Dior Croisette Collection for Summer 2012

“On vacation, you can wear all the colorful and casual clothing that you like, but you must always be elegant,” said Christian Dior. Inspired by the art de vivre of the French Riviera, the Dior Croisette Collection combines the peace of the French countryside with the splendour of Saint Tropez. These locations have always been a prolific source of inspiration for Christian Dior. From Dior’s first swimsuit collections and seaside fashion creations in the Fifties to the current Cruise Collections, the French Riviera also embodies the brand’s most daring, fresh and colorful lines today.

Between the shimmering turquoise of the Mediterranean Sea and the sparkling gold of the sand, through soft coral and bikini pink, the Croisette reveals all its elegance and optimism in sunny and aquatic-inspired shades. The skin is warmed up and illuminated in a natural glow effect, while the eyes are dressed up with luminescent sunny shades or fresh azure blues. The lips are colorful and subtly sparkling while the nails complete the look with coral and blue shades inspired by the most glamorous emblems of the French Riviera.  Available April/May 2012.

I declared my no-buy after purchasing Saint Tropez but this collection is just too gorgeous. I am especially loving Swimming Pool. Just a side note: Saint Tropez is in the same family as For Audrey and Nouvelle Vague but it’s slightly brighter, more of a robin’s egg blue. Anyway, that’s how I justified it!

Coral Lip Balm and Eye Glosses? I need this in my life like yesterday! I guess I’ll wait for your review on the eye glosses, sounds really interesting though, hope it performs well. Do you know if the coral lip balm will be the same concept as their current pink one that takes a different color on everyone?

I was initially very excited for this collection, especially the orange 5 colour, but now I feel it’s just kind of.. meh.. Much more interested in the YSL collection!

Ack! Swimming pool is all the colors I ever wanted!! I plan on getting Urban Decay’s Free Love and Shattered though… I wonder how similar (or not) they are… Can’t wait for swatches!

Christine, do u know when u will be posting the colors & textures of the 2 eye palettes & the 2 eye glosses? Always like to know before I buy. Please let us know if the eye glosses have glitter in them when u do. I’m allergic to glitter.

I will not be receiving samples, so I don’t have any reviews planned at this time. I can’t make any decisions until it’s available to buy, but it will be dependent on things like when it’s launched, how much budget has already been spent on products to review for the month, and overall timing.

I just purchased the Dior 5-Couleurs Croisette Edition in Aurora. It is fabulous. I can’t wait to get a little tanner. I’m going to get so much use out of this pallet! <3
