Dior Electric Tropics Collection for Summer 2011

Dior Electric Tropics Collection for Summer 2011

The House if Dior invites us on an exhilarating journey to the Tropics for his Spring/Summer 2011 collection: floral motifs, dresses with sun-steeped prints, feathers and exotic embroidery, ensembles that explore the borders between masculinity and femininity with fresh sensuality. Sailor uniforms get sassy with lace, shagreen prints and crowns of hibiscus, orchids and South Pacific palm trees.

Drawing inspiration from this collection, which plays up flamboyance and sunny retro refinement, Creative Director of Dior Makeup Tyen presents a collection inspired by paradise. This makeup look highlights the contrast between audacious neon colors and sun-kissed skin.

Ultra Gloss Crystal Nude ($27.00)

  • Luminescent Peach (037) (not at Sephora)
  • Sweet Peach (047)
  • Luminescent Rose (077) (not at Sephora)
  • Sweet Rose (037)

Nude Healthy Glow Powder ($46.00)

This couture-style summer powder is the must-own accessory that will be coveted by all Dior addicts. Woven like the Lady Dior Avenue clutch, the powder brings a new sparkle to the eyes and flatters the complexion. Each harmony mixes four shades that individually capture a facet of light to reproduce the “healthy glow” of sun-kissed skin.

  • Aurora (001)
  • Sunset (002)

Nude Healthy Glow Fluid ($46.00)

Diorskin Nude Glow Fluid recreates the dazzling illusion of sun-kissed skin. Amber prisms act like color filters that delicately warm up the complexion, creating a strikingly natural effect. Its sorbet texture is concentrated with Mineralized Water for instant and lasting skin-refreshing action. When applied, it transforms into a powder and offers a light, velvety finish for “bare skin” look.

  • Rosy Nude (001) (Specialty doors only)
  • Honey Nude (002) (Specialty doors only)

5-Colour Eyeshadow ($58.00)

  • Rosy Nude (054) (not at Sephora)
  • Rosy Tan (754)

Addict Lipstick ($28.00)

  • Fire (545)

Vernis ($26.00)

  • Paradise Pink (558) (Saks, Dior.com only)
  • Aloha (638) (not at Sephora)

availability: April 2011 at Dior counters nationwide, dior.com – except as noted.

Those nail polishes are mine!!! 🙂
I have been trying to find a pic of the new lipstick (Fire #545) but can’t find one. If it’s as fiery as I think it should be, this one is mine too!

Yay, saw today that it allready arrived in Sweden. Will however wait to make a purchase until I have seen Christines review 😉 Or, what would you guys get?

Vivian, I thought the same thing! Especially the way the glosses are laid out. Probably won’t stop me from buying these too, though :).

I think the glosses are like the Crystal Gloss from last summer, except with more color choices. The jelly texture was awesome, sheer though.

I have a question related to Dior — how does MAC lipstick compare to Dior lipstick? I received a sample of Dior lipstick and was utterly amazed by the quality (I’ve never used a “high-end” lipstick). I only ask about MAC since it is significantly more affordable than Dior (and I have not tried a MAC lipstick either). Thanks in advance if you can help!

I’ve seen pics of the e/s quints. BOTH are neutral/beige/browns. Nothing especially unique or summery. The nail polishes sure are pretty. The glosses look pretty but I suspect they will be sheer when worn. That powder is catching my eye the most. It’s nice to finally have something glowy for the summer for us gals that don’t like to wear bronzer.

Looks good, I’m especially interested in the powders and new quints. I don’t mind that they’re neutral, I think it’d be quite nice for summer as I don’t usually bother with heaps of eye makeup and it’s not so obvious when neutral tones start to melt off your face, LOL!

I’m just glad it’s not yet another bronze based collection!

I’m wondering which of the two this powder is that is pictured. Because that is absolutely to DIIIIIIE for! Then my next question would be, I wonder if my pale skin (NW10) could carry it off? Being a fair, freckled red-head is the bane of my life! Oh to have a darker complexion! That and to not burn if I even THINK of going out into the sun…..*sigh*…..I guess it’s a good thing I’m doing a project 20 pan, lol, no buying cosmetics for me till that 20th pan! (common 20!)

I’ve seen pictures of both of the powders and this is the lighter of the two so I’m assuming that this is “Aurora” and the other is “Sunset”

Oh, the colors are so good for me! They are ice-colors!
Does anyone know if the collection will be available in Belgium? And when? 😉

Do you know the exact date of U.S. release? I checked on Dior.com and I couldn’t find the Dior Nude Healthy Glow Powder, but I already saw a couple of bloggers reviewing them.
