I get along well with Dior shadows. I was immediately drawn to the Party In Colours palette but I have purchased quite a few of these shades recently so I don’t need these. I am okay with the other palette but again, these shades have been done. I guess I will have to wait and see swatches to determine if there is anything unique and how they perform on the eye before making a decision. Love the black and silver lipstick cases and will definitely be getting one of those.

The model image really reminds me of a poorly done Pat McGrath imitation at this point — the placement of shadow, the gold, the sequins. That being said, the 2020 palette has super fun colors, but I feel like people will own it long after 2020 and wouldn’t want the year printed in the powder in 2021 and beyond.

I like that Dior is doing artsy lipstick cases like Louboutin – something you’d expect from a luxury brand. The shape is so funny though, I’m not sure I like it haha.

Also, I know the production timeline is probably totally different, but this is SOOO different from Dior’s S/S 2020 runway collection in terms of sustainability/eco-consciousness messaging. For the collection, they used trees as the “runway” set that were to be planted in France after the show was over, and they integrated ephemeral wildflowers into garments with couture techniques. It would be SO cool if luxury brands took a cue from innovative ethically-minded and sustainability-focused beauty brands and put that couture-esque/luxury touch to it!

It’s so true that using that kind of theme can help public awareness of environmental and ethical concerns. And at the same time, it’s too bad that the way companies seem to go about that is to once again deploy and uproot nature and cart it around to decorate human activities, rather than supporting the restoration of the earth, habitats and biodiversity directly. There is also the concern that the kinds of trees used for the purpose are ones that contain and exude pesticides which kill pollinators, like bees. So that even replanting them is not that good. A recent tree planting done in L.A. was of those chemically dangerous types of trees unfortunately. So we have a far way to go.

I don’t know. This looks like a gorgeous release to me. The color stories are up my alley. I just wish I could find some of this stuff online.
